Psalms 34:4-5 3-31-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Magnify the LORD with me; and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he answered me, delivered me from all my fears." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:4-5‬

Day 25 of our Lenten journey: I think about the prodigal son this morning and it wasn't until he had lost everything did God come into focus.  We can become distracted in this world but we must be aware of our senses and have a keen focus on God.  There is a joy in living in the presence of God all the time.  In our moments of despair, they are really Holy moments because the answer is none other than God.  He will deliver you from all your fears.  As the first line of the Psalms says, "Magnify the LORD with me", Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  Lose the distractions and focus on God.

Dear Lord, WOW, You are Almighty, You are Wonderful Counselor, You are real and You listen to each of us.  Thank You Father for Your graces that are being given, Thank You for the peace in a sea that can toss us about.  Thank You for allowing us to push through our fears and overcoming our weaknesses with the Body of Christ.  Prayers for a friend being tossed about in the sea who is developing his keen focus on You, may they recognize the brilliance of You at action in their lives.  Your timing is always perfect, may we continue to walk in Your favor.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, my LORD and Savior.  Amen.

Mary, Queen of Angels, pray for us.

Hosea 6:1 3-30-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

""Come, let us return to the LORD, For it is he who has torn, but he will heal us; he has struck down, but he will bind our wounds." ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭6:1‬

Day 24 of our Lenten journey:  Do you let God minister to you?  We get ourselves into situation because we do not consult God, we blindly go forward and then we are lost or impacted greatly.  Jesus on His journey consulted with His Father everyday.  He brought all to prayer and did not attempt anything on His own.  Let us return to the Lord with all our joys, all our hurts and all our challenges.  Nothing is ever forced upon you from above only our own error of judgement.  Choose wisely.

Dear Father, I love the Teacher, I love the lessons You are teaching especially when we turn to You for direction or help.  Thank You Triune God for Your guidance, thank You for Your grace that is readily available when we ask for it.  Prayers for those being misguided by false gods.  You are worthy, You are holy and You are mighty.  Amen.

Mark 12:28-30 3-29-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"One of the scribes, when he came forward and heard them disputing and saw how well he had answered them, asked him, "Which is the first of all the commandments?" Jesus replied, "The first is this: 'Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.'" ‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:28-30‬

Day 23 of our Lenten journey: Jesus first gets our attention: "Hear, O Israel!", what He is about to say is important then He tells us, ""No one can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." Matthew‬ ‭6:24‬.  A different way of saying: The Lord our God is Lord alone!  I must decrease so he can increase.  Love in any relationship requires us to take "I" and replace it with the other, therefore the need to listen.  Grow deeper in love with God through listening.  And when we are listening we will: "Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will act" Psalms‬ ‭37:5‬.  God gave us His Son, He will give you what you need, listen and love Him with all your heart.

Dear Father, You inflame my heart to know You more and more, in knowing You, I am changing and becoming Your other self.  Thank You for Your love and Your patience.  I lift up a brother under the influence of addiction, may the hounds of Heaven not stop until He is home safely in Your Sacred Heart.  Prayers for my guardian angel, and all those sent to protect us.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Jeremiah 7:23 3-28-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"This rather is what I commanded them: Listen to my voice; then I will be your God and you shall be my people. Walk exactly in the way I command you, so that you may prosper." ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭7:23‬

Day 22 of our Lenten journey:  If today you hear His voice harden not your hearts.  "Listen to my voice", do we invite God into our lives every single day.  If we are not practicing sitting in the silence and pondering His thoughts, how do we expect to be able to hear Him in the busyness of life.  Hearing God, takes practice, we have to invite Him in and give Him time.  A relationship only works when both are attentive to each other, God is always present but we on the other hand can be going 100 miles an hour.  We will eventually slow down when things go south, maybe we ask "why me", and there is God saying I have been trying to tell you but you aren't listening.  He speaks, we have to listen and then respond with action.  Jesus, I trust in You.

