Luke 1:41 5-31-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the holy Spirit," Luke‬ ‭1:41‬

Mary, our Blessed Mother, physically brings Jesus to the house of Elizabeth.  She honored God with her yes, she obeys His Holy Spirit by bringing Him to John the Baptist.  She plays a pivotal role in the church.  A lot of miraculous things happen when Mary gets involved.  It isn't Mary doing these things but it is her obedience that allows them to occur.  Mary, does not stand in the way of God, she gives God life in human form, in His creation.   She is the perfect reflection of what God wants for each of us.  May we all imitate her example.

What is God saying to me: My Holy Spirit seeks to enter, will you honor and obey?

Dear Father, I am in awe of the Holy Spirit, He is always out in front leading the way.  We are blessed if we have received Him and allow Him authority in our lives.  With Him there is peace in our lives, a Holy Peace.  I pray Father that we become super sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.  May we give Him life in our world.  Thank You Father for Your plan of salvation, may we all become obedient to Your Holy will, I ask this in Jesus name.

Mary, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, pray for us.

Day 1 of the Novena to the Holy Spirit.

The Novena to the Holy Spirit for Pentecost is actually the original novena, the very first novena.

After Jesus ascended into Heaven, the disciples prayed for nine days for the Holy Spirit, "the promise of my Father." (Luke 24:49).

And on the tenth day, they received the Holy Spirit, on Pentecost Sunday!

As we pray to the Holy Spirit, like the disciples did, we want you to be sure that you find some sort of concrete intention for this novena.

The Holy Spirit is a powerful advocate, and trust in God is key in the spiritual life. So, make an extra special effort to trust in God's will for you regarding your intention.

We're confident the Holy Spirit will surprise you with blessings during this novena.

You can post your own prayer intentions here, and we invite you to pray for others that you see there too.

Here are the prayers for today:

CHARITY

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by Your power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus' name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar's heart for Your gift of Charity within us.

The great charity of all the the host of Saints is only made possible by your power, Oh Divine Spirit. Increase in me, the virtue of charity that I may love as God loves with the selflessness of the Saints.

Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, through Christ Our Lord,

Amen.

Acts 1:8-9 5-30-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

Have a Blessed day!!

"But you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight." ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:8-9‬

The first apostles, found Christ, watched Him die,  seen Him Risen and now watch Him rise to Heaven.  The peace they felt when with the Savior of the world, the sense of loss when He was gone.  The anguish being in a world out to get them, the memory of the peace when with Christ must of brought them comfort.

We celebrated Easter exactly 40 days ago, is Christ the center of your life?  Do you always live in peace?

Living with the Holy Spirit is such an amazing journey, you know that you are not alone.  He is always there to visit with, to experience your joys and your sorrows.  The period in our lives when we have not accepted the Holy Spirit can be frightening because you know you are alone but you also know in the back of your head where you will find Love.  Stop fighting and accept the joy that comes with living with the Holy Spirit.  Jesus is knocking and you hold the keys.

What is God saying to me?  I have sent You my Holy Spirit and You have breathed in deeply My Love, be My witness.

Dear Father, I am overwhelmed by the memory of that day, the thoughts flood my head of breathing in deeply, I have never left Your side from that point.  I thank You for the strength, for the witness of Your power, for the understanding that You poured into me.  I pray for a world that seeks knowing without You, may they see the joy of peace in knowing You.  You give us today, promise to take care of tomorrow, may we all live in the presence, living in peace.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Risen Lord, pray for us.

Acts 17:27, 30 5-29-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"so that people might seek God, even perhaps grope for him and find him, though indeed he is not far from any one of us.

God has overlooked the times of ignorance, but now he demands that all people everywhere repent" ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:27, 30‬

Would Paul not say the same thing today to the people of this time.  How many turn to palm readers, the horoscopes, tarot cards, a statue of buda,  all seeking answers.  Paul seen the people of Athens doing the same thing.  "Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen." ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬.  God is found in the stillness, in the realization that every breath is from God.  God is found in trusting in Him, He is found in the Holy Bible.  He is.  All the other worldly ways is our groping for God, they can become our little g, god, just like the people of Athens.  Repent of these evil ways and turn to Jesus, find the resurrected Christ, He will give you hope and it will take faith, a lifetime of faith, nothing concrete other than your actions of belief in Jesus Christ.  Like Paul tells us, He is not far from any one of us.

