"Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" She thought it was the gardener and said to him, "Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni," which means Teacher. Jesus said to her, "Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, 'I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"" John 20:15-17
Easter Tuesday - Go. Mary mistakes the risen Jesus for the gardener, how does that happen? In what ways do we hold onto Jesus? Jesus commissioned Mary that morning to let go and let God. Mary had been taught by Jesus now she was to go, to go into action. We can sit back and wait for Jesus but He gets our attention and tells us to go. Live the Gospel. "So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
James 2:17
What is God saying to me:
Dear Lord, You have prepared the ground Lord, You have planted the seed, conditions are right for growth but it is us that must grow. We can not sit still and expect growth, thank You for the encouragement today Lord. Thank You for the water that nourishes the spirit that will produce good fruit. Thank You Father for the imagery within Your word. Prayers for a friend who stepped out on faith, may he continue to grow in his faith. Prayers for another finding new life in his ministry, You never fail us when we ask for help. Bless this day Lord, keep us safe and use me where You need me. In Jesus name, Amen.