Dear Father, I enjoy our conversations and you helping me figure out the situations in my life.  Even in the difficult situations there is peace in moving forward when we are in communion. Thank You Father for all those that are listening, I can see the impact they are having around them.  "but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more," ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:20‬b.  Bless this day Father, watch over us and protect us.  Keep us grounded in Your word and may we hear you speaking so we may not get lost in the weeds.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us, your children!

Deuteronomy 4:5-6 3-27-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"See, I am teaching you the statutes and ordinances as the LORD, my God, has commanded me, that you may observe them in the land you are entering to possess. Observe them carefully, for this is your wisdom and discernment in the sight of the peoples, who will hear of all these statutes and say, This great nation is truly a wise and discerning people.  For what great nation is there that has gods so close to it as the LORD, our God, is to us whenever we call upon him?" Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:5-7

Day 21 of our Lenten journey:  Would Moses Words be any different today if he were here amongst us.  He would see the same as he did back in his day, a people worshiping their gods or their version of god.  He tells us the path of truth, to worship The True God, to obey His commandments.  If we are to live in peace, we will honor our God, live by His ordinances and we will be a wise and discerning people.   The proof will be in the pudding as they say.  But if we continue worshiping what ever small g god, then we will wander in the desert and not know the cause of our afflictions, once again the proof is in the pudding.   Truth stands the test of time even if it is the 21st century.

Dear Father, You look down from heaven and see some lost in the desert and you also see a people honoring You with their lives.  Open our eyes to the proof of Your existence in those that walk this earth with lives of dedicated love.  Help us discern Your word and how it applies to our daily lives so we may become wiser and better prepared for the obstacles of the day.  Thank You Father for listening and responding with a path forward.  May I apply Your teachings with love and understanding.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Matthew 18:21-22 3-26-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then Peter approaching asked him, "Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?" Jesus answered, "I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times." Matthew‬ ‭18:21-22‬

Day 20 of our Lenten journey:  Forgiveness, we receive it each time we go to our Father if we are contrite of heart, no matter how many times we go back He is there with open arms wanting to forgive us as we return.  How do we respond to others who continue in their offenses, do we pass judgement upon them?  Do we condemn them or do we accept them as our Father does when they go to Him?  Love the sinner, hate the sin, do not confuse the two.  It is hard to understand why some continue in their sinful ways but we must be Christ like and continue to love them and forgive them otherwise our burden is greater.  "So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives his brother from his heart."" ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:35‬

Dear Father God, Thank You for the graces that you have poured out upon us, thank You for allowing us the grace of acceptance.  I pray for those that have yet to accept Your grace in their lives.  Prayers for a willing heart to look beyond the offense and see Your creation.  Thank You for preparing this day, may I go and do Your will and not mine today.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Luke 1:32 3-25-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father," Luke‬ ‭1:32‬

Day 19 of our Lenten journey: The feast of the annunciation, God has His own reveal party, foretelling who was coming.  Do we ponder in our hearts what these words mean to us?  Is He great in our life's?  I watch as people pay no attention to God, living busy lives with God not being the Son of the Most High, but the Son of I am too busy for You.  Do we give God His rightful place in our lives, do we pay Him homage, do we give Him time.  Our Blessed Mother did, she worships Him and points us towards Him.  Spend time pondering the annunciation, how are you revealing Him to the world especially those who look up to you for leadership and guidance.

Dear Father, I Love You with all my heart, I pray for a world that is too busy to pay attention to You.  I pray for a world that feels pain when they do not place You first in their lives, they do not see the cause but feel the effect.  You are Almighty, who came so we might have eternal life.  Come Holy Spirit and open our minds and hearts to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  May we ponder in our hearts what these words mean to us.  Thank You for Your direction this morning and the desire to serve You, use me this week where You are needed.  I ask this through Jesus Christ, Amen.