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, what a beautiful morning, watching the light of day penetrate the darkness.  Illuminate our minds with holy truth this day, give us the Advocate, Your Holy Spirit to discern Your voice that speaks to our soul.  I pray Father that others are growing in their faith, they are heeding Your voice.  May we all become faithful witnesses to the Truth that You are real and will not be mocked.  Thank You God for dying on the cross so I may have life eternal, may I live a life that brings You honor and glory.  Amen.

Acts 16:30-31 5-28-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your household will be saved." Acts‬ ‭16:30-31‬

What made the jailer ask Paul and Silas this question?  Was it their joy they were expressing even after being persecuted.  Was it their peace even though they were locked up?  What about their response to the jailer, not only would the jailer be saved but so would His household.  We impact many lives by our decisions, when we choose not to believe, are we standing in the way of our household?  How we respond to the events of our lives and the decisions we make have eternal consequences to those we have been given charge of and come in contact with.  There is freedom when we free the chains that hold us in bondage.

What is God saying to me: Live In Peace my child, I am with you.

Dear Father, You seem distant this morning or is it I that is distant.  There is so much to comprehend yet I do not know what is next.  Help me trust in You with all my heart, all my soul and all my mind.  Help me not over think my thoughts and live in peace as You tell me.   Help me with the things that frustrate me and help me be more like Paul and Silas, enjoying all the circumstances of our life.   Prayers for those who have yet to believe, may they jump in and experience the joy of living with You.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

John 16:1-2 5-27-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

""I have told you this so that you may not fall away. They will expel you from the synagogues; in fact, the hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he is offering worship to God." ‭‭John‬ ‭16:1-2‬

Happy Memorial Day, we are blessed to live in a land that provides freedom.  Never forget freedom isn't free, there are many that are fighting to keep our freedom and there are many who have died for our freedom.  The greatest of these is Jesus, Himself.  His freedom is true freedom, once death has been conquered in your life there is nothing that has control over you other than your own will.

A society that can not be controlled becomes a detriment to what the governing body desires - the way of the world.  Was Hitler offering worship to God when he tried to purify the human race?  "Thus inwardly armed with confidence in God and the unshakable stupidity of the voting citizenry, the politicians can begin the fight for the "remaking" of the Reich as they call it.
- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf Vol. 2 Chapter 1"

Freedom isn't free, Jesus paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

What is God saying to me: Slave - Freedom.  "Freed from sin, you have become slaves of righteousness." ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:18‬

Dear Father, I pray for a country that has every freedom under the sun willing to slowly give it away.  I pray for a culture that has forgotten the lessons of the past to live a life of luxury.  Awaken our senses to be able to see what is truly happening around us.  Give us strength when we are called upon to stand and proclaim the Gospel.  Thank You Father for the freedom we all get to experience, may we all accept the true freedom that only You can give.  I ask this in the name of Jesus.

Mary, Queen of Victory, pray for us.

John 14:26 5-26-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that [I] told you." ‭‭John‬ ‭14:26‬

Do you call upon the Holy Spirit each day for guidance, for help, for direction?  The same Holy Spirit God gave the apostles, He also gives to each of us, if we would be patience and sit still, listen to His guidance.  I can't tell you how many times, He give me a word or a Bible verse to chew on.  He is always out in front especially when we acknowledge that we want His help.  We are all guided but do we recognize where the guidance is coming from, look back, now you see.  Spend time with the Holy Spirit, invite Him into your life and live in peace.  There is nothing better than knowing, He is with you.

What is God saying to me: I am a lamp unto your feet.

Dear Father, Thank You for giving me ears to hear, a mind to respond to the calling of Your Holy Spirit.  You are always out in front even when I am asleep You are preparing the day.  I pray more call upon Your Holy Spirit to be their Advocate, to be their guide, to be the One who brings peace into their day and helps them become a pleasing offering to You.  Thank You for our time together, You always know what is needed and when.  Prayers for those in need, may they recognize Your call.  I ask this in Jesus's name, Amen.

Psalms 100:3 5-25-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Know that the LORD is God, he made us, we belong to him, we are his people, the flock he shepherds." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭100:3‬

I got to listen to a group of men yesterday morning speak about their lives and the choices they made.  In their wanderings they were being shepherded by God.  They followed the call in their life most not recognizing it as a call from God, just seeing it as life.  When we sit still and ponder, we can see the choices we made and how that changed our course.  When one of the sheep get out of the pen, the sheep dogs will bring them back.  The hounds of Heaven are no different, stop and listen.  You belong to Him, He has always been there, He is God, we are His people.

What is God saying to me: My beloved, you are loved more than you can phantom, I wrap My arms around you, You are mine and I will never lose you, you are safe.

