Isaiah 14:1-2 God’s favor

"But the LORD will take pity on Jacob and again choose Israel, and will settle them on their own land; foreigners will join them and attach themselves to the house of Jacob. The nations will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them as male and female slaves on the Lord's land; they will take captive their captors and rule over their oppressors."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭14:1-2‬

Isaiah 14:1-2  God's favor.  When God removes His favor our world changes, we will receive our prideful ways only to fall victim to them.  When God's favor is upon us, our world is made right.   We do not realize how good we have it until we lose it.  Set backs in life make us ponder what is truly important, we see the err of our ways and correct them.  God's lessons are always the best for when He rebuilds He always rebuilds stronger for His lessons take root.  Others see these changes and want what it is that makes you strong.  That strength is God in your life:  "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."  ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬  Be thankful for your place in life even if it isn't so great, if it is great be extra careful for your blessings come from Heaven and not in your own ability.   Trust in God and all is well.
What is God saying to me:  All will be well for you are mine.

Dear Father, there is a lot to be thankful for but my most prized possession is You, You have my attention and it is You that I wish to serve.  The treasures this world offers are passing but You are eternal, never to end.  Thank You Father for speaking with me this morning, in the stillness Your voice is clear.  Bless this coming week Lord, keep us safe and out of harms way.  Prayers for a
friend that does not put value on You Lord, release him from captivity and set him free.  Teach us Lord what is important for our well being and may we be ever present to You.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 13 - A Flock with no shepherd.

"Indeed, the day of the LORD comes, cruel, with wrath and burning anger; To lay waste the land and destroy the sinners within it! The stars of the heavens and their constellations will send forth no light; The sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not give its light. Thus I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their guilt. I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant, the insolence of tyrants I will humble."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭13:9-11‬

Isaiah 13 - A Flock with no Shepherd.  The imagery that Isaiah paints can be terrifying, imagine the scene as if you are in a rudderless ship.  Even though this was written 2500 plus years ago, it could be said of this time.  "And the fruit of the womb they shall not spare, nor shall their eye take pity on children."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭13:18‬B  Is that not today, we see the fight playing out in the media and some are their own shepherd being lead to destruction.   "Like a hunted gazelle, or a flock that no one gathers, They shall turn each to their own people and flee each to their own land."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭13:14‬  If God can do this in the past why do we believe He would not do it in this time.  May Jesus be your Shepherd and may you listen to His voice and do as He instructs each of us.  "I urge you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship. Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect."  Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬

What is God saying to me: I do nothing without first speaking of it.

Dear Lord God, we live in an interesting time, You are speaking through the past that paints the reality of the future if we do not heed Your voice.  Father, I Am listening and following, You are my Shepherd.  I pray for those going about frolicking not realizing the trap that is being laid.  In listening Lord, there is nothing to fear for You are with us and You faced it all in triumphant victory.  I pray for a family that lost a wife yesterday to Covid, she had You as her Shepherd and has finished the race.  May Your Perpetual Light shine upon her and may she rest In Peace.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 12:1-6 On that day

"God indeed is my salvation; I am confident and unafraid. For the LORD is my strength and my might, and he has been my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the fountains of salvation,". ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭12:2-3‬

Isaiah 12:1-6  On that day.  Can you picture Heaven?  Close your eyes and see the prize, who is there?  I see Jesus along with lots of loved ones, it brings tears to my eyes.  They have fought the good fight and are with the Master.  Well done my good and faithful servant are words they have already heard.  We have yet to hear those words so we draw water from the fountains of salvation.  We listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His direction as He gives us graces to move forward.  This past week the grace has been to trust, even though it was not comfortable, God said to trust in Him.  To take that step of faith and do the task that He asked of me.  I realized that I am weak but He is strong, with this knowledge I can move forward for "on that day" He will be there along with all those who I hold dear in my heart.  Happy Saturday, drink plenty of water, God forbid you get thirsty.

What is God saying to me: ❤️

Dear Heavenly Father, we walk in the cool of the morning and enjoy each other's company.  You help me reflect upon things of the past, showing me the way forward, You know the journey is not easy but You make sure Your grace is sufficient to finish the race.  I thank You for this image, the image of Your Holiness, the image of a friend sharing His joy.  I thank You for the book of Isiah and Your word that is penetrating my heart.  Thank You for that still small voice that faint whisper that says trust, You are Mighty God, You are Holy God, may I always please You and never fail.  Prayers for this day, that none go thirsty and drink from the well spring of Life, Amen.

