Daily Thoughts 3-31-2017 John 7:27

"But we know where he is from. When the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from."" John‬ ‭7:27‬

How easily they were deceived, Jesus was in their midst and they did not see the Christ.  The devil had them convinced this wasn't their savior but their enemy.   What areas of your life does the devil got you deceived?   Are you finding peace and comfort when you should be out plowing in the field?  The word of God is truth and feeds you for when Christ does come.  Be prepared so you will know the Master and be brought into His glory.

Dear Lord Jesus, Your word feeds us and gives us strength.  Those working in the vineyards provide nourishment for the body and the soul, bless their efforts Lord.  Help us call on Christ when we are in need and not in need.  Jesus, You are my strength, pour Your spirit into the world that we may believe You are the Christ, the one sent to redeem the World and each of us.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Christ, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 3-30-2017 John 5:36

"But I have testimony greater than John's. The works that the Father gave me to accomplish, these works that I perform testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me." John‬ ‭5:36‬

To witness the work of God is a beautiful thing.  To see His healing hands breath life into a spirit that desires to know Him is amazing.  What works has the Father given you to accomplish?  To whom much is given, much is expected.  Each day we are to go out into the world and testify to the greatness of our God with our lives.  These are small actions but mighty deeds, be the change your neighbor needs to believe.

Dear Lord God, my soul rejoices for Your wonderful actions.  The Spirit moves each of us differently may we listen and follow.  May we heed your voice Lord Jesus and help build Your kingdom one person at a time.  Give peace and comfort to your servants and bless their hands with Your Holy Spirit.  Add more to Your numbers Lord, help is needed.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-29-2017 John 5:17

"But Jesus answered them, "Even now, my Father is working, and I am working."" ‭‭John‬ ‭5:17‬

Did Jesus ever play it safe?  No, He told it like it was.  He knew the Pharisees and Scribes would be challenged by what He said and He said it anyway.  Do you give an answer for your joy?  This is The Father at work in You, for you see what Jesus sees.  Jesus has no body but yours, let Him work through you.  "Therefore, set this in your hearts: that you should not consider in advance how you might respond."
‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:14‬

Dear Heavenly Father, it is not my will be done but thy will be done.  Send us Your Holy Spirit and reside within our hearts.  Give us the wisdom and vision to respond as Your son Jesus would.  Thank You for the blessings of rain this morning.  Keep us out of harms way today and may You always be in our thoughts.  In Jesus name, amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-28-2017 John 5:8

"Jesus said to him, "Get up, pick up your pallet and walk."" John‬ ‭5:8‬

Do you notice when Jesus cures, He speaks with authority and gives clear direction.  The person being cured hears the voice of God and then responds.  The one being cured has belief and free will.  God allows them to respond and then take action.  It is their own action that allows Jesus to cure them.  We live at a time that people want others to do it for them but that isn't how God works.  This morning He says: Get up, pick up your pallet and walk

Dear Lord Jesus, Your direction is clear and precise.  May we hear Your voice today and heed Your call.  Remove the noise in our lives so we may hear You more clearly.  I thank You Lord for the blessings of Your people.  I thank You Lord for the miracles that You allow us to witness.  May today we hear Your voice and follow You.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-27-2017 John 4:50

"Jesus said to him, "Go; your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off." John‬ ‭4:50‬

The man believed, why?  He had faith in Jesus, he knew what ever Jesus said was truth.  He had no way of knowing since he was quite a distance from his son.  Do we believe in what Jesus says?   Do we take Him at His word?  If so then there will be action in our being.  The man started off and so will we.  The Word of God is always true, we just have to believe.

Dear Lord Jesus, help my unbelief in my moments of doubt.  Over come my fear when called into actions.  Help me see there must be action before the outcome is realized.  Bless this day Lord, bless the Men's gathering this evening.  Heal those who are ill Lord, may Your Spirit heal them.  May we all Go where You tell us to go, we Believe.  Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-26-2017 Ephesians 5:14

"For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you."" Ephesians‬ ‭5:14‬

Jesus calls us forth, he makes the blind see.  It is Christ that gives us hope, hope in our eternal future.  Sometimes it takes us awhile to wake up, we don't always jump up ready for action.  Christ allows us to grow, to grow in our faith and love for Him.  The entire time He shines His light on you so you may grow, always keep Jesus as your focus and allow the light of Christ to work thru you.