Dear Father, I am over joyed this morning being in Your presence.  You know me through and through, You pour out Your love upon me and give me peace.  Father, Your Holy Spirit speaks to each of us, help others see the peace in the stillness of the day.  I can not express in the words the graces You pour out on us when we give You time.  Only You can wrap Your arms around the broken hearted and bring peace into their lives.  Bless this day Father, You have prepared me for it.  I am ready.  In the name of Your Son, Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Virgin of Virgins, pray for us.  Special prayer for a friend contemplating their journey.

Acts 15:24-28 5-24-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Since we have heard that some of our number [who went out] without any mandate from us have upset you with their teachings and disturbed your peace of mind, we have with one accord decided to choose representatives and to send them to you along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, who have dedicated their lives to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. So we are sending Judas and Silas who will also convey this same message by word of mouth: 'It is the decision of the holy Spirit and of us not to place on you any burden beyond these necessities," Acts‬ ‭15:24-28‬

Unity through the Holy Spirit, this is God's plan for us to be united with Him, to act in one accord with each other.  We are all one body when we are guided by the Holy Spirit. The challenge we face is the one voice that works at dividing us, the one that works at disturbing our peace of mind.  If you step back and just watch, listen do you see truth in action, is there peace?  Do you see God's plan being worked or do you see the plan of man being worked.  The Holy Spirit see's all and when we bow to His authority, recognize His voice, respond to His requests, go even when we don't want to, then we will find peace in our life, even in the middle of the storm!

What is God saying to me: My truth is written down in My Word, when you study it, dissect it, you will see My heart and what My plan is.  There are many that are laid astray by the wayward voice for they do not study My Word.  Peace is with you.

Dear Father, there is a comfort in knowing we get to sit together each day and be still.  My spirit rejoices in knowing You, in living with You and in serving You.  Guard my actions and my words that they always may be for You.  I am sorry when I fall victim to the schemes of the devil and want to lash out, You know what causes me strife and I turn that over to You so You may root it out of me. Bless this day Father, bless Your faithful servants who go about unnoticed doing Your will.  Prayers for a friend that is asking why, may this stirring reunite You with him.  I ask this in the Holy name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.  I love you. ❤️

Acts 15:7-9 5-23-2010 www.dailythoughts.com

"After much debate had taken place, Peter got up and said to them, "My brothers, you are well aware that from early days God made his choice among you that through my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. He made no distinction between us and them, for by faith he purified their hearts." ‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:7-9‬

Can you place yourself within this scene?  Can you picture Peter standing up in the assemble and speaking truth through the power of the Holy Spirit?  The word that comes to mind for me when I place myself there is foundation.  Peter had been tested many times and with stood those tests, God knows the heart.  "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:18‬.  Allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to us will reveal many things.  He will purify the heart, He will reveal truth, He uncovers what He had intended not what has been twisted over the centuries.  God's written word reveals many truths.

What is God saying to me: Timing, open your heart to Me and I will speak.

Dear Father, I am overwhelmed this morning with the picture of Your Immaculate Heart, I can see its beat as it pumps life into us.  I thank You for a vivid imagination, for a chance to close my eyes and see beyond time.  Father, it is Your words that speak truth to the heart, make crooked paths straight.  Help each of us see where the evil one is trying to ensnare us and free us from his trap.  I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Divine Grace, pray for us.

Acts 15:2-3a 5-22-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Because there arose no little dissension and debate by Paul and Barnabas with them, it was decided that Paul, Barnabas, and some of the others should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and presbyters about this question. They were sent on their journey by the church" ‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:2-3‬a

History, isn't it fascinating when you go back and study it.  To see how and why things were done, what the outcome was.  The Bible clearly states that the early church submitted itself to a higher authority.  They each didn't take it upon themselves to decide the outcome.  They sought the wisdom of the first bishops and the one left in charge.  Today this is called the magisterium.  What about you do you submit yourself to an authority or do you just go it alone.  There is a wisdom and power when we relinquish the power and allow others that have a wealth of knowledge and insight to offer direction.  "Be subordinate to one another out of reverence for Christ." Ephesians‬ ‭5:21‬. It is what Christ established when He ascended into Heaven and brought down His Holy Spirit.

What is God saying to me: You are not defined by likes or dislikes.  You have submitted to My authority and I approve.

Dear Father, I see a popular vote defining who we are when in fact truth is truth, it can not be denied whether  is accepted or not.  Thank You God for a great day yesterday, it was great visiting with others that are living their faith and recognizing Your call.  Prayers for a friend, may he find peace for his restless heart.  Help him see the joy in trusting You.  Bless this day Father, We are battle ready and eager to go.  Thank You and I love You beyond measure.  Amen.

