"She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer. And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem." Luke 2:37b-38
We have to remove ourselves from the world and live with Jesus all the time. Not easy but this is what God asks of us, even in our daily lives to be always in His presence. "For all that is in the world, sensual lust, enticement for the eyes, and a pretentious life, is not from the Father but is from the world. Yet the world and its enticement are passing away. But whoever does the will of God remains forever." 1 John 2:16-17. Anna that spoke about the child Jesus found her peace in the temple, we do not have that luxury but we must still find that peace that Anna did and live it 24/7. This is only found in Jesus and doing the will of God. Think! What things in your life are removing you from the temple of God. It will be a new year soon, we get to start over, make a commitment to God and ask and/or beg Him to help. This next year is going to be special for you. Fasting and prayer will be important to your commitment, keep that in mind.
Dear Heavenly Father, I know there are things that I need to change, I ask for Your help and guidance in making those changes. I want to live in Your temple 24/7, You know the results of that but I trust in You for the strength and conviction to help me. Bless this coming year with answered prayers, help us see so we can each grow Your Kingdom and bring the child Jesus to others. In Jesus name, Amen.
Prayers today for a Sandy who struggles to breath, for Belinda who is recovering from a stroke and for a young lady who has a severe learning disability, may God richly bless them with a miraculous recovery. Amen.
Mary, Mother of Hope, pray for us.
