"May the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep by the blood of the eternal covenant, Jesus our Lord, furnish you with all that is good, that you may do his will. May he carry out in you what is pleasing to him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever [and ever]. Amen." Hebrews 13:20-21
"He said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while." Mark 6:31a
Is God with you? Whether in the desert, in the busy day, in sleep, do you recognize that God IS with you. The Gospels are stories of the lives of the disciples, the words paint the picture of their lives. The disciples had Jesus with them in all these places. We as well are given that knowledge that God is with us, the definition of Jesus.
The disciples listened to Jesus and did what was asked of them. It was God working within them that was pleasing to God. It was their response back to God that enlivens God within. The deserted place for the disciples was in the boat. What is your boat that carries you across the great divide? Don't go alone, there is only one who can calm the seas and it isn't you.
Dear Father, it is so good to be in relationship with You, to listen and hear You at work. Each day is an adventure that brings about changes that go unnoticed until they are. Prayers for a friend, may he continue on the journey in peace. Bless this day Lord and all it has to offer. In Jesus name, Amen.
