Week 25 - The Journey Day 2

Week 25 - The Journey Day 2

"On coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:10-11‬

Mark is the only one who begins his Gospel with the baptism of Jesus. (Matthew 3:13-17, Luke 3:21-23, John 1:32-33).  The Son of God did not need baptized, He did not need the Holy Spirit, He is the Holy Spirit, He is the Trinity, three in One and One in Three.  What is the significance of Jesus's baptism?  God does not make His presence known until we humble ourselves and come to Him.

Jesus is anointed with the Holy Spirit, He begins His public ministry.  Mark started here and truth be known that is where we begin.  Nothing happens in our lives until we humble ourselves and come to God.  He can knock but we must answer.  Jesus shows us the way, He tells us to follow Him.  Living in the world is easy, it just happens, we fall victim to its ways.  To follow God takes effort, it takes will power, it takes humility to allow God to operate within.  "Then he said to me: "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, and not by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts."  Zechariah‬ ‭4:6‬.  Come Holy Spirit Come.  (Ask)

What is God saying to me?  I see you and I know you are trying that is all I ask, it isn't punishment, it is education.

Dear Father, in the world we have troubles, with You we do not.  Give me a holy fear of who You are, give me a willing will and a receptive ear.  Give me will power to say no when not from You and yes when it is from You.  Prayers for a friend battling Covid symptoms, prayers for another with sloth.  Holy God, Mighty God, Immortal God leads us along the narrow path.  Amen.

Mary, Mother Most Pure, Pray for us.
St Joesph, Most Strong, Pray for us.
