WEEK TWENTY TWO: LIFE IN THE RESURRECTION - DAY 7

WEEK TWENTY TWO: LIFE IN THE RESURRECTION - DAY 7

MORNING FACE TO FACE WITH GOD:
Begin with Prayer to the Holy Spirit

APPLICATION OF THE SENSES: #121-126
Apply your senses to those points in the two repetitions where you experienced consolation or desolation, or greater spiritual appreciation. Ask for the grace to be glad and rejoice intensely for the great joy and the glory of Christ our Lord (#221)

#121 tells us that this method of prayer "will consist in applying the five senses to the matter" at hand.
#122 asks you to see in imagination the persons, contemplating in detail their circumstances and then drawing some fruit from what has been seen.
#123 asks you to hear what they are saying or might say, and by reflecting on oneself to draw some profit.
#124 asks you to smell the infinite fragrance, and taste the infinite sweetness of the divinity present in the mystery being contemplated.
#125 asks you to apply the sense of touch, for example, by embracing and kissing the place where the persons stand or are seated.
#126 asks you to end with a colloquy.

I witnessed two men come to Christ in different ways, Peter, a hard worker being taught directly by Jesus coming into his own through the guidance of our Triune God.  Another, Paul, a dedicated student, prepared by God to know the truth getting knocked off of his horse being taught the error of his ways.  Then both of them taking their God given talents and understanding, in different ways impacting the world where God was leading.  Their daily time in prayer was an integral part of who they were.  We have each being planted in different places, we come to understanding in different ways yet the race is the same, using the gifts and talents pointing towards God.  Sharing our experiences of the daily impact God personally has with us in outward signs and trusting in His Holy Spirit to lead the way.

What is God saying to you?  A life with Divine purpose has meaning even in the trials and tribulations.  It all has purpose to make you a better man for the greater good.

Dear Lord God, You see all of me, nothing is hidden, the victories and the struggles are there for You to see.  I thank You for the gift of this day, for the great opportunities to live as Your follower and speak to truth when called upon.  I thank You for the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the desire to listen.  Prayers for a little one going into an operation, may Your healing hands be upon her and her family.  Lord, use me today where You need me, allow my experiences of both good and bad be used for Your glory.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Victory, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Most Obedient, Pray for us.