Luke 13:8-9 3-24-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"He said to him in reply, 'Sir, leave it for this year also, and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it; it may bear fruit in the future. If not you can cut it down.'" ‭‭Luke‬ ‭13:8-9‬

Day 18 of our Lenten journey:  Imagine the fig tree is your soul, you are the gardener and God the Father is the cultivator, Jesus is the Master Gardner and the Holy Spirit is the fertilizer.  The tree needs tending, it needs water, it needs weeded and it needs pruned.  How many times do we, the one who cares for the tree, turn to the Triune God for help.  What happens when we don't, the weeds choke out the good nutrients, the tree gets over grown, it becomes dry and weary and it doesn't produce any fruit.  You are the gardener, the more you care for your soul, the more the tree grows and in due season produces much fruit.  Cultivate the ground with the Word of God each day, feed the soul with truth which eliminates the weeds and sit in His presence each day.  The choice is yours.

Dear Triune God, I love being pruned and cared for by the Master Gardener there is much to learn and I, Your servant need what You can provide.  Over come my weakness's of apathy and sleuth to not neglect caring for my soul.  Your Son shines on all but those who are listening are fed the best.  Bless this day Father, thank You for tilling the ground and breathing new life into us that have been asleep.  To You be the Glory for ever and ever, Amen.

Psalms 103:10 3-23-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"He has not dealt with us as our sins merit, nor requited us as our wrongs deserve." Psalms‬ ‭103:10‬

Day 17 of our Lenten journey:"Turn to me, o man and be saved."  SIN, we all deal with it, do we allow it to create separation between us and God, from others who are seeking help and are trapped by sin?  God never turns His back on us, He wants us to turn to Him even in our sin, He is the Great Healer but only when we turn to Him.  Prayer is a powerful tool in sin, maybe you don't know how to help someone caught in the trap, prayer is one way.  Maybe you don't know how to get out of the trap, prayer is turning to Him.  God knows the answers, it is up to us to listen, to follow and to trust.

Dear Father God, help those jailed by their wrongs, whether their jail is sin or a set of bars.  May the life of freedom living in Your mercy bring peace to our hearts and guide our ways.  May it break the bondage of sin and allow us to live in harmony with You.  Forgive me for my past transgressions and future mistakes, with the help of Your grace I will avoid sin.  I ask this through the precious blood of Jesus, Amen.

Matthew 21:34 3-22-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"When vintage time drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to obtain his produce." Matthew‬ ‭21:34‬

Day 16 of our Lenten journey: Do we recognize the Gospel playing out before our eyes.  God sends His servants to see how we respond, will we give back the fruits of His vineyard or will we keep them for ourselves.  We all live on borrowed time, we, those who walk with Christ, are in the vineyard.  The servants He sends come in many different forms.  Do we share the love we have been given, do we say it isn't my problem, "they" will take care of it, or do we put our hand out, ask the vineyard owner for help and give back what is rightfully His.  The vintage time draws near, the Word of God is alive and we all are character actors in the stories.  Do as Jesus does.

Dear Father, You don't always give us easy tasks to tackle some are real challenges but You always provide.  When we are in doubt of how, may we trust in You, no one is to be denied of Your love.  You have prepared this day so we may grow closer to You.  You never ask more than we can handle but You will stretch us, lead the way.  Prayers for those at the table seeking help, may they experience the love of Christ thru each of us today.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Luke 16:24-25 9-21-2019 www.daikythoughts.com

"And he cried out, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me. Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering torment in these flames.' Abraham replied, 'My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.

Day 15 of our Lenten journey:  It is good to be probed by God!  Do we see what is going on around us or are we that self-absorbed that we do not see those in need and we step over them each day.  There are people that God has placed in our lives that He wants to see how we respond.  "I, the LORD, explore the mind and test the heart" Jeremiah‬ ‭17:10‬a.  When everything is going good in our world we can be like the rich man, do we recognize those times when we were in need and asked for help.  God sent someone to assist maybe you are the one who is meant to assist.  Who is reaching out at your doorstep and making a nuisance of themselves.  Are they Lazarus?

Dear Heavenly Father, there are many in this world in need who are paying their penance now, I pray for the rich man who is consumed with wealth that does not see the path he is on.  Awaken our souls to realize the choices we make each day have eternal consequences.  Prayer of thanksgiving for a glorious weekend for all those who are responding to Your voice.  Thank You for this day, thank You for probing my mind, I am trusting in You for eternity and You will not fail.  Praise God, Amen.

