Daily Thoughts - The Beginning.
"The Lord God then took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden, to cultivate and care for it. The Lord God gave the man this order: You are free to eat from any of the trees of the garden except the tree of knowledge of good and evil. From that tree you shall not eat; when you eat from it you shall die." Genesis 2:15-17
What is good and pleasing to God, not for our glory and benefit but for His glory and benefit. Listen to God speak to Adam, clear and concise instructions with the consequence spelled out. What was within the man that made him chose to ignore God and His will. How many times have we fell into the trap because it was coming from within, my will over God's will.
If we are honest with ourselves, we create the situations in life because of our choices. Adam didn't chose death as the outcome, he made a simple decision that lead to all of the pain and suffering. We have the choice today to listen to God and to chose His greater good.
Slow down, listen, discern His will, no emotional decisions and make the decision that brings glory to Him, even if it costs you much. Have a blessed day walking with Your creator, He wants what is best ultimately leading to your salvation.
Dear Father, help me look within to see the little decisions that will eventually betray You, help me chose the greater good for Your glory. Thank You for the life lessons that are unfolding and the opportunity to respond in love. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
