Daily Thoughts - Open your heart
"At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because at the preaching of Jonah they repented, and there is something greater than Jonah here." Luke 11:32
Jesus paints a picture within those that listen. Jonah walked one day in the city Nineveh calling out to the people to turn from their wicked ways and they did. "When God saw by their actions how they turned from their evil way, he repented of the evil he had threatened to do to them; he did not carry it out." Jonah 3:10
How many in the crowd listened to God as He paints? There were some in this crowd that condemned Him to death, they did not listen because of the hardness of their hearts. There is always a message within scripture for each of us. God see's our lives and knows what to say and when. The words He uses paints an image, I pray I am listening with an open heart.
Dear Father, I see Jesus speaking to the crowd, getting their attention and speaking the reality of their lives. He speaks to this generation as well, may we heed Your voice and turn back. May history find us on the right side of Truth. To God be the glory, Amen.
