Week 26 - The Journey Day 6
"Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last." Mark 15:37
The Son of Man had done all He could do as man. He was obedient to His Fathers voice, He spoke Truth into the darkness and He accepted the sins of all who ever sought forgiveness and received our just punishment. What was the loud cry for? Could it be the knowledge of knowing that some would not accept God's forgiveness, they would live a life serving self. Could it be that they got caught in the devils snare by their own choices and as much as He tried, it was their own decision to deny the divinity of Christ.
His last breath was spent on saving souls, on doing the Fathers will. What will your last breath be like? Will it be gasping for air trying to hang on to an earthly life or will it be one of acceptance. Acceptance of the knowledge that He died for You, of knowing that once you accepted this knowledge you became one of the workers in the vineyard. We will all face this last breath, Jesus did exactly as our Father in Heaven wanted His son to do.
What is God saying to me? Drink it all in.
Dear Father, it can be somber thinking about Your Sons last breath but His death was not in vain. He gave all for all, in hopes of reaching all and trusting in You for the outcome. Help us live each day as if it were our last, help us live in peace of mind and soul. If our spirit is troubled help us confess the sin that leads to death, help us seek forgiveness from You and forgive self. Thank You God for paying all the same once they enter the vineyard, our job is nothing like Your Sons was. In Jesus name, Amen.