Acts 14:19-20 5-21-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"However, some Jews from Antioch and Iconium arrived and won over the crowds. They stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead. But when the disciples gathered around him, he got up and entered the city. On the following day he left with Barnabas for Derbe." Acts‬ ‭14:19-20‬

I love Paul's tenacity, after being strengthened by the disciples, Paul goes back into the city, there was more that needed to be done.  We all need that encouragement when we are down, a place we can go to that lifts our spirits.  More the reason to go to church.  The devil would have us believe you can go it alone but there is strength in numbers.  "They strengthened the spirits of the disciples and exhorted them to persevere in the faith, saying, "It is necessary for us to undergo many hardships to enter the kingdom of God." Acts‬ ‭14:22‬ ‭ The journey is never alone and when we get to Heaven it won't be just four.  There will be a multitude, so if you have been struggling to go to church, Saint Paul justifies the importance of going.  You always leave better then when you come in.  Praise be to God!

What is God saying to me:  Listen to my voice, discern who is speaking but only heed Me.

Dear Father, a little battle weary this morning for some reason but strengthened by Your Word, the day awaits.  May I encourage someone today who is in need of help.  May I listen intently to what is being said and engage the Holy Spirit in my response.  Prayers for someone who has gotten involved with the wrong crowd and will pay for his mistakes, may He hear God loud and clear and change his ways.  Thank You for another day, lead the way.  In Jesus name, Amen.

John 14:23 5-20-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Jesus answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him." John‬ ‭14:23‬

God is Love, where God is there is love.  In our loving relationships we strive to take care of the other, to insure their comfort.  Love isn't self seeking but other seeking.  The same it is with our relationship with God, we know when we are doing right and when we are doing wrong.  They stand at the door and knock, it is us who decides to open the door and let them in.  The more we reside together the deeper our relationship grows, what was once hard, has become easy.  It is much like a marriage, it grows with time, especially when we are forgiven for our transgressions.   Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b

What is God saying to me? I stand at the door and knock, will you grow deeper in love with Me?

Dear Father, You know the answer is yes, You have been nothing but good to me.  I am overwhelmed by Your love and enjoy our time together.  It brings me joy, knowing You are right there.  You have rooted out what causes us pain and You continue to reveal Yourself to me.  May I walk in Your ways today Lord, may I do Your will and may I be used to glorify Your Kingdom.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 145:12-13 5-19-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Making known to the sons of men your mighty acts, the majestic glory of your rule. Your reign is a reign for all ages, your dominion for all generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all his words, and loving in all his works." Psalms‬ ‭145:12-13‬

My heart is heavy this morning for those who have fallen away, I was one of you five years ago but for one simple decision I would still be out of God's grace.  Knowing God isn't an action it is a relationship.  You understand relationships because you experience them, you grow in them.  God is no different, we get to experience God(WOW!), we get to grow in our relationship(Wow).  Believe it or not He understands you, all of you not just what you are willing to show.  God isn't old fashioned or outdated, He is real and He died on a cross just for you.  One simple decision will begin the journey to an unbelievable relationship and I can't express the joy in words.  But I know He can!

What is God saying to me: You are loved beyond comprehension, taste and see My goodness.

Dear Father, You know what my heart feels this morning, You know what and who this message is for.  I thank You for instilling Love in my heart, for the desire to reach out and especially for the one simple gesture that revealed a world I never new existed until You became a part of it.  Bless this day Lord, I am looking forward to singing hallelujah this morning and being in Your presence, there is nothing better.  To You be the Glory, Amen.

John 14:9 5-18-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?" ‭‭John‬ ‭14:9‬

Philip's eyes were preventing him to see what Jesus was saying?  Jesus was right in front of him, he could not see the Father with his eyes yet he could.  Was Jesus teaching us about the Trinity?  "The Father and I are one." John‬ ‭10:30‬   "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John‬ ‭1:1‬.  In our own world are we blinded to the truth because we can not see with the minds eye?  I spent a little time reflecting upon past events this morning, even back to childhood.  At the time I couldn't see God but now looking back I know He was there even in the unpleasant events.  Jesus asks us to look past the physical reality and see what is really going on.

What is God saying to me: What the eyes cannot see, the spirit can comprehend.