Matthew 20:22 3-20-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Jesus said in reply, "You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I am going to drink?" They said to him, "We can." Matthew‬ ‭20:22

Day 14 of our Lenten journey:  Jesus spoke clearly of what was coming for the Son of Man yet John and James did not perceive what He was saying.  Their thoughts were upon themselves and a place of honor.  How many of us in our own lives want that place of honor.  The place of honor we seek is in Heaven not here upon earth and we will send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears until we arrive there.  John and James also wanted to be right next to Jesus and it is Jesus who will make us Holy in our daily lives.  Turn your eyes upon Jesus and trust in Him who leads you.  He will make you Holy and there is much need of Holy people in this world.  Just look around you, you encounter many that are lost in their selfish desires.  Be that Holy person in your normal daily life sharing the light of Christ.

Dear Lord, history will repeat itself one more time for it is playing out in front of us each day.  Make us Holy in our daily walk, help us see the lost and needy, open up opportunities to give of you to those that You are drawing near.  May the fruit of the spirit be a willing heart, maybe not understanding what we are saying "I can" to but trusting in You who has walked before us.  Intensify our love of You and make us Holy.  I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, our living hope, Amen.

Romans 4:18 3-19-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"He believed, hoping against hope, that he would become "the father of many nations," according to what was said, "Thus shall your descendants be."" ‭‭Romans‬ ‭4:18‬

Day 13 of our Lenten journey: Picture yourself out at night in the middle of nowhere looking up at the stars and being told "thus shall your descendants be."  You are one of his descendants, Abram hoped against hope.  He believed(an action word) what God told him even though it seemed impossible.  Abraham put his faith into action, lived his life in faith though it seemed impossible.  We each have hopes and prayers that today look impossible but that does not deter us from hoping upon God and we who believe act upon our faith each day.  Daily prayer is that action, spending time with God is that action.  Abraham lived his faith and he also passed it onto you, we have the same responsibility by being living examples of faith.  Little eyes are watching, do your actions speak of your faith.

Dear Lord God, I see the stars when I close my eyes, I know I am one of them along with the rest of my family.  I trust in You to lead us to Your Heavenly home, I lean on You for my actions that they maybe holy and righteous.  I know the Holy Family will find their lost children and bring them home, we are not alone.  May peace rein in our households and may our actions speak of You this day.  In Jesus name, Amen.

1 John 5:4 3-18-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"for whoever is begotten by God conquers the world. And the victory that conquers the world is our faith." ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:4‬

Day 12 of our Lenten journey: Be obedient to the will of God this is our faith, to act upon His direction in our lives.  There will be times our human nature will not want too act.  Even Jesus had this moment in His life.   "saying, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, not my will but yours be done." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭22:42‬.  The victory was His because He obeyed His Father in Heaven.  What about you, do you listen and obey?  Just because the feeling isn't there does it allow us an out.  The victory is yours if you act upon your faith even when your will is unwilling.

Dear Lord God, I thank You for the obedience in my life to sit and listen for Your direction.  You have our best interest at heart, to get us to Heaven.  The hope that I have is the hope You gave me and I will fight for that hope.  Thank You Father for this day, bless us on our journey today, keep us safe and may we be prepared to give reason for our hope.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Genesis 15:12 3-17-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram; and lo, a dread and great darkness fell upon him." Genesis‬ ‭15:12‬

Day 11 of our Lenten journey: God was making His covenant with Abram so why the darkness?  Did Jesus experience this same darkness?  We want certainty in our lives, we want to know, but in our walk it must be based upon faith.  The certainty does not come from head knowledge but heart knowledge.  When Jesus walked this planet did He walk in the darkness as we are asked to do at times.  "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we also await a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will change our lowly body to conform with his glorified body by the power that enables him also to bring all things into subjection to himself." ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:20-21‬.  "for we walk by faith, not by sight."‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:7‬.  The darkness is a test of your faith to increase your desire to know Him, to love Him and to serve Him.  Stay the course, your glorified body is awaiting.

