In the Old Testament the people were concerned with outer appearance, they were taught leprosy was the result of sin. Today we are still concerned with outer appearances but we cover up the sin thinking there is no consequence. The world is still teaching the same lie.
Leprosy is contagious and so is sin. "Do not be led astray: "Bad company corrupts good morals." 1 Corinthians 15:33. Jesus wasn't concerned with the outer appearance as He is with the inner self. Over time sin will appear on the outer self just like leprosy. It shows up in ways we may not realize, like anger or anxiety or selfishness or self created chaos, it is a lack of love. Just like in the time of Jesus, He is the cure to be made clean. "A leper came to him [and kneeling down] begged him and said, "If you wish, you can make me clean." Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand, touched him, and said to him, "I do will it. Be made clean." Mark 1:40-41. You wanted an answer to your question and confession is the cure, go to Jesus and be made clean.
Dear Heavenly Father, Your words are truth, we live in a world that teaches lies. Help me discern truth, help me see the lies in my own life and rid me of sin. I love spending time with You, I enjoy seeking You out, You bring peace into my spirit. Thank You for loving me, caring for me and guiding me. You are the cure for all things even the unseen. Bless this day and bless Your people, they are rising up to build Your Church. In Jesus name, Amen.
