Daily Thoughts 3-20-2017 Matthew 1:20-21

"Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." Matthew‬ ‭1:20-21‬

The father of Jesus, I wonder what Joseph was thinking when the angel told him, he will save his people from their sins?  As a father, we want the best for our children and we anticipate greatness for them.  We see their successes and failures but always know they are capable of great things.  Did Joseph know how Jesus would accomplish what the angel told him?  I doubt it, but Joesph prepared Jesus for manhood, so Jesus could do what was destined for him.  We have the same responsibilities for our own children, to prepare them for their future.  Are you following the example Joesph left us?

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Mary, Husband to Joesph, pray for us.