Dear Father, I know Your Son Jesus walked the same walk with clear vision, help us avoid the near occasion of sin so we may see better in the darkness.  I thank You for the faith and love You have instilled in each of us that drives us forward.  Prayers for those blinded by the allure of the world, may they fall into a deep trance and experience what Abram did.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Deuteronomy 26:17-19 3-16-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Today you have accepted the LORD's agreement: he will be your God, and you will walk in his ways, observe his statutes, commandments, and ordinances, and obey his voice. And today the LORD has accepted your agreement: you will be a people specially his own, as he promised you, you will keep all his commandments, and he will set you high in praise and renown and glory above all nations he has made, and you will be a people holy to the LORD, your God, as he promised." ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭26:17-19

Day 10 of our Lenten journey: Relationship is a two way street, we commit to it and so does the other.  In our relationship with God, He is all in, He died on a cross for you.  Am I all in with Him?  "you will keep all His commandments."  God is committed completely, am I?  I get up each day with Him in my heart, ask for His strength and trust in His will.  He knows me through and through, no where near perfect but in this relationship, I listen and respond.  I do not want to do anything that will withhold His favor.  Obey the commandments, all of them and be a people holy to the Lord, your God.

Dear Father, I thank You Father for this relationship and the beautiful sounds this morning in the song birds.  You burn in my heart today and in my thoughts.  Help me in our relationship, may I be more attentive to the things that cause us pain.  Thank You for breath in my lungs, You are giving me life, may I respond in a like way today.  I ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus.

Matthew 5:23-24 3-15-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:23-24‬

Day 9 of our Lenten journey; You are the gift upon the altar, how can God Bless you and transform you into the body and blood of Jesus if you are still holding on to anger?  Jesus walked this earth to heal everyone, He did not carry a grudge or hold onto anger.  He died on a cross for our sins, He feels the pain yet He still loves us and forgives us for our transgressions.  We live in a world that is in need and it begins with you.  ""You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you," ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:43-44‬.  Are you not the gift He died for that He offers up to the Father.

Dear Father, I pray for the world this morning, I pray for the living Christ to walk and heal those in need.  I pray for the blessing of your protection over our loved ones.  Help us see how the seeds of anger can cause much destruction to ourselves.  Thank You Father for Your strength, You never let me down when I am in need.  May we walk in peace and be the gift that You offered up when You sacrificed Yourself upon the cross today. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 138:1 3-14-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"I thank you, Lord, with all my heart; in the presence of the angels to you I sing." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭138:1‬

Day 8 of our Lenten journey:  You ever been at a loss for words when in prayer?  That is me this morning even in the listening there is a silence.  Speak Lord, your servant is listening.  We are not alone, if we could see the spiritual world, who would be there with us?  Our guardian angel, I wonder who else, would God be right there?  What our senses can not perceive, our heart tells us all is good.  Be patient in your prayer life even if your senses fail you, your heart knows love.

Dear Lord God, I thank You for this day, I will sing for You this day.  In my journey You are with me even though I can not see You.  Prayers of thanksgiving for the strength You are developing.  Help me remain humble and diligent to You in my walk.  Prayers for those in need this morning, may they hear Your voice.  You are our living hope and You are mine.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Jonah 3:4-5 3-13-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Jonah began his journey through the city, and when he had gone only a single day's walk announcing, "Forty days more and Nineveh shall be overthrown," the people of Nineveh believed God; they proclaimed a fast and all of them, great and small, put on sackcloth." ‭‭Jonah‬ ‭3:4-5‬

Day 7 of our Lenten journey: Do we not all need a reminder to slow down and change our ways?  I am glad Jonah announces each year in the form of lent to look at our lives.  Have we moved closer to God or farther away in the past year?  Do we give up our old, wrongful ways and change.  It is a constant battle in the culture we live in.  The people of Nineveh needed a reminder and so do we.  ""This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:15‬

Dear Father, You know my prayers this morning and those things that cause me pain.  Remove the plank from my own eye before I try and correct another.  May the teachings of Your Son Jesus permeate my spirit and we become one in action.  Prayers for those in financial need, may their prayers be answered in their hardships.  Thank You Father for always being there.  Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all!

