Week 24 - The Journey Day 4

Week 24 - The Journey Day 4

"Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.""  Matthew‬ ‭26:41‬

Jesus goes into the garden of Gethsemane to pray, to prepare himself for the coming tribulation.  He invites His three favorite disciples to go with Him to keep watch.  Peter has just told Him at supper that he was ready to die with Jesus, it sounded good but now he was asleep.  Not even concerned about what was coming, hadn't fully realized the signs and turmoil all around.

Jesus knows their strength and their weaknesses.  Living in the flesh and not in the Spirit.  We all fall into this trap, relying upon our own power to navigate life, not really trusting God, our words sound good.  Jesus went in to pray, to give His troubles to His Father and ask for strength knowing that His Father had prepared Him as Son of Man to become the Resurrected Christ.  God became one of us so in time we could imitate Him.

"The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak."  "Then he said to me: "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, and not by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts."  ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:6‬.  "Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬.  Give it to God in prayer, trust in His will and follow His direction.  On our own we are nothing, with God's direction, the Son of Man has conquered the world, for he doesn't live in it in the flesh.

What is God saying to me?  Come to me in prayer and keep watch for what approaches, only in prayer will you find peace, live here.

Dear Father, there are blessings that awaits us in silent prayer, I thank You for the grace to seek You out in the quiet of the day.  Life is abundantly good within You.  Prayers for a family under spiritual attack, I ask for Your healing hand be upon them, may they not fall victim to the schemes of the devil.  Thank You Jesus for enduring the pain of sin for each of us, help me see my sin and confess it so I can be more open to the Father's will.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 24 - The Journey Day 2

Week 24 - The Journey Day 2

"While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus questioned them, saying, "What is your opinion about the Messiah? Whose son is he?" They replied, "David's." He said to them, "How, then, does David, inspired by the Spirit, call him 'Lord,' saying: 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies under your feet"'? If David calls him 'Lord,' how can he be his son?""  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:41-45‬

Jesus speaks to the heart of man as He stands against evil.  He is not argumentative, He is patient, He is kind, He is firm and He is Lord.  The Pharisees are waiting on the Messiah, they know He is a son of David and yet they are blind to the lie that they have bought.  Jesus doesn't condemn, He doesn't convince, He speaks to their hypocrisy and gives them something to think about.

The Son of David speaks about who lives within, which voice do we hear and follow.  There are no easy paths in life, no magic pills, other than living within the Spirit of God.  Trusting in faith and knowing God has your back.  Is God speaking to you?  Is He trying to get you to awaken to the reality of the lies that are all around.  I do not know what tomorrow brings, I do know that we are to Love God with all our hearts, all our souls and all our minds.  The evidence is my actions and I hear God speak into my heart.

There is more work to do but not without the help of grace from God.  By myself I am nothing, it is the Spirit of God that lives within that carries us through as well as the holy convictions of our actions.  Speak Lord, Your servant is listening.

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, I heard Your question and I pray they do.  It is the heart where You take root, it is in the heart where You evict the evil that has taken hold.  Prayers for ears to hear, little souls are at risk.  Thank You Lord for watching You stand against evil without condemning the person so they can accept or deny the truth that stands in front of them.  Bless this day, keep us safe, may we be faithful servants to You, Amen.

Week 24 - The Journey Day 1

Week 24 - The Journey Day 1

"During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. "It is a ghost," they said, and they cried out in fear."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14:25-26‬

The Divinity of Christ, Jesus reveals Himself to the disciples slowly, in their journey with Him, He is their teacher.  He is one of them but filled with the mysteries of Heaven, He is Heaven.

We sit in the boat, being tossed about our senses heightened and here comes our Teacher walking on water, He looks like Jesus but there is something different about His appearance.  What would cause them to be terrified?  God reveals Himself to us a little at a time, there is no need for concern.

How comforting is it to know when we are being tossed about and seeking refuge, He makes His appearance known revealing to us that all is good.  He is never far away as He watches His pupils.  The question is are you a student, a follower, a believer in the Mystery of Heaven?

What is God saying to me?  I Am never far away.

