Week 20 - The Journey Day 3
"At that very moment he rejoiced [in] the holy Spirit and said, "I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will." Luke 10:21
The word perseverance comes to mind when I read this scripture verse. Jesus is witnessing His followers, the 72, come back and did what He asked them to do. Their child like obedience to the word of God has produced fruit. They were honoring His Father in Heaven, His word in their actions and they cast out demons in His holy name.
Was the Son of Man seeing His word come to life? Was He overwhelmed with the holy Spirit in what He was hearing and seeing? Jesus never faltered in His mission even after each set back His faith carried Him forward. The rejoicing, in my opinion, was the Son of Man, God, knowing that what His intent was, is being fulfilled. Free will had proven to be fruitful.
What is God saying to me? In the silence I Am here.
Dear Lord God, Father of all, I thank You for the gift of this day. It may not go as I intended but it will be what we make of it. I thank You for gift of Your holy Spirit and the treasures that are available to us when we ponder Your word. In the stillness and silence You are never far away giving an encouraging word. Praise be to God, Amen.