Dear Father, I struggle to understand the Trinity, I know You go beyond all understanding, help me see what I can not see.  Open up the doors of the past and unlock the hidden gems that are meant to glorify You and bring light into my world.  Thank You Father for answered prayers, for strengthened relationships and for a deeper love for You.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

John 14:4 5-17-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Where [I] am going you know the way."" John‬ ‭14:4‬

Inside each of us is our soul, it's desire is to get to Heaven, to be reunited with our Father.  Inside us is also our brain, do we use our intellect to think about God?  Do we see God laying out our roadmap to get to Heaven.  Or do we allow our feelings to take charge, do we stumble about in the darkness, blinded by our own insecurities, not knowing the way.  Deep down you know the way, you just don't know what is around the next corner, does it matter.  God has set your heart ablaze, embrace the gift of knowledge, engage the mind and be at peace.  You really do know the way!  How do I know that?  Because Jesus never speaks an untruth!

What is God saying to me: In the quietness is when I am the loudest, in the stillness, I am heard best.

Dear Father, You set my heart ablaze, you communicate in ways I am still comprehending.  Thank You for embracing Your child, for instilling a peace in my soul that brings comfort upon a rocky sea.  Thank You Lord for all the other brave souls who are entrusting their lives to You.  May You quietly raise up a mighty army that will not be stopped.  Father I praise You today with acts of Love, I will give back what You have given.  Bless this day and bless all those that read these words, especially the lost souls seeking to know You.  Amen.

John 13:16-17 5-16-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it." John‬ ‭13:16-17‬

Are you a good listener?  A good follower?  What about a good doer?  "The master then ordered the servant, 'Go out to the highways and hedgerows and make people come in that my home may be filled." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭14:23‬.  We are all sent but do we act?  Are we being obedient to the master?  Do we tell the message that He wants delivered.  "For the slave called in the Lord is a freed person in the Lord, just as the free person who has been called is a slave of Christ." ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭7:22‬.  Blessed are you if you do it - freedom in Christ is a great journey, become a slave to Him.

What is God saying to me: Time

Dear Lord God, thank You for this day, thank You for ever being in my thoughts, You are renewing my mind a little at a time.  Old habits/fears are being replaced with freedom and joy.  Prayers for a young man filled with anger who feels he isn't heard, may he recognize the voice of God in his life.  Bless this day and watch over us as we live lives of obedient servitude.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

John 12:47-48 5-15-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world. Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day," John‬ ‭12:47-48‬

Jesus gives us ample opportunity to listen and accept His Word.  Are we any different than the Scribes and the Pharisees if we reject His word and go about our own ways without God?  "Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and pursue from town to town," Matthew‬ ‭23:34‬.  He gives us free will to choose our path.  The woman at the well, He didn't condemn, He spoke truth to her and told her to sin no more.  No condemnation in His voice but a clear path forward.  It is when we knowingly and consciously reject the truth do we condemn ourselves.  Listen to God, He speaks to the heart, like the women at the well ask for forgiveness and go and sin no more.

What is God saying to me: careful, you have a lot to learn, continue on the journey.

Dear Father, You know my heart and my purpose, purify my mind and heart as I seek to make the teachings of Your Son Jesus, a priority in my life.  Thank You Father for this time together may it be as pleasing to you as it is to me.  Prayers for all those being guided by the Holy Spirit, may they glorify heaven today with the choices they make.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Acts 1:24-25 5-14-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Then they prayed, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosen to take the place in this apostolic ministry from which Judas turned away to go to his own place." Acts‬ ‭1:24-25‬

"I believe in one holy catholic apostolic church", Apostolic succession was given life by Peters insight in seeing the need to insure who ever was going to lead had proven themselves worthy of the office they would hold.  He also accepted the role that Christ gave him by leading the church in its infancy.    There is a simplicity in sitting still in the morning and letting God speak to you, Peter developed the ability to hear the voice of God after Jesus was gone.  All the lessons that Christ had taught him were now coming to him so he could establish Christ church here on earth.  Listen to the Holy Spirit, set aside your own prejudices and allow Christ to lead you, just like He did with Peter.

What is God saying to me: open your eyes, I gaze upon you with love.

Dear Lord, I pray for the Church, I pray for all those that are lost in the ways of the world, may they discern Your voice and do the will of Your Father.  Help us recognize the lessons You have been teaching us in our lives even when we believed we were walking alone.  I praise You today and give You thanks for the quiet moments, I thank You for the community that is available to each of us to learn from and be recharged by Your presence.  Bless this day Lord and may I be attentive to Your needs.  In Jesus name, Amen.