Dear Lord Jesus, You call us forward, You call us into a relationship with You each day.  May we hear Your voice and see what You ask of us each day.  This life is a journey from the darkness into the light, may I continue to awaken to Your call and follow Your direction.  I thank You Lord for a blessed morning, to hear Your word and most especially to be able to receive Your most blessed Body and Blood in the Eucharist at mass. Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-26-2017 Luke 1:28

"And upon entering, the Angel said to her: "Hail, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women."" ‭Luke‬ ‭1:28‬

Full of grace, the temple of the Lord is always full of grace.  Grace is something that God gives us if we are willing and open.  The challenges of life can get in the way of God's grace, Mary, never let anything defeat her.  She carried Jesus with her all the time.  She was full of grace for she witnessed her flesh and blood get crucified and never lost faith.  She accepted what ever happened in her life for she knew it would glorify God, the one she loved. What about you, will you accept God's grace in all your trials?

Come Holy Spirit, over shadow me with Your gentle wisdom and power as I endeavor to sit at the feet of Jesus during this period of prayer. Purify my mind and heart as I seek to make the teachings of Jesus my priority in life, thinking, speaking and doing as He desires.  You are the keeper of my soul, leading me into God's heart.  May I be docile and submissive to your wisdom and guidance, and may my life be a pleasing offering in your sight, through Christ our Lord, Amen.  Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all!

Daily Thoughts 3-24-2017 Mark 12:33

"And 'to love him with all your heart, with all your understanding, with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself' is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." Mark‬ ‭12:33‬

Do you love God with all your heart, I can say yes but as I ponder this verse I can see that even though I love Him with all my heart, there are areas that I do not give Him dominion.  Sin is devious it looks for the cracks and tries to break in.   God calls us to do more than go through the motions, He asks us to live our lives with Him at the center all the time not 90%, or 95% or even 99.9% of the time but all the time.

Father, he who knew no sin was made sin for us, to save us and restore us to your friendship. Look upon our contrite heart and afflicted spirit and heal our troubled conscience, so that in the joy and strength of the Holy Spirit we may proclaim your praise and glory before all the nations.  Lord, You are so good to us, Thank You.  Amen

Daily Thoughts 3-23-2017 Luke 11:17

"But he knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:17‬

Attacks from within are never good, they end up in destruction unless there is common ground found.  Even still there is a building process that must begin again.  Jesus is telling us to guard our hearts and our thoughts.  The only kingdom that we want is His, so each day put on your armor of prayer, spend time refreshing the soul and spirit.  Be able to call Jesus friend, then you and Him will be of like mind and He will defeat what ever comes your way.  There is no one greater than our God!

Dear Lord Jesus, guard our hearts and our spirits, help us call upon the Holy Spirit so we may hear Your voice.  Bless our marriages with peace, help us find common ground and help us keep You and our relationship with God number one in our lives and our marriages.   Strengthen Your loved ones each day as we draw closer to You and Your Kingdom.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-22-2017 Deuteronomy 4:7

"For what great nation is there that has gods so close to it as the LORD, our God, is to us whenever we call upon him?" ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:7‬

There is no other god like our God, He feeds His people when we call upon Him.  The god of money doesn't feed you, the god of fame doesn't satisfy, our God fulfills His promise.  Continue on the journey of life and call upon God, He hears you and gives you what you need.  You are a community of believers, your faith is contagious so give it away, share the joy that God gives you.  Be the great nation so others may see the glory of our God.