Isaiah 11:1-9 Peace

"They shall not harm or destroy on all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be filled with knowledge of the LORD, as water covers the sea."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭11:9‬

Isaiah 11:1-9  Peace.   The fear of the Lord is my delight. God's word WILL BE fulfilled, the wolf will be the guest of the lamb, peace will cover the earth.  In the Word of God is the life of God, when we sit and listen to the Triune God, His life takes root in us.  It produces fruit that feeds the soul and you know who God is, you have a friendship with Him.  He teaches you and guides you, your actions are done out of love.  We don't judge others we just want them to have the same relationship with God.  The Word is the seed, read it,  and be the guest of the lamb.  Was I a wolf before I knew God, in a way I was, tearing others down, looking out for number one, feeding the flesh.  As His guest each morning, He is taking root, His bud is growing.

What is God saying to me: The table of plenty, you never know what is in the dish until you remove the lid, I speak and you listen with the heart.

Dear Father God, there is much to be gleamed when eating at Your table, there is a joy that is indescribable that others need to know.  Father You have many blessings if we will sit still and listen.  I thank You for the opportunity to practice what You preach, when we respond in love, Jesus plants the seed.  Prayers for those in the path of this storm, as we call upon You, our lives will be changed for You are Mighty God, our One True God who saves.  Bless this day Father, there is more to learn, thanks for the lessons.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 10:26-34 Faith Truth

"Even today he will halt at Nob, he will shake his fist at the mount of daughter Zion, the hill of Jerusalem! Now the Lord, the LORD of hosts, is about to lop off the boughs with terrible violence; The tall of stature shall be felled, and the lofty ones shall be brought low;". ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭10:32-33‬

Isaiah 10:26-34  Faith Truth.  Imagine you are in the city of Jerusalem, you have been getting word of the approaching army, they have moving forward, well prepared and have taken control as they move, what do you do?  How do you feel?  Do you run?  Do you stay?  Do you fall victim to fear, anxiety.  The enemy does approach, even today, many will face him whether it be cancer, sickness, financial, strive, the question is the same, what do you do?  You Stand!  Life will come at you, it is your faith in God that carries you thru.  Even if afraid you stand in the knowledge that God is in control, you do your part and He will do His part.  "Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong."  ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭16:13‬ ‭ The Bible tells us what happened to the Assyrian king's  army, they are defeated.   "Then the LORD sent an angel, who destroyed every warrior, leader, and commander in the camp of the Assyrian king, so that he had to return shamefaced to his own country. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down there with the sword."
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭32:21‬

What is God saying to me: My faithfulness is shown when you stand firm in the truth.

Dear Father, I am thankful I Am able to listen to You, this is a gift that gives me Joy and as you know discomfort at times.  I will stand in the knowledge of Your faithfulness, I will not fear the dark of knight nor the arrow that flies by day.  There are many examples of those that stood firm in Your truth and they live to glorify You, they walk amongst us  I thank You for sending Your angels to defeat what we can not see.  Prayers for a family with a loved one with stage four lung cancer, we know You are Mighty God and You are working all things out.  Put breath in his lungs Lord so he may live to glorify You with his life.  Bless this day as we go into the vineyard, in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 10:5-27. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One.

"Ah! Assyria, the rod of my wrath, the staff I wield in anger.

But when the LORD has brought to an end all his work on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I will punish the utterance of the king of Assyria's proud heart, and the boastfulness of his haughty eyes.

Will the ax boast against the one who hews with it? Will the saw exalt itself above the one who wields it? As if a rod could sway the one who lifts it, or a staff could lift the one who is not wood!  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭10:5, 12, 15

Isaiah 10:5-27.  Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One.  Pride leads to destruction, King Assyria believed in all his accomplishments, the victories were his own doing while in fact it was God who had allowed him to go after weak minded people.  God is in control, when we turn from God, the road leads to death.

Renew your minds with the Word of God, there is much to learn and it produces the result that your heart desires.   "Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬

What is God saying to me?

Dear Holy One, history will repeat itself and we as a people will learn the faults of our ways.  Father, turn our hearts to You, help us see how You are in complete control and truly give us what we want.  With You life is a joy, without You it leads to destruction for pride will eat whatever it is given.  I pray for people to see what is really going on, to see clearly and their paths to be made straight, straight to You.  Prayers for a friend who lacks trust in Your Mighty hand, heal their spirit Lord and give them confidence in knowing all will be well.  You are God Almighty, the Creator of the Universe.  Amen.