John 10:3-4 5-13-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice, as he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has driven out all his own, he walks ahead of them, and the sheep follow him, because they recognize his voice." John‬ ‭10:3-4‬

God is calling, are you being drawn to His voice, maybe you have yet to recognize it as His voice but you recognize the stirring in your heart.  It is the voice of the Good Shepherd you are hearing.  Jesus leads us to greener pastures but just like the sheep we must hear Him calling.  Recognize the voice of God in your life, isn't it time you started following the one who will lead you home.  Being out in the wilderness can be a very dark place but with Jesus there is a Joy and calmness that passes all understanding.  He knows the way.

What is God saying to me: I have prepared this day for You, I am with You, listen for my direction and step out on faith.

Dear Father, it is such a beautiful morning, the song birds are singing, making beautiful noises.  May I do the same as I go into my day.  Prayers for all those You are calling, help them see the beauty that is your voice.  Thank You for our quiet time and the joy of knowing You are with us.  Protect us this week from all harm, help those of us who cover up insecurities with much talk.  Bless this day Father, lead the way, we are following.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Revelation 7:9 5-12-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"After this I had a vision of a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation, race, people, and tongue. They stood before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands." Revelation‬ ‭7:9‬

Will you stand before the throne, before the Lamb today?  It is Sunday, the day we are to keep Holy, do we go and celebrate with the multitude, all over the world, to sing praise to God.  Many today have fallen away from the practice of going to church, they have fallen victim to the church of comfort, the church of self.  Many a mother seeks their children to stand before the throne.  Will you bring your offering to the altar today, to be before the tabernacle, to be in the presence of the Lamb?  Receive Jesus into your heart, receive Him into your spirit, He is the only one worthy, be in His presence and be washed clean.

What is God saying to me: I love you My child, I seek to give you something today, come, be counted among the multitude in Heaven and on earth.

Dear Father, I thank You today for all that You have done, for sparing Your children from the storms, I thank You for speaking loudly and clearly.  I thank You for my mother, for her strong faith and her witness to you.  Bless all the mothers today, give them comfort in knowing their prayers are being answered.  Bless this day Lord and may the hounds of Heaven pursue their purpose and bring the lost back home into Your House.  I ask this in the name of the Most High, Jesus Christ, Amen.

John 6:61b-62

"Does this shock you? What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?" John‬ ‭6:61-62‬

Jesus speaks another truth, one we all agree upon.  Jesus does have to shock our reality but in doing so He reveals Himself to us.  We recognize God in our midst and what is possible.  He doesn't do this without presenting evidence of who He is.  There is a joy in sitting at the Masters feet, listening to His words as He speaks them.  In the moments of quiet contemplation He draws us closer to Him, He awakens Himself to us and He becomes real.

What is God saying to me: I AM God, My reality is not yours, I AM.

Dear Father God, You are awe inspiring, You bring peace to my heart and soul when I enter Your presence.  It has been one mind blowing week, that I still struggle to understand but through it all I trust in You, with all my heart, all my soul and all my mind.  Engage our senses Lord to believe in the possibilities, remove any doubt we may have and breath life into our spirits, there is a world in need of You.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

John 6:52-53 5-10-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?" Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you." John‬ ‭6:52-53‬

The church 2000 years ago quarreled about the flesh and blood of Jesus.  "How can this man give us His flesh to eat?"   The church still argues this point today, "How can this man give us His flesh to eat?"  Do you consume Jesus? Body, soul and divinity of Christ?  Does He live in you?  You may accept the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist but do you accept the true presence of Christ in you?

Does it show?

What is God saying to me: Live In Peace, Live in the knowledge of knowing I am God, nothing is impossible for me.  Proclaim My Living Word.

Dear Father, You share Your love so easily with us, open our eyes to the reality of life with You on the inside.  Bring us to know all of You, even the hard teachings that are hard to understand.  May we be awakened to the beauty of life that You have to offer once we consume You and live with You. Broadcast Your message far and wide today Lord so You may find another lost sheep.  Praise be Your Holy Name, Amen.

Acts 8:32-33 5-9-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"This was the scripture passage he was reading: "Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he opened not his mouth. In [his] humiliation justice was denied him. Who will tell of his posterity? For his life is taken from the earth."" Acts‬ ‭8:32-33‬

Philip didn't have a Bible to study, he lived the scriptures.  In this relationship with the Living Word, he was able to help another person find Jesus.  He didn't just go to the temple to worship and then wait for next week.  He didn't just put his tithe in and come back next week.  He answered the call and his offering is all that he did, he brought that to the altar.  "Who will tell of His posterity for His life is taken from the earth." We all have a mission and purpose, when you stand at the pearly gates it won't be because you were the best ____________. (You fill in the blank). Be like Philip, walk with Jesus and give Him away, this is your mission.