Dear Lord God, increase our faith, You are the provider of all our needs.  May we focus on today and not let the troubles of tomorrow weigh us down.  You have always provided in the past and will do so in the future.  Bless this day with Your presence in our lives, may we glorify You with our actions today.  Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-21-2017 Daniel 3:40

"So let our sacrifice be in your presence today and find favor before you; for those who trust in you cannot be put to shame." Daniel‬ ‭3:40‬

Forgiveness, why is it we have a hard time forgiving ourselves?  If God has forgiven you then why would you carry that burden?  See what God sees, go spend time in the presence of God and let Him gaze upon you.  What does He see?  A contrite and humble heart so stop holding yourself hostage to the past, move on and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

Dear Lord Jesus, You strengthen us for the journey.  Give us hope for tomorrow, allow us to see the traps the devil is trying to lay in our paths so we can go around.  Remove the things that impede us as you gaze upon Your creation.  Send us Your Holy Spirit to be our guide and confidant in a world that needs so much more of You.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-20-2017 Matthew 1:20-21

"Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." Matthew‬ ‭1:20-21‬

The father of Jesus, I wonder what Joseph was thinking when the angel told him, he will save his people from their sins?  As a father, we want the best for our children and we anticipate greatness for them.  We see their successes and failures but always know they are capable of great things.  Did Joseph know how Jesus would accomplish what the angel told him?  I doubt it, but Joesph prepared Jesus for manhood, so Jesus could do what was destined for him.  We have the same responsibilities for our own children, to prepare them for their future.  Are you following the example Joesph left us?

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

"The Samaritan woman said to him, "How can you, a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?" (For Jews use nothing in common with Samaritans.)" John‬ ‭4:9‬

You ever notice how history repeats itself?  The Samaritan's and Jew's are related by Abraham and Sarah, now they don't get along.  God is the common denominator, this is true today as well.  Jesus challenges us to reach out, He didn't confine Himself to just His people.  With Jesus there are no boundaries, are we not all made in the image of God and made to worship Him.

Dear Lord Jesus, You are there to teach us the wisdom of Your ways.  May we be attentive to the lessons You have for us today.   May we see beyond the cultural differences and treat everyone with respect and dignity.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-18-2017 Luke 15:18

"I shall get up and go to my father and I shall say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭15:18‬

The entrapment of sin, we must realize what we are doing is sin before we will seek help.  The lost son ran off and squandered his inheritance freely without thought of the consequences.  Then when he had time to reflect upon his situation, he realized the life he once had was a good one and much better than his current.  Sin entices but it also creates a future we do not want.  The Father is always waiting upon our return with open arms.

Dear Triune God, the gifts you give are done freely and all around us.  They offer joy, peace and happiness, help me sit still and reflect, help me ponder the past and the future, and help me concentrate on this day.   You are a loving Father that seeks some of our time and gifts, may I never neglect to accept Your counsel.   I ask this in The name of Your most holy Son, Jesus, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-17-2017 Matthew 21:43

"Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21:43‬

There is clarity in reading God's word early in the morning, the light that shines is amazing.  We are each called to go into the vineyard and produce fruit.  Our lives hear on earth are but a moment.  What drives you, is it money?  What fruit are you trying to produce?   The world tells you to consume, God tells you to store your treasure in Heaven.  Give back to the Master, spend time in helping others. Give of yourself and do not produce the fruit of this world or the kingdom of God will be taken from you.  Who's vineyard are you harvesting, yours or the Masters.

Happy St Patrick's day!!
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

May God bless you on this beautiful day.

"Then Abraham said, 'If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.'"" ‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:31‬

Jesus was resurrected, do you listen to Him.  He warns us to be careful and choose the right path.  The rich man thought he had a pretty good life, he spent it taking care of himself.  The entire time he stepped over Lazarus, a man in need.  We each choose our own path in life, does your choice include following God?

Dear Lord, You know the pain I carry this morning, You know my desires and thoughts, I pray for the rich man who is lost in the world.  I pray for the poor man who is living hell here on earth.  Lord only You know how to reach the hearts of men, I ask that Your joy penetrate the hearts that are in need, and we are all in need. I ask this in Jesus, the resurrected Christ, raised from the dead, so we may find our way home, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-15-2017 Matthew 20:27

"whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave." Matthew‬ ‭20:27‬

To be a slave that isn't something the world holds as a place of honor, God does.  We have many great examples, Mother Teresa, Saint Francis, Padre Pio, Jesus.  To them it wasn't slavery, it was a labor of love.  They weren't striving to be first, they were doing what God asked them to do.  Are you able to offer yourself to God, to be at His service, if so the banquet will be prepared for you.  Do you see the opportunities God puts in front of you?

