"Yet it was our pain that he bore, our sufferings he endured. We thought of him as stricken, struck down by God and afflicted, But he was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity. He bore the punishment that makes us whole, by his wounds we were healed. We had all gone astray like sheep, all following our own way; But the LORD laid upon him the guilt of us all." Isaiah 53:4-6
Good Friday - Called out of darkness. Today is Good Friday, the day that we remember the sufferings of Christ. Jesus physically paid the price for our sins, He bore the pain, to deny His suffering denies His resurrection, it denies our resurrection. A man lead to slaughter, who bore our sins, everyone of them. I know no one other who willingly died for me, in knowing the pain that He carried, this gives me strength for He paid it all, all of my debt He paid. Why would I not contemplate His journey on this day?
We have all been giving a sense of darkness in our lives, a time to think, what is my mortality? Will I be ok? When will this end? Without the suffering there is no resurrection, you are being called out of darkness. You are being asked to live in Jesus, not in the depths of your sin, He paid for that. What are you going to do differently when our resurrection day comes, you are being called into holiness, into God's army.
What is God saying to me: I am sitting beside My Father, I see the pain and suffering, the mental anguish. I also see hope being restored, families being healed, time being given back to what is truly important. You can become slaves and not even realize it. I Am that gives hope.
Dear Father, I pray Father for those entrapped by their sins and not knowing. I pray for freedom from bondage of the evil one. You are awakening Your people to the value of life and the value of time, may we not waste it on frivolous things that only gain us a heavy burden. May we pick up the cross of another today to help them on their journey. Father I trust in You for the outcome knowing that all is well. Prayers for a friend that is beginning their chemo treatment. Prayers for many who have lost jobs or are having pay cut, may they do as You do and live in peace. These are not easy tasks to live in peace but You have already carried the load, we just have to finish the race. With You, the yoke is easy and the burden is light. Thank You for sending Your Son to die for me. Have mercy upon us Father as You bless this day, Amen.