What is God saying to me: It is I that works through you, relax and be yourself, you are my perfect creation.  Just be.

Dear Lord God, I take You into this day, it is You that gives me purpose.  My I fulfill my mission today and may Your word produce the fruit that is ready to be harvested.  Watch over Your family, draw us to You and may we walk by faith and not by sight.  You bless those who answer the call and honor You.  I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

John 6:35 5-8-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst." ‭‭John‬ ‭6:35‬

Who ever comes to me will never hunger, is an action statement.  It requires our faith to be put into action and come to Jesus.  The bread that He gives us consumes us, it feeds the soul and nourishes the body.  Our body gives us signs when it needs something why then do we ignore the sign of true happiness by not going to Jesus.  The happiness the world gives only leaves you seeking more.  Jesus gives us the right portions everyday and knows what produces happiness and satisfaction in our lives.  Listen to your body, it is seeking God.  Don't go thirsty by  turning to Him.

Dear Lord, wow, You never stop amazing me in my everyday life.  Walking with You everyday brings much joy, much food and never leaves me thirsty.  The songs You are writing on my heart are treasures that will be sung to glorify You.  You are drawing others to Your Divine Grace may they experience peace in their heart, may they be satisfied with what You give each day and may they do the will of God each day, one step at a time.  Bless this day and bring peace into our hearts.  Amen.

What is God saying to me: My beloved son, listen and be drawn deeper into my mercy.

Psalms 31:17,21AB 5-7-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your mercy.

You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from scheming enemies. You conceal them in your tent, away from the strife of tongues." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31:17, 21‬AB‭

You can not see God's face unless you are looking up.  Lifting our eyes to Heavens, seeks His help, drowns out the voices and removes us from the moment and places us in the presence of God.  Look up, makes us recognize who is in control, He looks back and sees His child seeking help.  He does not see His child trying to go it alone.  He sees His creation seeking the Master's help.  There is a joy that surpasses all understanding when You know that God has got this, He will give you instruction, look up and praise Him.

God saying to me: Be faithful in your walk today, watch what I am doing and you will be amazed.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for these pasts day, for the plans that You are laying out.  Help us trust in the path that You have us on.  Prayers for all those learning to recognize Your voice, may they discern Your voice from the evil one.  Bless this day Lord and watch over us as we go about being obedient to Your will.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

John 6:27 5-6-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal." ‭‭John‬ ‭6:27‬

In all that you do, do it to glorify God. Do not go through the motions. Ask God for help and then trust in Him. Listen to what He tells you and then just be. This is the day the Lord has given You, give Him your best, not a halfhearted effort. Recognize your gifts and talents and use them. This is glorifying God, this is preaching the Gospel but never forget to praise Him. Give Him the glory. The food that perishes is self seeking and is fleeting, last but a minute and never satisfies.

What is God saying to me: Be at peace today, allow Me to do the heavy lifting, just be who I created you to be, a child of Mine.

Dear Father, You understand me for You created me for a purpose, may I live out that purpose today. Give me the strength, the wisdom, the understanding to carry out Your plan today. Prayers for those that are on a new beginning, lift them up above the chaos and be their strength. Prayers for friends that are returning to a world that has been transformed, may they see the foundation that God is building in their lives and give thanks. To God be the Glory, Amen.

Acts 5:29, 32 5-5-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"But Peter and the apostles said in reply, "We must obey God rather than men.

We are witnesses of these things, as is the holy Spirit that God has given to those who obey him."" Acts‬ ‭5:29, 32

To whom much is given much is expected.  Everyday we make choices to obey God or obey man.  We don't think those transgressions really make a difference in our lives but they do.  They separate us from the One who loves us, He still loves us but we are the ones moving away from Him.  We separate ourselves from His graces and fall victim to our own sins.  God waits to pour out His grace but only does so in vessels that are being purified by their actions and desires.  Spend time in quiet reflection, understand that prayer makes a huge difference in your life, it quiets all the noise and distractions and places you in His presence.  Be a witness to the power and glory of God.

