Daily Thoughts 11-5-2017 Psalms 93:2, Matthew 23:12

"The LORD is king, robed with majesty; the LORD is robed, girded with might. The world will surely stand in place, never to be moved."
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭93:1‬

"Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted." Matthew‬ ‭23:12‬

Look at what began in such a humble setting, our Lord Jesus robed in majesty, laying in a manger.  He never sought to be exalted, all He sought was His Fathers will.   How did these settings define who Jesus was, how did it define the Holy Family?  What about your beginnings,  how has that defined who you are.  All of us came into this world with nothing, what we had growing up was given to us by our parents.  Be thankful for what God provided for you, this makes you who you are, what you do with it will define you.  Do not forget, we all leave the same way so no one is better than the other.

Dear Heavenly Father, May I never forget where I came from.  May I live my life in the way my parents taught me to live.  You never exalted Yourself and always looked out for others.  May I follow Your example.  I ask my Spiritual Mother Mary, to guide each of us closer to her Son Jesus these next 33 days as we prepare to celebrate Your birth day.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Word Incarnate, pray for us.

Day 1 reading from the book.

Come , Holy Spirit, living in Mary.
Help me to make this retreat with generosity and zeal.