"Yet just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down And do not return there till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, Giving seed to the one who sows and bread to the one who eats, So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me empty, but shall do what pleases me, achieving the end for which I sent it." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:10-11‬

Day 6 of our Lenten journey: Words have power, they create the world around you.  Did God not speak the world into existence in six days.  What kind of world are you building?  When was the last time you listened to what you said?  Sometimes your words have unintended consequences.  "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who choose one shall eat its fruit." ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18:21‬.  Is the fruit bitter or sweet?  A couple of words we can all use more is, "Thank You", "please" and "I'm sorry."  Words have power.

Dear Lord, the world I have built is of my own doing, guide me in my thoughts and my words that You speak through it all.  Renew my mind so that I may have the wisdom to not harm but to build up.  Give me the insight to listen more and speak less.  Help me to hear what is being said and may my words always be life.  Bless this day, May You always be on my tongue this day.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Leviticus 19:1-2 3-11-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"The LORD said to Moses: Speak to the whole Israelite community and tell them: Be holy, for I, the LORD your God, am holy." ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭19:1-2‬

Day 5 of our Lenten journey: What does it mean to be holy?  Who are you when no one is looking, will you still do what is right?  When someone is in need will you step in to help?  Our idea of holiness is someone in constant prayer or someone always speaking of God but Jesus was holy and He just lived His life by doing what His Father put in front of Him.  Each day we are given the same opportunity will we deny ourselves and do what God has placed in front of you.  Be holy, for I, the LORD your God am holy. Leviticus 19:2.  When no one is looking are you still holy?

Dear Father, I desire to be holy but fall short because of my selfish ways, be greater in me today to do the will of my Father.  Thank You for this day and the opportunities it has to offer, may I be attentive to it and a willing participant.  Keep me focused this week on what is important and may I be a pleasing offering in Your sight.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Deuteronomy 26:10 Romans 10:13 3-10-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Now, therefore, I have brought the first fruits of the products of the soil which you, LORD, have given me." You shall set them before the LORD, your God, and you shall bow down before the LORD, your God." ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭26:10‬

"For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."" ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:13‬

Day 4 of our Lenten journey: What is the relation between these two verses?  The Israelites had been led out of Egypt by Moses, they were saved by the oppression they were under, now Moses was instructing them on a Holy life.  To bring their first fruits and place them at the altar in thanksgiving.  Are you giving God your first fruits for what He has done, is doing?  What about the best part of your day when your mind is at its best without all the distractions.  "for, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans‬ ‭10:9‬.  Belief is an action word, it is applying what is in His Holy Word.  ""Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven." Matthew‬ ‭7:21‬

Dear Heavenly Father, I strive to know You and understand the depth of Your love.  Help me on this journey so I may grow deeper in my belief, open the eyes of my heart to see the greater mysteries that are in front of me.  Thank You for Your time and Your gifts, I trust in You even in the darkness.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 58:13-14 3-9-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"If you refrain from trampling the sabbath, from following your own pursuits on my holy day; If you call the sabbath a delight, the LORD's holy day glorious; If you glorify it by not following your ways, seeking your own interests, or pursuing your own affairs— Then you shall delight in the LORD, and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth; I will nourish you with the heritage of Jacob, your father, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken." Isaiah‬ ‭58:13-14‬

Day 3 of our Lenten journey. There is a joy in being nourished by God.  To sit and listen as well as to deny our own selfish desires.  We live at a time of instant response, instant satisfaction, instant relief, instant gratification where God on the other hand ask us to deny ourselves on holy days and I believe each day before we begin.  Grounding ourselves in truth enables us to have the strength to take on what lies ahead even at times when we would personally like to do something else.  Allow God to nourish you, no better way to start the day!

