Week 25 - The Journey Day 3
"At once the Spirit drove him out into the desert, and he remained in the desert for forty days, tempted by Satan. He was among wild beasts, and the angels ministered to him." Mark 1:12-13
Repetition is good for the soul. Jesus, just like the freed slaves of Egypt, was driven into the desert. He handled the temptations much better than they did, He didn't worship any false gods. His walk was with God, He accepted the help that was readily available to Him.
How is your desert experience been or is? Every time we walk away from God, we get to repeat the lesson, repetition is good for the soul. Jesus came so we could have life and have it abundantly. In falling victim in the desert, when we repent of our sins and turn back to God, He forgives. We are among wild beasts everyday, we are among the temptations of the devil, God's angels are there to minister to us, we just have to listen to Him.
Will it be forty days or forty years? Be a quick learner and do not walk in circles in the counsel of fools, listen to God. Avoid the sin, it only entraps you and you get to go another round. Repetition is good for the soul, it is how we learn.
What is God saying to me? With Me the journey is much better, without Me it is a dark desolate place.
Dear Father, repetition is good for the soul, You repeat Yourself over and over so we may learn the lesson. From the beginning of time, You have been guiding mankind to find true Joy in You. Thank You Father for loving us even when we fall into temptation, thank You for the sacrament of confession, for the knowledge of knowing You are forgiving and merciful and not without justice. Prayers for a friend who fell into temptation, may they have learned the lesson and not repeat it for it goes against Your perfect will. Bless this day Father and all it has to offer, thank You for the generosity of Your angels ministering to us. Amen.
Mary, conceived without sin, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Most Chaste Spouse, Pray for us.