Dear Lord, thank You for the beautiful rain this morning, for the blowing wind and the peace that comes with knowing You are watching over us, Your students.  As You reveal Yourself to us, heighten our senses and speak, bringing calm to the situations of life.  Bless this day Lord and bless the journey with You, Amen.

Week 23 - The Journey Day 7

Week 23 - The Journey Day 7

"Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:31-32‬

Standing with Love, Jesus.  Has Jesus just condemned those who deny His divinity to hell in this scripture?  Can Love deny those created in His image and likeness?  No He can not but us made in His image and likeness must ask for forgiveness.  To blasphemy the Holy Spirit is to deny His saving power, God is greater than the sum of all our sins!!!!

Stand beside love and see the battle He is in, see the pain of knowing what awaits those who love Him and yet can not ask for forgiveness.  Denying the saving power of God is blasphemous but we have a lifetime to figure it out.  Jesus waits with love knowing love conquers all, this world is filled with temptations, do not fall victim to the father of lies.  Repent and seek the Kingdom of God, this is true joy.

What is God saying to me?  You see what I see.

Dear Lord God, You are greater than all our troubles, bind the evil one under Your authority that we do not become pawns in his game.  Prayers for friends in the battle waiting for Love to conquer all.  Thank You Father for this day, thank You for hope in my heart and a song on my lips, You are greater than the sum of all my sins.  To God be the glory now and forever, Amen.

Week 23 - The Journey Day 6

Week 23 - The Journey Day 6

"But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you."  Matthew‬ ‭12:28‬

God at work.  Jesus cures the demoniac from being mute and blind, those with eyes to see, know this is the Messiah, the Son of David.  The Pharisees are blind to who is at work, their own desire for power and control has control of them.  They are spiritually blind to the reality of God in their midst.

Can you see God at work?  All around us God is transforming lives, drawing them closer to Him.  The kingdom of God has come upon them.  Jesus tries to reach the spiritually blind by giving them something to think about, free will belongs to each of us.  "But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬. ""This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:15‬

What is God saying to me?  Now is the time, the blind will see, the arrogant will not.

Dear Father, it is a beautiful morning sitting at Your feet.  Just like in the days of Jesus, some witnessed You at work and some were blind to Your reality.  Give us something to think about that jars the gripe loose so we can become faithful followers of Your Son.  Keep us safe this day, strengthen our resolve to serve You and remove the scales from our eyes so we see You at work in the simplest of ways.  Prayers for a friend with Covid, heal their body from this attack, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 23 - The Journey Day 3

Week 23 - The Journey Day 3

"Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one with whom I am pleased. Upon him I have put my spirit; he shall bring forth justice to the nations."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭42:1‬

As I read Matthew Chapter 12, through Matthew's eyes I seen what he seen.  Jesus is being persecuted for His actions and the actions of others yet He does nothing wrong. It is His response to the persecutions that struck me and I assume Matthew as well.  He doesn't lash out, He accepts what comes at Him and trusts in God for the outcome.  He speaks truth into the darkness in an effort to sway minds with not much success.

Matthew sees scripture being revealed to him.  He sees the gentleness of Jesus and the strength of God operating in the Son of Man.  I wonder how I can get there, for under my own power I am helpless.  Having compassion for others as they unknowingly do the work of another father, the father of evil.  Witnessing Jesus at work helps us understand our own short comings in a world that seeks to bring you down.  Come Lord Jesus and feed the souls of Your faithful.

What is God saying to me?  Give it time, I Am the judge not the son of man.