Thank You Father for the will to begin with You each day.  To sit in peace and reflect upon Your Word so I may apply it to my life.  You nourish my soul and enliven my spirit for doing Your will all the time.  Help me this day deny my selfish desires, be my strength when I would rather do something else.  I look forward to walking with You today and to learn from You today.  I will heed Your voice and seek Your way, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 58:6-8 3-8-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Is this not, rather, the fast that I choose: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke; Setting free the oppressed, breaking off every yoke? Is it not sharing your bread with the hungry, bringing the afflicted and the homeless into your house; Clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your wound shall quickly be healed; Your vindication shall go before you, and the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭58:6-8

Day 2 of our Lenten journey.   Charity is the word that God put in my thoughts for what I will give up this lent.  In what ways are we helping others release the bondage they place themselves in?  Fasting can still be giving up Chocolate or alcohol but if you are not doing anything with the monies you would normally spend are you really benefiting the body of Christ.  Living the Word of God is available to us each day if we would pay attention to what opportunities God puts in front of us.   Live your faith and do not turn your back on your own flesh.

Dear Father, I love You, I love the joy You have put in our lives.  I love the Spirit You are developing amongst us.  Thank You Father for the opportunities to release anxiety, fear, to bring joy into our day, to cooperate with the Body of Christ that enables peace to walk amongst us.  Watch over us Father, be our everything and help us realize that life is exhilarating when You are on the inside.  Prayers for a friend who is sick, may they recover quickly.  I give You all the honor, all the glory and all the praise.  Amen

Luke 9:25 3-7-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?" ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:25‬

Day 1 of our journey.  Do we trust God in all things?  Are we willing to lose it all for Him.  (Yes).  I do not think in following Christ He is asking us to lose who we are, He only wants to perfect us and to have us place our trust in Him.  I am nothing without Him, I am everything with Him, in the middle I am just wandering in the dessert.  This is my journey the past while and I am seeking more.  This morning I am trusting in Jesus on this Lenten Journey to rise anew with Him on Easter.

Dear Father, I trust in You, I am who I am with You.  Bless this day Lord, speak to my soul, give me ears to hear and a will to respond.  Thank You for Your love today.  Allow me to be an instrument in Your hands who does Your will.  Help each of us on our Lenten journey to develop a deeper relationship with You, to understand who we are together and to share the joy of living in harmony with You.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Joel 2:15-17 3-6-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Blow the horn in Zion! Proclaim a fast, call an assembly! Gather the people, sanctify the congregation; Assemble the elderly; gather the children, even infants nursing at the breast; Let the bridegroom leave his room, and the bride her bridal tent. Between the porch and the altar let the priests weep, let the ministers of the LORD weep and say: "Spare your people, LORD! do not let your heritage become a disgrace, a byword among the nations! Why should they say among the peoples, 'Where is their God?'" The Lord Relents." Joel‬ ‭2:15-17‬

Are you living your faith?  Are you following the Word of God and tradition.  Today there are millions of people who are doing just that.  The trumpet is sounding, we are going into a fast and asking God to spare us.  They are preparing themselves for the Resurrected Christ.  Will you be counted amongst them or do you not believe in silly old tradition?

Thank You Father for giving us ways and reminders to follow You.  We live at a time that needs You more than ever.  May Your faithful be living reminders of the power of our God.  Strengthen us on this journey the next forty days, may Your Word come alive to us and may we receive You a new in our spirit come Easter Sunday.  Come Holy Spirit and fall afresh upon us.  Amen.

Mark 10:28 3-5-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Peter began to say to him, "We have given up everything and followed you." Mark‬ ‭10:28‬

Was Peter looking back when he said this?  There is so much to gain when we put our hands to the plow, we give up the old to gain the new.  Tomorrow begins lent, what are you giving up in order to receive newness in your spirit come Easter Sunday.  What sacrifice that will cause you to really reflect upon this journey the next forty days.  Will it cause you some kind of pain as it did Peter.  When we have God, we have all that we need.  Live the Gospels in your daily walk, if you are paying attention you will know what I am talking about.