Dear Father, I thank You for another day, I thank You for the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life.  I thank You for the transformation that is going on around me.  Help those that are not walking with You, help them see that You are real and will not be mocked.  Prayers for a friend dancing with the devil, send Your Holy Spirit to give them insight to how their world is changing.  Watch over us this day, and may we slow down and give You thanks for having a life to live that honors You.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Psalms 33:18-19 5-4-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon those who fear him, upon those who count on his mercy, To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive through famine." Psalms‬ ‭33:18-19‬

"My Thoughts" - Life comes at us each day, your world can be transformed before your eyes into total chaos. In those moments, with God there is peace, without God there is devastation. With God there is joy in your heart, without God there is fear. Choose to walk by faith and not by sight. I fear God in that I give Him my time, I give Him a voice, I give Him my obedience, I listen to Him and I place myself and those I care for, under His protection. Otherwise I am a fool for in a blink of an eye, your life can be over. Walk by faith, not by sight and praise God. He is Mighty God whose hand will save.

"What is God saying to me" - I seek you, all of you, even what you are holding back. You are my perfect creation and I am your Protector. In the quiet of your heart I speak, I give you peace and joy of heart. Give me your time, be obedient to what I ask and live in peace, You are my child and I love You. No harm will fall upon you.

Dear Father, it is a beautiful morning, with immense thankfulness in my spirit this morning. You are our Great Protector and You have us. May I praise You today in small ways and big ways. Bring peace upon those impacted by the weather, lighten their load and fill them with Love for You. I ask this in Your Most Holy name, Yahweh, Amen.

Thanks be to God! Today could have been a different day but it is not. He loves you that much.

John 14:10 4-3-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works." John‬ ‭14:10‬

Are you living the Gospel, the Living Word of God?  We can study scripture and still not know God.  God will knock and then we get to choose, answer or do nothing.  Holy moments await in our lives when we answer.  Our answer allows God to go into action otherwise we keep Him inside.  "Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'" ‭‭ISAIAH‬ ‭41:10‬.  Living the Gospel can be scary but it isn't us but God working through us.  Stop denying God and give Him breath in your life.  Somebody else can not do it for you, you must step out of the boat and walk on the water.  God will be there to hold you up.  God knocks, will YOU answer.

Dear Lord, I am thankful for all those stepping out in faith and taking risks.  They are walking on water and living Your word.  Thank You for allowing me to witness it happening and being able to experience Holy moments.  Prayers for a group of men on retreat experiencing the power of God, strengthen them for their discipleship.  Prayers for a special intention may they be filled with joy and peace as they walk with you.  Bless this day Father, overcome our doubts and teach us Your wisdom in action.  Amen.

John 3:21 4-2-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.  John 3:21

Living a faithful life, is your life a prayer?  "And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians‬ ‭3:17‬ Is your will yours or is it the will of God?  If it is God's will then your life is your prayer back to Him because you are dying to self.  If you will expose yourself on the cross then nothing is being hidden.

I watched my grandchildren this past weekend and they were a handful.  Everything in our house got disrupted and it was a joy to be a part of.  My normal practices got disrupted and I literally could not make time to sit still and pray in my usual way.  I had a new found appreciation of parenting again and realized there are times in our life that are out of our control.  This wasn't my will but God's will for me this past weekend.  My prayer was my life back to Him to be the best for His children.  In our own lives, your vocation, your job, your actions can be your prayer back to God.  You are not living for your own glory but for His.  Jesus died on the cross not by His own accord but by His Father's.  Jesus's was in constant communication with His Heavenly Father, are you in constant communication or do things of this world get in the way?  "Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy. For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit." ‭‭John‬ ‭33-34‬.  Live the life God gives you, listen to Him all the time and do His will not yours.  Find time to sit still, a busy life is not an excuse.  Die to self.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the times of Joy in my life even if it can be exhausting.  I thank You for constantly being in my thoughts.  Help me die to self today remove those times I feel I am under attack.  Help me live the truth you have layed our for me, do not ration Your Holy Spirit in our lives and help us proclaim the truth in a world that desires truth.  I ask this in Jesu name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Psalms 34:7 5-1-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"This poor one cried out and the LORD heard, and from all his distress he saved him." Psalms‬ ‭34:7‬

I close my eyes this morning and see a lot of people crying out for help.  He hears EVERYONE of our cry's and sends help, are you His hands, His eyes, His ears, His voice, His Body?

Are you crying out?  Do you see His answer?  It may not be very obvious to you, but He does answer.  He will save you from your distress and maybe that saving will require you to step out on faith.  On our step of faith, I believe, He will acknowledge it is the right path. Be attentive to His promptings.

Dear Father, the work is plentiful and the workers few, draw your disciples into action and allow them to see Your approval.  I thank You for Your promptings and the joy of knowing it isn't a step of faith but the right path.  I thank You Father for answering the cry and drawing others into Your Kingdom.  Prayers for their peace of mind, that they know You heard them and You got this.  I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus.  P.S. You amaze me!!