Dear Father, you see the trials we face each day and the challenges to live as You lived here in earth.  Give us strength to bite our tongue, give us guidance to help another find their way to You.  Teach us justice when we are unjust.  Thank you Father for Matthew's insight, for his ability to look back and record what he was seeing.  To allow the Holy Spirit to operate in his life.  Bless this day Lord, be our eyes, our ears, our thoughts and our actions in all that we do.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 23 - The Journey Day 2

Week 23 - The Journey Day 2

"For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:20‬

Jesus is preparing His disciples to go into the world and proclaim the Gospels, to share what He has been sharing.  He also prepares them for the persecution that will come as they are speaking against the world.  First of all He is speaking to His disciples, they are following Jesus, they have witnessed Him in action.  Secondly, they know who the Father is, Jesus speaks of Him all the time.  "The Father and I are one.""  ‭‭John‬ ‭10:30‬

Jesus has taught them how to pray, how to listen to the Fathers voice, they are ready.  Yet they worry about what to say, they worry if they are worthy or capable and Jesus knowing who they are, reassures them where true power comes from.  Are you developing your relationship with the Father?  Are you learning to trust Him in all circumstances?  Nothing happens without His knowledge, He does not place you in situations that will cause you harm unless you are hard of hearing.

God will give you what to say and when to say it at the proper time, in the meantime continue to prepare.  Watch Jesus in action in His word and trust in God the Father, there is no other worthy of your praise.

What is God saying to You?  My Word has impact, it reaches the soul and feeds the Spirit.  Be prepared with daily prayer as we sit together.

Dear Lord, I trust in You, Amen.

Week 23 - The Journey Day 1

Week 23 - The Journey Day 1

""Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:3‬

What can this world give that satisfies the soul?  No matter how far you travel on the spiritual journey, your soul still longs for that which satisfies which is God, it is Heaven.  "For to me life is Christ, and death is gain."  ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:21‬

Has God entered your life in a way that you are blessed beyond measure?  And you are poor in spirit?  Yes and Yes.

What is God saying to me?  Just around the corner, you will see the purpose in all of this.  I Am the one which satisfies the poor in spirit and this is what you yearn for.  Stay the course.

Dear Father, what a blessing to see You in actions through others, to hear You speak through another that isn't even aware of how You work through them.  Thank You Father for blessing me, for giving me the gift of life and for pouring grace within so I can become what You created me for.  Thank You Father for breaking the bondage of this world in my life and for giving the hope of Heaven painted deeply in my spirit.  Bless this day and all it has to offer.  Awaken our senses to Your reality, Amen.

Week 22 - The Journey Day 7

Week 22 - The Journey Day 7

"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:1‬

Have you been led into the desert?  An arid and dry place that is not your normal way of life.  It is like another world and as you try and make sense of it, the only thing that brings about peace is the knowledge that you are loved that much that God allows this to happen.  We are surrounded by the world bombarding our senses, it is the Spirit of God that leads us.  Are we good followers willingly going where God directs us?

"He therefore let you be afflicted with hunger, and then fed you with manna, a food unknown to you and your ancestors, so you might know that it is not by bread alone that people live, but by all that comes forth from the mouth of the Lord."  ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭8:3‬

What is God saying to me?  The food that I give is for eternal life with Me?

Dear Father, bless this day, thank You for the gifts of goodness that fall upon us.  Watch over us this day, keep us in Your loving arms and prepare us for forever.  Blessings upon a loved one going through a desert, not knowing the next turn and learning to trust in Your Divine wisdom.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 22 - The Journey Day 6

Week 22 - The Journey Day 6

"After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened [for him], and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove [and] coming upon him."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭3:16‬

The Spirit of God, the third person of the Trinity can not act without our willing cooperation.  As I sat with the baptism of Jesus this morning, John did not think he should be baptizing the Messiah.  Jesus speaks with authority to John and John allows, willing cooperation, his baptism.  Only then can God act in our lives, He speaks, we listen, we respond with love, God acts.

The Spirit of God can move mountains but not without our cooperation.  The gentleness of God as He moves amongst us.  Listen to God as He speaks through Jesus, listen to His words and the way He speaks.  See His actions, see His movements and His patience as He waits upon us so He can move.  Nothing happens without our cooperation, allow that to sink in as you sit with this verse.  Come Holy Spirit.

What is God saying to me?  Listen to your heart as I give it life.

