Deuteronomy 27 - Blessings and Curses

"and you shall build there an altar to the LORD, your God, an altar made of stones that no iron tool has touched. You shall build this altar of the LORD, your God, with unhewn stones, and shall offer on it burnt offerings to the LORD, your God. You shall also offer communion sacrifices and eat them there, rejoicing in the presence of the LORD, your God. On the stones you shall inscribe all the words of this law very clearly."  Deuteronomy‬ ‭27:5-8

Deuteronomy 27 - Blessings or Curses.  We all want the blessings and no one wants the curses but in this world we get both.  "When all these things, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, come upon you, and you take them to heart in any of the nations where the LORD, your God, has dispersed you, and return to the LORD, your God, obeying his voice, according to all that I am commanding you today, you and your children, with your whole heart and your whole being,". ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30:1-2‬.  Do you take them all to the Lord?  The blessings are easy,  for you are giving thanks but what about the curses?  Sitting with God and talking about the difficult things are not easy for we are hurt, we feel the pain, so does He.  Our human nature wants to punish, to be mad, to fight back but that doesn't heal the wound.  Having a heart to heart with God who should be the center of your life is the answer.  The stones are your heart, the place of worship is your heart even the painful things.  Offer them up as a sacrifice, He knows your pain, He gave us His Son, who walks with us and He died on the cross so we could be redeemed.   We all want the sunshine but into every life a little rain will come.

What is God saying to me

Dear Father, these ain't easy things to talk about, I see the hurt and the desire to understand but words can not heal only You can heal.  It is knowing that You also endured epain for our sake that we too can rejoice when we see the light of day.  Father heal the pain, breath new life into all that are tired of fighting.  There is a joy in accepting the reality of the situations and trusting in You that You know best.  Thank You Father for sitting with me this morning and working with me.  Take me into this day so I may glorify You in all that I am.  Prayers for a clear path forward on a project.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
St. Joseph, give us strength.