Isaiah 10:1-4 The Warning

"Ah! Those who enact unjust statutes, who write oppressive decrees, What will you do on the day of punishment, when the storm comes from afar? To whom will you flee for help? Where will you leave your wealth, Lest it sink beneath the captive or fall beneath the slain? For all this, his wrath is not turned back, his hand is still outstretched!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭10:1,3-4‬

Isaiah 10:1-4. The Warning.  Most of the time the storm is seen coming from afar unless one isn't paying attention and then it catches you off guard.  Isaiah is warning those in charge of impending doom if they do not change their ways.   God doesn't respond to injustice without first warning and giving the opportunity to choose right over wrong.  His outstretched hand is there to help us up and choose right.  Pretty easy to see the injustices of those who write decrees.  The say one thing but do the opposite, watch out for the storm.

What is God saying to me: In a covenant relationship you can not be caught off guard, I allow you to see what is coming.

Dear Lord God, there is much to be thankful for this morning, I am thankful for our time together and the opportunity to see.  You always prepare those who are ready, Your hand is outstretched in hopes of a welcoming response to accept this grace.  Watch over our family this week, engage their senses and breath hope into their lives.  Thank You Father for joyous celebrations for ones who have child like faith, may they not forget these moments.  Bless this week and all our activities, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 9:8-20 Truth

"And all the people know it— Ephraim and those who dwell in Samaria— those who say in arrogance and pride of heart, "Bricks have fallen, but we will rebuild with cut stone; Sycamores have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars."

The people do not turn back to the one who struck them, nor do they seek the LORD of hosts."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:8-9, 12‬

Isaiah 9:8-20 Truth.  It is a beautiful Sunday morning and I have spent it in mental gymnastics, contemplating God's word.  We don't hear much about the wrath of God, we hear much about His love and mercy.  But those who chose to ignore Him and His truths are in opposition to God.  There is much to be learned in quiet reflection, listening to God.  Have you tried telling God how it will go, He only laughs and sees the faults in your ways.  A relationship with God leads to peace, it opens up His love to you, otherwise "For all this, his wrath is not turned back, his hand is still outstretched!" ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:20‬b. Are you in opposition or communion with The Truth?

What is God saying to me: You sit, I speak even in the nothingness I Am there.

Dear Father, there is much to be learned when we sit in the stillness.  Learning to quiet the mind and listen, to let go of ego and reflect upon You and Your word brings about peace.  I know You are Loving God and are slow to anger but will get angry.  Lord, have mercy upon our ignorance and teach us Your ways.  Get our attention so we may spend eternity in Your presence.  Thank You for answered prayers, thank You for listening and speaking.  Special prayers this morning for a friend finding his way back to You, rebuilding is only achieved when You are consulted.  Amen.

Isaiah 9:1-6. Jesus

"For the yoke that burdened them, the pole on their shoulder, The rod of their taskmaster, you have smashed, as on the day of Midian.

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us; upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:3, 5‬

Isaiah 9:1-6.  Jesus.  We are given the gift of Christ, what do we do with Him?  I think back over this past week and see some of the burdens that some have been asked to carry.  They don't turn away from the task, they willing follow God-Hero with trust in their heart and peace in their spirit even though the cross has weight.  To deny the cross is to deny Jesus, our Wonder-Counselor.  Watching God at work through others is like watching gifts being opened on Christmas morning, the day God gave us His Son.  "And He *said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.""  ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:19‬

What is God saying to me: I answer prayers, I Am Wonder-Counselor, in this way is My will being done and wounds are being healed.

Dear Father God, I Thank You for the wonderful gifts You give us when we lay down our burdens at Your feet, pick up the cross and witness the Sonrise.  Thank You Father for Your perfect timing, Your perfect teaching and for the gift of patience.  Help us see there is no resurrection without suffering, it is in carrying Your cross and following You where miracles happen.  Bless this day Father, Thank You for another God filled morning.  Amen.

Isaiah 8:11-22 God’s Word

"For thus said the LORD —his hand strong upon me—warning me not to walk in the way of this people: Do not call conspiracy what this people calls conspiracy, nor fear what they fear, nor feel dread. But conspire with the LORD of hosts; he shall be your fear, he shall be your dread."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:11-22‬

Isaiah 8:11-18 God's Word.  Do we listen to man and his ways or do we listen to God, the one true way?  How hard it must be for God to sit and watch His people turn away from Him and truth.  They would listen to man and allow their ears to be tickled only to fall victim to the trap.  I see Jesus standing before the Disciples offering up the sacrifice to His Father in Heaven saying: "Do this in remembrance of me!"  I will read the Word of God, Listen to His voice and be obedient to Him, Him shall I fear.  Jesus gives us truth and warns us about the ways of man.  The Son of Man shall I follow.  "Bind up my testimony, seal the instruction with my disciples."  Isaiah‬ ‭8:16‬

What is God saying to me: Let My word penetrate your soul.  Chew on it with the Holy Spirit, it will change the way you think and do.  You are my child, be obedient to My instructions.