Dear Father, I see Your gentle nature this morning moving within my world.  I see You wait upon our Cooperation and see Your patience as mountain make the decisions to be moved.  I thank You Father for nurturing love within, for giving us Your nature of calm in the midst of our daily activities.  Speak with authority in our lives so we may respond in the affirmative and see Your Spirit at work.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 22 - The Journey Day 4

Week 22 - The Journey Day 4

"I am baptizing you with water, for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is mightier than I. I am not worthy to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the holy Spirit and fire."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭3:11‬

Listen to John's heart, he speaks truth to those who are seeking for themselves.  He cares not about his own well being but is more concerned about the eternity of others.  He calls them a brood of vipers, those in place of power seeking to control, pretending to be doing the work of God.

God announces what is coming, He prepares His people for what they need to be ready for.  John's relationship with God is a love relationship, he hears the heart of God, he sees the signs of the times, he is living the persecution and trials of life.  There is something to be said about listening and being in the scene, to see God at work.  "It was of him that the prophet Isaiah had spoken when he said: "A voice of one crying out in the desert, 'Prepare the way of thep Lord, make straight his paths.'""  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭3:3‬

The world stood against this truth and yet it can not be denied.  Make straight His path.

What is God saying to me?  Be still and know that I Am God, you are powerless against the troubles of this world, I Am not, trust in Me and get out of the way.  (I am trying Lord, continue the lesson in a world that denies Your existence even though it fights You.)

Dear Father, I feel the love John has for You, I see his conviction and passion as he lives his life.  I see him living in a world that ignores the truth even though it is in front of them.  Bless us with understanding, baptize us with the Holy Spirit, prepare Your faithful for a brighter tomorrow living within Your holy temple.  Produce good fruit from the efforts that are being placed at Your feet.  Thank You for the spiritual weapon we are given from the new ark of the Covenant.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 22 - The Journey Day 3

Week 22 - The Journey Day 3

"Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.  Matthew‬ ‭1:20-21‬

Knowledge of God's word reveals truth beyond what we can see in a few verses.  Oral tradition being passed on from one to another until it is written down.  Who told this story of Joesph was it Jesus that shared it with the disciples, was it Mary that shared it.  Joesph's knowledge of God's word and his love for God and His people, he did not live on the letter of the law, he lived the spirit of the law.

Each day at the feet of Jesus with a tiny morsel, His word penetrates our hearts and over time the picture becomes vivid with reality.  Joesph lived his life for God, he knew his lineage, he knew who he belonged to and he knew prophecy.  God seen his righteousness and had prepared him for the task at hand.  A daily prayer life brings you into the heart of God.  Sit and listen.

What is God saying to me?  Your steps are being directed, a faithful follower receives many rewards.

Dear Father, blessing upon blessings are revealed when we sit at Your feet consistently.  Your people know Your word for they live it each day.  Your holy family lives within Your protection and guidance.  Give us the desire and depth to know what has value in Your eyes.  Thank You for the lesson this morning, I know the day is only beginning and there is more to learn.  Prepare each of us for Your glory so others may come to know the Living God, You, that dwells amongst us.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 22 - The Journey Day 1

Week 22 - The Journey Day 1

"Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the holy Spirit."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:18‬

Have you ever pondered Mary's love relationship with God?  The ark of the Covenant not made by human hands.  I always thought that this mystery just happened upon Mary, came out of the blue.   Mary had a deep relationship with God and had journeyed with Him for many years prior to her commitment to becoming the spouse of the Holy Spirit.  God did not drop this upon her but had prepared her, she was in love with God.

Look at your own life, how is your love relationship with God?  He prepares us as well for our covenant relationship, He is always willing but for it to be fruitful it requires our willingness and commitment to His requests.  ""Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?" He said to him, "You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind."  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:36-37‬.  Jesus reminds us and Mary demonstrates what this relationship looks like.

What is God saying to me?

Dear Father, You are writing in crooked lines and are directing my path, keeping me along the proper road for this journey.  I thank You for revealing the depth of Mary's love to You prior to her consent and commitment to becoming the mother of God and bearing Your Son Jesus.  Bless us Father with Your graces and open up scripture to the blind that do not take the time to read and be loved by You.  Prayers of thanksgiving for a friend healing, thank You.  Amen.

