Daily Thoughts - The celebration of Christmas

Daily Thoughts - The celebration of Christmas

"When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord, "Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord,". ‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭22‬-‭23‬

The child Jesus, the Son of God was consecrated to His Father as a child.  As a baby, Jesus had no understanding, in a human sense, of what was to occur but His parents brought Him and presented Him to God the Father.

"But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him. This is the way we may know that we are in union with him: whoever claims to abide in him ought to live [just] as he lived."  ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬-‭6‬.  I look at ways man has transformed the word of God to fit his need and justification, I am guilty of it myself.  But as I read and understand what God the Father is saying within my heart, I come to know who I am, what I was created for and how He is there to help along the way.  Our children need this understanding as their little minds are being formed.  With the gift of a child comes responsibility, God entrusts parents with children and it is our obligation, if we are believers to follow Christ as is written within scripture.

"Out of Egypt, I called my Son."  Matthew 2:15C.  We are all called out of the slavery of sin, to follow Jesus and the Trinity.  It all begins with the baptism of a child.  It is God within that brings us to perfection and our willingness to be obedient to His will, not God's obedience to my will.  "Thy will be done."  Merry Christmas, Christ lives within with Joy.

Dear Father, I thank You Lord God for children and grandchildren, they are a joy to watch as You form them.  I pray for the world that seeks to grab their little minds and pull them away from You, that seeks to pull them into Egypt.  There is a peace in Knowing that they are consecrated to You, together the holy family will raise them.  Thank You Father for a beautiful celebration of a life that never left Your side.  A job well done and another Saint in Heaven.  Amen.
