Daily Thoughts 3-3-2017 Matthew 9:15

"Jesus answered them, "Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:15‬

Who is the bride?  The Church. What makes up the Church?  The wedding guests - us.  Do you fast?  It is written in the Bible that we are to fast.  To deny ourselves, to give something up for a period of time.  Fasting is a good reflection of where you are on your spiritual journey.  Your mind tells you to eat but you deny your will and follow God's will.  Fasting gives us strength for the journey. You would think it would make you weak but it does the opposite.  It prepares the mind and soul to obey God and not man.  We all need more spiritual food, strength that saves.

Dear Lord, I give You control today, it is You whom I seek to make happy.  This is only the beginning of the journey, it is our relationship with You that we are to get right.  Help me honor You today in body and soul. Strengthen the spirit Lord to overcome the mind.  You are my strength.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