Dear Father, I enjoy walking with You, I am never alone and there is always newness when living with You.  Each day is an adventure with a lesson to be learned.  Come fill us with Your Holy Spirit this coming lent, May we be emboldened as Peter was after Your resurrection.  Thank You Triune God for the focus in my life, for the desire to know You, to love You and to serve You.  Bless this day, watch over us and keep us warm, filled with the hope of tomorrow.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Ben Sira 3-4-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"How great is the mercy of the Lord, and his forgiveness for those who return to him!" ‭‭Ben Sira‬ ‭17:29‬

"Lord have mercy on us", these words ring in my thoughts this morning.  How will I prepare myself for Christ this coming Lent?  What can I do to continue the journey closer to our Father in Heaven.  His mercy endures for ever but if we don't accept it, we can not receive it.  I think of those who are angry with God or who are at a distance from Him, He knows this so why not this lent journey with Christ and see the love the Father has for you.  What sacrifice will you offer up along with His?

Dear Lord, I am Yours, prepare me for this Lenten season.  May I be mindful of others and witness the mercy that You freely give.  I offer up my daily journey, I offer my desires, my joys, my ambitions, I place myself in Your hands.  Cleanse this cup from the inside and make me Holy, one day at a time.  I look forward to walking with You, Jesus, this lent.  Thank You for having mercy upon me, a sinner.   In Jesus name, Amen.

1 Corinthians 15:543-3-2019 dailythoughts.com

"And when this which is corruptible clothes itself with incorruptibility and this which is mortal clothes itself with immortality, then the word that is written shall come about: "Death is swallowed up in victory." ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:54

Are you clothing yourself with immortality and incorruptibility?  Putting on the word of God each day, spending time in His presence, receiving Him into your heart is feeding the soul.  We are all being fed spiritually, some it is a conscious decision others are allowing the world to corrupt.  Death is swallowed up in victory each day we move closer to God and deny the message of the world.

Dear Lord, You are feeding us in ways we do not comprehend, write Your words on our hearts so they may bring light into the world.  Help me as I try and listen this morning, fill Your temple with Hope, Love and Joy.  Bless this day Father and Thank You for the lives that are being changed.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 103:15-16 3-2-2019 dailythoughts.com

"As for man, his days are like the grass; he blossoms like a flower in the field. A wind sweeps over it and it is gone; its place knows it no more." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:15-16‬

We will all face the inevitable on our journey, how long will we be remembered?  Not long in the sands of time, so what is truly important while we are on this part of our journey.  Securing our place in eternity.  What does last forever?  "Give thanks to the LORD, who is good, whose love endures forever;".  Having the love of God in your heart secures You forever for God's Word is truth and life.  How do you know if you have it?  Your actions will speak of it, His desire will drive you.  I have this confidence deep within my soul - Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b

Dear Father, even with a monkey brain this morning Your Words still found their way to the front.  Thank You for the love deep within my heart, protect it Father, make it stronger so I may serve You and do what You have prepared for me.  I trust You Father and am thankful that I have found this Joy.  Bless this day Father, prayers for those who are facing a challenge in their path, may they recognize Your love in their heart and may that love drive out their fear.  You are greater than all of our challenges.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Ben Sira 6:10 3-1-2019 dailythoughts.com

"Others are friends, table companions, but they cannot be found in time of affliction." ‭‭Ben Sira‬ ‭6:10

Are you a table companion to Jesus?  Will you stick by His side in time of affliction?  Jesus will always be by your side, through thick and thin but will you reciprocate?  It is easy to pick things apart especially during these times.  It would appear that the attack is on all sides and now more than ever, your friend Jesus needs strong friends.  I see a world denying Him and their faith, not realizing the consequences on the next generation.  Little eyes are watching wondering is Jesus a friend to you.  Do you have the child like faith they have or has there been a wedge driven in because some person has failed.  It is not easy to watch others stumble in the darkness when Jesus is on the inside!

Dear Lord, I love You more than life itself, shine Your light into the darkness.  Emblazon us to build upon the rock, allow us to see Your friendship in our lives.  How You have never hurt us, it was someone not being guided by the love of Christ.  Awaken the faithful Father much like you did five years ago.  Thank You for the journey and the strength of Your Son Jesus in my heart.  Help me not curse the darkness but shine the light of Christ that is in need of a true friend, Jesus Christ.  To God be the Glory.  Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Victory, nurture our spirit.
