www.dailythoughts.com Mark 8:29,31-32 9-16-2018

"And he asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter said to him in reply, "You are the Messiah."

He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and rise after three days. He spoke this openly. Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him." Mark‬ ‭8:29, 31-32‬

Do our words get to define who Jesus is to us?  Do we get to make him into our image?  No & No.  "Indeed someone may say, "You have faith and I have works." Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works."
‭‭James‬ ‭2:18‬. "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you." ‭‭John‬ ‭15:13-14‬.  Jesus tells us what it takes to follow Him and learn who He is.  Faith without action is dead so are our words if we do not back them up with belief.  Listen to the Son of Man as He speaks with Peter.   "I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus."
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬.   "Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deluding yourselves."
‭‭James‬ ‭1:22‬.

Dear Father God, I am an instrument in the Potters hand, not always understanding but doing as best as I can with what You ask of Me.   I trust in Your Divine will to lead me as You did Peter.  Just like Peter, I am an imperfect human, being transformed into Your image.  May I not define You with words or deeds but may I give of myself as only You can give.  Praise be the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
