Week 23 - The Journey Day 3

Week 23 - The Journey Day 3

"Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one with whom I am pleased. Upon him I have put my spirit; he shall bring forth justice to the nations."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭42:1‬

As I read Matthew Chapter 12, through Matthew's eyes I seen what he seen.  Jesus is being persecuted for His actions and the actions of others yet He does nothing wrong. It is His response to the persecutions that struck me and I assume Matthew as well.  He doesn't lash out, He accepts what comes at Him and trusts in God for the outcome.  He speaks truth into the darkness in an effort to sway minds with not much success.

Matthew sees scripture being revealed to him.  He sees the gentleness of Jesus and the strength of God operating in the Son of Man.  I wonder how I can get there, for under my own power I am helpless.  Having compassion for others as they unknowingly do the work of another father, the father of evil.  Witnessing Jesus at work helps us understand our own short comings in a world that seeks to bring you down.  Come Lord Jesus and feed the souls of Your faithful.

What is God saying to me?  Give it time, I Am the judge not the son of man.

Dear Father, you see the trials we face each day and the challenges to live as You lived here in earth.  Give us strength to bite our tongue, give us guidance to help another find their way to You.  Teach us justice when we are unjust.  Thank you Father for Matthew's insight, for his ability to look back and record what he was seeing.  To allow the Holy Spirit to operate in his life.  Bless this day Lord, be our eyes, our ears, our thoughts and our actions in all that we do.  In Jesus name, Amen.
