Today we celebrate the feast of the visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Mary believed, she believed before she said yes. She is the first Christian and she did what Christians are called to do. She brought Jesus to her cousin Elizabeth and now she believes. Mary honors God by her actions, she recognizes her mission. Mary sets an example for each of us to go out and share the joy that we have. To bring life to those that are seeking, to bring a ray of hope to the down trodden. You carry the same Jesus she gave birth to and Holy is His name.
Dear Lord God, You bless us with Your family, may we honor You as they did. Help us today as we go into the world to live Your word. May we feel the same joy Mary and Elizabeth felt when they first met. Open our hearts to Your Holy Spirit, prepare us for the day and may each of us be able to say "The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name." Luke 1: 49. Amen.
