Week 25 - The Journey Day 1

Week 25 - The Journey Day 1

"I have baptized you with water; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."  Mark‬ ‭1:8‬

Is there two separate and distinct baptism?  One given by man as John the Baptist did and the other given by God?  The answer is yes and I believe and know from experience that the second given by God, you will know and come to understand.

All four Gospels speak of the baptism by water and the Spirit.  We can seek out the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but God is the giver in His time.  You will know.  Your life is transformed, you are made new again, it is the gift of grace but it also comes with responsibilities.  Like a mother nursing an infant at some point the baby is weened off.  You will grow in the Spirit but it is your response to the Holy Spirit, it is a daily journey.

"I did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'On whomever you see the Spirit come down and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the holy Spirit.'"  John‬ ‭1:33‬.  Our relationship with Jesus daily in our victories and our failures, constantly seeking Him out, this is where we grow in the Spirit.  I have been weened off but each day I seek Him out, I sit still and He speaks through scripture.  May we all pause and thank God for where He has us on the journey, He is the vine, we are the branches.
What is God saying to me?  You will not travel alone, I Am always ready to help those who are seeking Me out.  Sunday alone is never enough.

Dear Father, I hear You speak in scripture, I see the words painted in my mind as Your Holy Spirit repeats them into me.  I thank You Lord for the journey, we are all travelers, some going with intention, others blindly walking and You seeking us all out.  Prayers for a good man being operated upon today, may You guide the hands of all involved, may You bring Peace upon all as they journey.  Help us see the gift of life and how precious it really is, nothing can be taken for granted, especially You.  Bless this day, keep us safe and keep us on the narrow road, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Patron Saint of Carpenters, watch over us.