Test 2

Week 21 - The Journey Day 7

Week 21 - The Journey Day 7

"He said: "I am 'the voice of one crying out in the desert, "Make straight the way of the Lord,"' as Isaiah the prophet said."" John‬ ‭1:23‬

Evidence of God's Holy Spirit.  John the Baptist had been endued with the gifts of the Holy Spirit from his mother's womb.  His life was lived for God and in a way he gives voice to God, not that God needs a voice.  Is it John's voice that is speaking or is it the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Our lives give credence to our belief to God, there are times we are called to speak up and show the way of the Lord.  With all the noise in this world there is the constant knowledge that God is in control.  He guides us and leads us into the day if we allow it, no different than the rising of the sun, it begins in peace and flows into the darkness revealing the beauty of the day.   Recognize the gifts you have been given and reveal God within.

What is God saying to me?  Be still and know that I am God.

Dear Father, I hear You speak, I see the gifts of the day and Your Holy Spirit.  Make our ways straight even if they seem to be crooked lines, I trust in You.  Prayers for a friend recovering from a heart attack, even in this Lord, You made Your presence known.  When we least expect it, You are there.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 21 - The Journey Day 6

Week 21 - The Journey Day 6

"Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit"; and when he had said this he breathed his last."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:46‬

Death is never an easy thing to talk about, we will all walk through its door, even Jesus as Son of Man faced it.  Yet His life lived with purpose to serve our Father in Heaven, He entrusts himself into his Fathers hands.  These weren't foreign hands for they had Journeyed together His entire life.  His best friend, His God was going to take care of him.

God gives each of us the opportunity to know Him, to witness the life of Jesus living for Him and free will to chose how we want to live.  You get to chose.  Which Father do you follow?  The father of lies or the Father of the Universe, the One who created all with His words.  When I die I pray I entrust my spirit into His hands.

"The Lord shall reign forever, your God, Zion, through all generations! Hallelujah!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭146:10‬.  Live with purpose, you won't accidentally get into Heaven or hell, in my opinion.

What is God saying to me?  There is reason for this, will you follow where I go and take you?

Dear Father, not easy to contemplate death, we don't even like thinking about it, yet You place it upon our path to ask the question.  Help us understand that entrusting ourselves to You while breathing gives us life eternity.  Even in death, You walk with us.  Prayers for those mourning the loss of a loved one, lift their spirits to You Lord and breathe peace into them.   Bless this day and all it has to offer, Amen.

Week 21 - The Journey Day 3

Week 21 - The Journey Day3

"For the holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:12‬

Standing in the crowd listening to Jesus speak and these are the words He says.  This is what we know about the disciples that are with Him.  They are following the guidance of God, they are listening to the words of God and they are students of God.

Are you a good student of Jesus?  If Jesus is to teach us what to say it is an automatic that we are good students.  A bad student doesn't show up, doesn't listen and doesn't pay attention.  A good student will know what to say.  When we sit at the feet of Jesus and listen, His love will say it all.  Showing up each day you develop an intimacy with the Trinity.  Each day is a new lesson that draws us in to a new thought, a deeper understanding.  Be a good student, show up and listen, keep it simple.

What is God saying to me?  I Am always here ready to give and receive.  In the stillness of your heart you can hear even if it seems dark.  Some do not understand but in time they will learn for I Am the best Teacher.

Dear Father, I pray for those who question Your existence, I pray for those believing the false lies of the world, I pray for those holding on to unforgiveness, give them grace Lord, give them ears and a heart to hear.  Make us all better students.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Week 21 - The Journey Day 2

Week 21 - The Journey Day 2

""Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:10

Is there a sin that God will not forgive?  Is there a sin that God's mercy will not forgive?  God is love, He is real and He loves each of us, to the point of death on a cross.  What about man, what will we not forgive?  It is man that denies the truth of God that will not be forgiven.  It is man that chooses death over life.  The verse doesn't say God won't forgive it says will not be forgiven.  It is man's own hardness of heart that will not accept the love of God in his own life.  God is love, Jesus did not die in vain even for the most hardened of hearts.