Dear Father, You live within, encouraging my steps, giving instructions, speaking through Your word.  I do not want to look through rose colored glasses, I want to know Your word and Your ways.  Instruct me Lord and be in me.  Prayers for what You ask each of us to do, may we sit in open dialogue with each other and communicate truth that penetrates the soul and breathes Your life within.  Prayers for this country and its future, You are the way and the Truth, may we conspire with You and live forever.  Thank You Father for sitting with me this morning   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 8:5-10. God Triumphs

"Because this people has rejected the waters of Shiloah that flow gently, And melts with fear at the display of Rezin and Remaliah's son,

Form a plan, it shall be thwarted; make a resolve, it shall not be carried out, for "With us is God!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:6, 10‬

Isaiah 8:5-10.  God Triumphs.  Isaiah is a prophet, what he wrote down has come to pass.  The people of his time rejected God, Isaiah told them the outcome, God wins.  Looking back into history gives us the future.  Walk with God, do not fear, He is with us, He wins.  No matter what the other side tries, it will fail.  Jesus hung on a cross knowing the outcome, know God, know the outcome.  "It shall roll on into Judah, it shall rage and pass on— up to the neck it shall reach. But his outspread wings will fill the width of your land, Emmanuel!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:8‬

What is God saying to me:  know the outcome, look at My Son and know the outcome.

Dear Father, I sit and contemplate the struggle, the enemy stops at nothing to separate us from You, in all of this I see You at work.  Peace comes from knowing You and speaking with You.  I thank You for the victories already accomplished and the victories to come.  May we slow down and see the fight, may we not get lost in the challenges of the day.  May we live in You and live for You.  Prayers for friends traveling, keep them safe Father, You know the whole day and I Am with You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 8:1-4 Prophecy

"The LORD said to me: Take a large tablet, and inscribe on it with an ordinary stylus, "belonging to Maher-shalal-hash-baz," and call reliable witnesses for me, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah, son of Jeberechiah."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:1-2‬

Isaiah 8:1-4. Prophecy.  "On the other hand, one who prophesies does speak to human beings, for their building up, encouragement, and solace."  ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:3‬.  Isaiah does exactly as God asks of him, he prophecies an event that will happen in the future, he gets a priest and another to witness his prediction so when it happens it will be verified.  Isaiah operates within the authority of God and God confirms the prophecy with the outcome.   This is all so that the Church can be build up.  Isaiah doesn't take this upon himself to prophecies, they are God's words.  A question for some to ponder, by whose authority do you operate.  Our messages can create confusion, God gave us the Church so we may adhere to the teachings of the Bride and be in communion with Him.  Check your authority and insure you are not
taking liberties yourself and are operating under your own authority.

What is God saying to me: One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church.

Dear Lord, division is of the devil, confusion is his weapon.  Unite Your people Lord and help us see what ways we are sowing discord.  Lead us to the true authority You have given us and may we not lean upon our own understanding.  Prayers for a fruitful day, thank You for the blessings of rain last night.  May I take You everywhere with me today.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 7:10-25. A Sign

"Again the LORD spoke to Ahaz: Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God; let it be deep as Sheol, or high as the sky! But Ahaz answered, "I will not ask! I will not tempt the LORD!" Then he said: Listen, house of David! Is it not enough that you weary human beings? Must you also weary my God? Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign; the young woman, pregnant and about to bear a son, shall name him Emmanuel.  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:10-14‬

Isaiah 7:10-25.  A Sign. The family tree, we would think that Jesus's family tree would be perfect but it isn't.  King Ahaz, does not believe in God, Isaiah was sent to give him a sign, one that Ahaz could proclaim himself but his unbelief was greater and Isaiah has to proclaim the sign, the birth announcement of the Son of God, the one that set everything in motion.  "To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary.   To one without faith no explanation is possible."  St Thomas Aquinas.   God makes every effort to reach us, He gives us signs of His existence, we have free will to chose, denying His existence does not make Him go away, it just condemns you to an eternity where you will come to know that He is real.  Ahaz found this out

What is God saying to me: I do exist, I Am with you.

