Daily Thoughts - Be forgiven.
"Woe to you! You build the memorials of the prophets whom your ancestors killed. Consequently, you bear witness and give consent to the deeds of your ancestors, for they killed them and you do the building." Luke 11:47-48
I stand with Jesus as He faces His accusers not backing down. I watch as the scene unfolds and see the love of God as He speaks truth in the situation. I see His love for humanity as He seeks to intervene on their path of destruction.
I sit and look at our world, the scene in front of us. We either believe the Truth or, we are deaf to the Truth, we come to believe our own lies. Yet God stays the course, giving His love away, seeking that opportunity to penetrate a soul that is willing to listen.
In love "he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved. Fulfillment Through Christ. In him we have redemption by his blood, the forgiveness of transgressions, in accord with the riches of his grace". Ephesians 1:5-7
We are either washed by the blood of the Lamb or we are the ones drawing the blood. That is the message Jesus is giving when speaking to His accusers. Be forgiven.
Dear Father, many pictures this morning as the world continues to be divided, yet You still speak the truth and do not back down when it is needed to be spoken in love. Watch over Your faithful, strengthen us for the journey with Your body, continue to give us the grace to see and respond in a world that can be deaf. In Jesus name, Amen.