Dear Lord Jesus, we were all created for a special purpose in Your plan, may we set aside the things that impede our growth.  Pride and envy have no place in Heaven, may I not fall victim to these traps.  Thank You for the beautiful weather and the freshness in the air.  Lord, may I do Your will today and not worry about tomorrow, may I accomplish what is placed in front of me today.  I thank You for answered prayer.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"Those who offer praise as a sacrifice honor me" ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭50:23‬

We are in lent, how are you praising God?  Are you sacrificing your time to help others?  Are you sacrificing a meal and giving it to someone in need?  Are you sacrificing your talent and providing a gift for someone in need?  How are you honoring God, do you need to do anything different?  God knows how to reach our hearts, His word speaks to us.

Dear Lord Jesus, It is You that gives us all good things.  You give us time to grow.  You give us breath so we can live.  You gave us Your Son so we can have eternal life.   You sacrificed greatly for each of us.  May my life be a gift back to you.  May You bring me back when I wander and may today be one day closer to You.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, my Lord and redeemer.

Daily Thoughts 3-13-2017 Luke 6:37

""Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:37‬

Do you consider your own actions, they have a way of coming back to you.  God tells us, be merciful just as your Heavenly Father is merciful.  We have the ability to control our own outcome, how you respond has a direct response on your life.   Jesus stands with arms wide open, inviting all to Him, even those who condemn Him.  He forgives the unforgivable, He doesn't condemn, He welcomes. You are causing some of the issues in your life and you have the power to change how you respond.  Think before firing back.

Dear Lord Jesus, You are a merciful God, always ready to forgive.  Lead me this day away from wanting to condemn, lead me to love my neighbor and be compassionate to my enemy.  Help me forgive when I don't want to.  I thank You for Your grace in thinking before responding, to slow down and consider how my actions determine the outcome.  Lord, I only want to please You this day, be at my side, lead me and guard me, in Jesus name, Amen.

"The LORD said to Abram: Go forth from your land, your relatives, and from your father's house to a land that I will show you." ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:1‬

Can you imagine leaving everything behind that you know to venture off into a foreign land you know nothing about.  Abram was a faithful servant, for him and God spoke regularly and he trusted God completely.   Abram, started over and because of his faith, his descendants are more numerous than the stars in the sky.   God speaks to each of us, what is He telling you?  What does your faith say to others?

Dear Lord Jesus, Your ways are perfect.  I pray that I can have the faith that Abram has.  Bless this day Lord with opportunity to bless You and those that are within my care.  I am thankful for all Your guidance and direction in my life.  I am thankful to leave the lions den and not be corrupted.   Lord, allow me to listen, trust and follow Your voice.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-11-2017 Isaiah 1:16a

"Wash yourselves clean!" Isaiah‬ ‭1:16‬a

We live in a culture that doesn't want you to think about sin.  It wants you to believe that there is no harm in sin.  The Holy Spirit that lives within each of us convicts us of wrong doing but it is us who must respond.  We are given the responsibility to cleanse ourselves of wrong doing.  When was the last time you went to confession? In the Catholic faith we have the ability to go to a priest and receive this Sacrament.  There is a grace that we receive knowing that we confessed to Jesus and received absolution.  It is like the feeling you have after taking a shower when you were at the beach all day.  You have been washed clean, there is no feeling like it!

Dear Lord Jesus, Your Holy Spirit within us cries out for help.  Our souls feel the pain of sin and seeks to be cleansed.  Heal our spirits Lord, bring newness into our souls, wash us clean from all of the impurities of this world and the sin that inflicts pain.  You are a loving God and I pray Your Spirit heals the broken hearted.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 3-10-2017 Matthew 5:25

"Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court with him. Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge, and the judge will hand you over to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison."
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:25‬

Will we not all be judged?    "I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power:" 2 Timothy‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭In the Catholic faith we believe in purgatory, a place to be cleansed before being in the presence of God.  "But he refused. Instead, he had him put in prison until he paid back the debt." Matthew‬ ‭18:30‬. We make choices each day that are in agreement with God or at odds with Him.  He will not condemn us, our actions will.  A lot of people believe once saved always saved.  So are your actions making God an opponent or friend?   I will pay what ever debt I owe.

