www.dailythoughts.com 1 Corinthians 5:4-5 9-10-2018

"in the name of [our] Lord Jesus: when you have gathered together and I am with you in spirit with the power of the Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord." ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:4-5‬

Are we to be accepting of sin?  Here Saint Paul tells us to give the man over to his sin, so that it may destroy him in the flesh.  He also tells us to remove the person from the church so we don't accept the sin.  Hate the sin, love the sinner.   Sin will take its course and our spirit over time will convict us to return to God and ask for forgiveness.   Unless we change our sinful ways life will be a series of ups and downs.  Those of us with age have felt the destruction of flesh and recognize the attack on our spirit.  Today the battle armor is stronger, the spirit is stronger to fight for our Lord.  Life is a great teacher, sometimes we have to learn the hard way.  We learn from our battle scars and we learn to live in Your spirit and not our flesh.

Dear Lord Jesus, You give us free will to choose our path in life.  Have mercy upon me a sinner for those times I do not choose You.  Your Holy Spirit convicts us to return to You when we have had enough.  I thank You for never abandoning us even in the bleakest of times.  Thank You Jesus for preparing the young people in our community to be mighty warriors.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
