Week 22 - The Journey Day 3

Week 22 - The Journey Day 3

"Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.  Matthew‬ ‭1:20-21‬

Knowledge of God's word reveals truth beyond what we can see in a few verses.  Oral tradition being passed on from one to another until it is written down.  Who told this story of Joesph was it Jesus that shared it with the disciples, was it Mary that shared it.  Joesph's knowledge of God's word and his love for God and His people, he did not live on the letter of the law, he lived the spirit of the law.

Each day at the feet of Jesus with a tiny morsel, His word penetrates our hearts and over time the picture becomes vivid with reality.  Joesph lived his life for God, he knew his lineage, he knew who he belonged to and he knew prophecy.  God seen his righteousness and had prepared him for the task at hand.  A daily prayer life brings you into the heart of God.  Sit and listen.

What is God saying to me?  Your steps are being directed, a faithful follower receives many rewards.

Dear Father, blessing upon blessings are revealed when we sit at Your feet consistently.  Your people know Your word for they live it each day.  Your holy family lives within Your protection and guidance.  Give us the desire and depth to know what has value in Your eyes.  Thank You for the lesson this morning, I know the day is only beginning and there is more to learn.  Prepare each of us for Your glory so others may come to know the Living God, You, that dwells amongst us.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, Pray for us.
St Joesph, illustrious son of David  Pray for us.