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In his name, my God, have mercy.

Daily Thoughts 3-9-2017 Esther C:30

"O God, whose power is over all, hear the voice of those in despair. Save us from the power of the wicked, and deliver me from my fear."" Esther‬ ‭C:30‬

Do you call upon God for help?  Queen Esther had worldly power but she bows before God and asks for help.   She humbles herself knowing that it is God that can give what she needs.  As I look around there are a lot of people that can be filled with pride.  They fall victim to the wickedness of the world, not realizing the hold it has.  Remember God is always there to help when you ask.  Ask and He will answer you.

Dear Lord God, I bow before You and thank You for the graces You provide.  I thank You for Your strength each day. You know my weaknesses and fears, overcome those with Your Almighty power.   I am but a humble servant who slips and falls but always willing to get up and go again.  It is You I seek Lord, only You can provide the happiness I desire.   I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

"While still more people gathered in the crowd, he said to them, "This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of Jonah." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:29‬

The Son of Man is our sign yet most don't hear Him or choose to continue as normal.  Does it take disaster for man to turn to God and seek Him.  Even with Jesus in our midst with His teachings, our own desires take over. God is merciful but we must seek His mercy, He isn't going to beat us over the head with it.  When life appears to be good we continue down the wide road that leads to destruction.  What sign will you need to repent and change your ways?

Dear Heavenly Father, the day shines brightly as I continue again.  I seek Your comfort and knowledge, guide my thoughts this day and teach me.  Show me Your ways and keep us out of harms way.  Surround us with Your angels of protection.  Be ever on our lips to always give an account for our happiness.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer, Amen.

Our hope in tomorrow is only promised thru Jesus, our Savior.  As much as things change the seem to stay the same.  Not saying we don't change but the world strives for itself.  How do you respond to the challenges that come your way?  Do you react quickly or do you ponder and think it thru.  God has it under control, how you respond will determine your future.  "the work of each will come to light, for the Day will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire [itself] will test the quality of each one's work."
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:13‬.  So in the words of Mother Teresa "Do good anyway"

Dear Lord Jesus, You are the living bread that feeds our souls in a world that strives to interfere.  May I always hear Your message, may I turn to Your word and seek counsel.  I ask for Your help and guidance today and may I hear You speak thru others.  May the light of Christ shine thru the darkness and feed those in need. In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 3-6-2017 Matthew 25:34

"Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."  ‭Matthew‬ ‭25:34‬

God does not withhold anything from us, we are each blessed tremendously by Him.   What do we do with that blessing?  Do we use it for the good of His kingdom or the good of our kingdom, there is a difference.  Adam and Eve have free will and so do we.  Do we help our neighbors, do we reach out to those in need, do we protect those in our care?   How we respond to God's love is important, ignore it and:  "And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." ‭Matthew‬ ‭25:46‬

Dear Heavenly Father, bless this day with insight, may I not miss any of Your blessings.  I ask for Your words and thoughts when I see someone in need, physically or spiritually.  Watch over those in my protection Lord, keep them out of harms way and guide them closer to You.  Bless my friends Lord with grace and understanding to grow deeper with You.  I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 3-5-2017 Romans 5:19

"For just as through the disobedience of one person the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one the many will be made righteous." Romans‬ ‭5:19‬

Did Eve disobey God in the garden?  It was Adan who God made the covenant with, He was the one God told not to eat of the tree of Wisdom. Why did Adam not stop Eve, She is bone of his bone and he is to protect her.  Eve did wrong but it was Adam who brought the knowledge of good and evil, he didn't stop Eve.  Thank God, God doesn't give up on us.  If it not for the blood of Jesus we would be banned from spending eternity with God.   Are you in a covenant relationship blessed by God?  Are you committed to the person God gave you to watch over and protect?

Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You this morning for the woman You have given me to journey through life, she is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.  We don't always see eye to eye but we are committed to our covenant with You.  May the love of Christ continues to bless our marriage and our family.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Ark of the Covenant, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 3-4-2017 Isaiah 58:10

"If you lavish your food on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted; Then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom shall become like midday;" ‭Isaiah‬ ‭58:10‬

Can you make a difference?  I struggled this morning to pick a verse to reflect upon.  I just sat in the silence and listened, no real thoughts coming to mind except one.  A prayer a friend shared with me.  This seemed to just populate my thoughts.  When we give to others even when it isn't in us, their lives are better and so is yours.  God calls us to share our food, to give to the hungry.  I was hungry this morning and because a friend shared his spiritual food, there is light in my thoughts.  What can you share today that will make a difference?

Dear Lord Jesus, it is You that gives us light, You make our days brighter.  I pray I can follow Your direction, listen in the silence and hear You speak with no words.  Bless this day Lord, bring peace to those afflicted today and bless the man who shared his food with me.  In Jesus name, Amen.

The difference

I got up early one morning
and rushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish
that I didn't have time to pray.

Problems just tumbled about me,
and heavier came each task.
"Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered.
He answered, "You didn't ask."

I wanted to see joy and beauty,
but the day toiled on, gray and bleak;
I wondered why God didn't show me.
He said, "But you didn't seek."

I tried to come into God's presence;
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided,
"My child, you didn't knock."

I woke up early this morning,
and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish
that I had to take time to pray.

Daily Thoughts 3-3-2017 Matthew 9:15

"Jesus answered them, "Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:15‬

Who is the bride?  The Church. What makes up the Church?  The wedding guests - us.  Do you fast?  It is written in the Bible that we are to fast.  To deny ourselves, to give something up for a period of time.  Fasting is a good reflection of where you are on your spiritual journey.  Your mind tells you to eat but you deny your will and follow God's will.  Fasting gives us strength for the journey. You would think it would make you weak but it does the opposite.  It prepares the mind and soul to obey God and not man.  We all need more spiritual food, strength that saves.

Dear Lord, I give You control today, it is You whom I seek to make happy.  This is only the beginning of the journey, it is our relationship with You that we are to get right.  Help me honor You today in body and soul. Strengthen the spirit Lord to overcome the mind.  You are my strength.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 3-2-2017 Matthew 4:17

"From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."" ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:17‬

Choice, we all have them, we will decide today on many things.  Does your choices reflect the thought that the kingdom of heaven is at hand.  Our decisions lead us down a path, either towards God or away.  Jesus is calling you, He never stops calling.    He seeks the lost and the lonely, the meek and the proud.  Jesus is saying come home, turn back to me.  You are not promised tomorrow and today is a gift.  Engage God in your life today because the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Dear Lord Jesus, You show us the way, You take us by the hand and lead us to the Father.  May I hear You calling and may I follow, carrying what ever You give me to carry.  You are my strength Lord, it is You that I seek.  Bless this day with peace.  May my efforts not be in vain and may they draw me closer to You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Jesus, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 3-1-2017 2 Corinthians 5:20

"So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God." 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:20

Did you know today is Ash Wednesday, do you know this tradition dates back to 325 AD.  Ashes are an outward sign of our faith in Christ and His Church.  God does appeal through each of us, our faith in Christ increases with hearing and with seeing, seeing the faith of others.  Jesus spent time to prepare Himself, the next forty days how are you going to take an account of your faith? How are you going to deny self?  What will make a difference in your life and the lives of others.  Be an ambassador of Christ and profess your faith, God is appealing through you.

Dear Lord Jesus, today we begin a journey to draw closer to You.  We begin to deny self to learn of your suffering on the cross for us.  May I be ever mindful of my sins, may I be repentant and draw upon Your strength.  You suffered greatly for each of us, so we could gain eternal salvation, increase our faith Lord and may we be a pleasing offering in Your site this Lenten season.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, Amen.

Mary, Full of Grace, pray for us.
