Week 24 - The Journey Day 1
"The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."" Matthew 28:16-20
Discipleship. In order to go and make disciples you first must be one. I am struck by the eleven disciples, one is missing, one lost his way and chose not to listen to God. I am also struck by their doubt, discipleship requires faith and is not without its moments of doubt. Push on. Jesus has all power in Heaven and on earth.
"I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world."" John 16:33. This life will have its struggles but God has conquered it. In the daily task of sitting with God, learning to listen to Him, you can overcome the world, He did. You will get lost, as Judas did by not listening, it is important to listen.
We are never alone especially when things seem the darkest, God is still there. Push on, the resurrected Christ will make His presence known. You learn this on the journey as things do not go as expected, as you peer into the fog unsure of the next step, push on. Doubt is part of the journey but faith overcomes all doubt, you learn this as well.
What is God saying to me? Push on, I have conquered the world.
Dear Father, thank You for this day, thank You for this message, thank You for Your strength. Each day offers it challenges and each day You offer hope and glory in the resurrection. Thank You for the joy that lives within, for the knowledge that You are God and we are one, as best as I can for it is You that gives me strength. Prayers for a young lady with a drug problem, walk with her Lord and make her whole. Prayers for another fighting the battle of sickness, give her strength and the knowledge that You have conquered all. Bless this day and the hope that it brings to those that faithfully follow You, Your disciples. Amen.