In our moments of passion we may spurt out a comment or action that the evil one wants us to believe it is unforgivable.  God will forgive if we ask and believe that God is love.  He can not deny himself.

What is God saying to me?  I Am Love and more than you can fathom yet you are Mine, My creation.  Created for a purpose, live your faith.

Dear Father God, I am blessed beyond my own comprehension.  Even in the darkness you reach out and speak into my thoughts.  Keep our souls save this day, do not allow us to be deceived and may Your love penetrate the seemingly unforgivable.  Prayers for a family who lost a father, grandfather, father-in-law, give them peace knowing how much he loved.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 20 - The Journey Day 7

Week 20 - The Journey Day 7

""Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:10‬

Jesus had been challenged by the Pharisees as they were seeking ways to trap Him, they were speaking against Him and not seeing the Divinity of God, the power of the Holy Spirit within Him.  This sin of denying Christ is forgivable for they yet to come to know God, they knew about God in a human sense and had been betrayed by the devil on who He really is.  They were speaking against the Son of Man.

Now the unforgivable sin, how do we delve into this?  To be continued tomorrow as we pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as He leads us to all Truth.

Dear Lord God, I see you operating within scripture and within me as we are journeying through time.  I hear You speak through others to help me understand what is going on within me.  I thank You Father for all the mysteries of Heaven being made available to each of us.   For the joy of knowing You and loving You in words and deeds.  May we be attentive to the promptings of Your Holy Spirit today, may we listen for the insights as You move amongst us.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Week 20 - The Journey Day 4

Week 20 - The Journey Day 4

"If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the holy Spirit to those who ask him?"

The treasures of Heaven giving by the Spirit of the Living God, His Holy Spirit.  Teach us to pray was the comment made to Jesus by one of His disciples.  Jesus tells us to ask, to knock and be persistent in our request.  He tells us to ask for the Advocate, the One who will teach us Truth.  In the quiet of the morning, in the stillness of the day, with a refreshed and rested mind God gives us the best fruit.

Ask for the Spirit of the Living God, listen to His direction and guidance and act upon it.  Our souls seek Heaven, this is where we find peace, in this world we will have troubles and they are only beginning.  Learn how to place your spirit in the presence of God and be persistent daily as He teaches you.  You never stop learning and becoming.  In the morning is when I am closest to Heaven, working on the rest of the day.  Have a blessed day and ask!

What is God saying to me?  I hear you ask and I Am giving, these times are preparation for future events.  Your request will not be lost and I always give the best gifts at the right time.  Enjoy the day that I have prepared for all.

Dear Father, You give the best gifts, my heart is at rest when we are together.  I thank You for the lessons Jesus gives in His word.  I thank You for the desire to continue in our lessons in prayer time and in the events of the day.  Give us the heart of Your Son Jesus to go into a world seeking to deny You.  May Your living Spirit shine through in all that we do.  Thank You Father for the power of prayer and the gifts that come with learning how to pray.  Bless this day and all it holds for each of us.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Week 20 - The Journey Day 3

Week 20 - The Journey Day 3

"At that very moment he rejoiced [in] the holy Spirit and said, "I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:21‬

The word perseverance comes to mind when I read this scripture verse.  Jesus is witnessing His followers, the 72, come back and did what He asked them to do.  Their child like obedience to the word of God has produced fruit.  They were honoring His Father in Heaven, His word in their actions and they cast out demons in His holy name.

Was the Son of Man seeing His word come to life?  Was He overwhelmed with the holy Spirit in what He was hearing and seeing?  Jesus never faltered in His mission even after each set back His faith carried Him forward.  The rejoicing, in my opinion, was the Son of Man, God, knowing that what His intent was, is being fulfilled.  Free will had proven to be fruitful.

What is God saying to me?  In the silence I Am here.

Dear Lord God, Father of all, I thank You for the gift of this day.  It may not go as I intended but it will be what we make of it.  I thank You for gift of Your holy Spirit and the treasures that are available to us when we ponder Your word.  In the stillness and silence You are never far away giving an encouraging word.  Praise be to God, Amen.