Dear Father, help our unbelief, give us the gift of eternity with You.  Sides are being drawn up, and people will choose to believe or not believe.   In the end Your reality will reveal itself to those who ignore the truth.  My prayer is that all come to know You, love You and to serve You.   I may not understand all that is in the Bible but I know who created me and I know who's image I Am made in.  Prayers for this day and what it has to offer, use me where I am needed.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 7:1-9 Stay Calm

"Then the LORD said to Isaiah: Go out to meet Ahaz, you and your son Shear-jashub, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the highway to the fuller's field, and say to him: Take care you remain calm and do not fear; do not let your courage fail before these two stumps of smoldering brands, the blazing anger of Rezin and the Arameans and of the son of Remaliah—". ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:3-4

Isaiah 7:1-9 Stay Calm.  God sends a messenger, Isaiah, to remind Ahaz who is on his side.  We need those reminders as well that God is with us, we shall not fear and remain calm.  Knowing what you know gives you strength, it allows you to draw upon the strength of the Lord.  The odds may appear to be stacked against you but you have God.  I recall a time I called upon God, it was a scary time, the odds were stacked against us and the outcome looked bleak but in the midst of that trial, God sent a messenger, a very large one.  In that moment, I knew it would be ok.  "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely; In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬

What is God saying to me:

Dear Father, I thank You for that memory this morning and how everything worked out just the way it was suppose too.  You are always by our side and will respond when we call upon You.  There is a lot going on but we are to remain calm and stay focused upon You.  I thank You Father for a great start on a project, it will be what You desire.  Thank You for the insight to follow and listen to Your voice.  Bless this day Lord, keep us safe and free from all danger.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 6 - God prepares

"Then I said, "Woe is me, I am doomed! For I am a man of unclean lips, living among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!" Then one of the seraphim flew to me, holding an ember which he had taken with tongs from the altar. He touched my mouth with it. "See," he said, "now that this has touched your lips, your wickedness is removed, your sin purged." Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" "Here I am," I said; "send me!""
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭6:5-8

Isaiah 6: - God prepares.  Do you recognize your own sinfulness?  Isaiah did in the presence of the Lord of Hosts, we all will recognize our own sinfulness.  Isaiah voices his plight and he is made holy.  Acknowledging our sins before God is the beginning of holiness.  God prepares us for our journeys, He is there with us in the journeys, even in the failings.  When we chose to ignore His voice, the journey leads to desolation and then maybe we are ready to listen.  Isaiah was prepared to say "Here I am", God makes the way, we have to trust in His voice and be prepared to be made holy, it happens in the trials of Fire.  Listen and respond.

What is God saying to me: Trust in My will,

Dear Lord God, You are Holy indeed.  I thank You for being able to receive You at mass, in the Eucharist.  I thank You Lord for all the preparations that You provide, help us see how we ignore the truth and cause our own desolation because we turn our back to You and Your way.  Help us be Your holy people, who honor and worship You in the sacrifice of Your Son.  It is You that feeds the soul that purifies Your creation to be in Your presence forever.  Bless this Sunday Lord and May we be open to Your voice, Amen.

Isaiah 5:26-30 Hope

"They will growl over it, on that day, like the growling of the sea, Look to the land— darkness closing in, the light dark with clouds!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭5:30‬

Isaiah 5:26-30 - Hope.  It is light that penetrates the darkness.  The Light of Truth is what the world needs,  we are in a spiritual battle, Jesus faced this battle, Mary lived this battle and we are in it.  Knowing that the light of Christ penetrates the darkness, keep this thought with you.  I see a world in need of Jesus, just like Isaiah.  Do not let your hearts be troubled with this present day darkness, Jesus said, He has already overcome it.  Focus upon Him, trust in His ways and press on, His day is coming.

What is God saying to me: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."  John‬ ‭14:6‬

Dear Lord, we see the storm raging on, people being drawn in and You remind us that You are the light of this world.  With You in our hearts, our hope is secure.  I see the need Lord, You give purpose to my step and I am willing.  Give us Your light that sees through the darkness and allow us to bring hope to the hopeless.  I thank You for this joy and the strength.  Prayers for a couple within the cloud, Jesus is with you, focus upon Him and do not fear, all will be well.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah 5:20 - Now

"Ah! Those who call evil good, and good evil, who change darkness to light, and light into darkness, who change bitter to sweet, and sweet into bitter!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭5:20‬

Isaiah 5:20 - Now.  We are living at such a time, reading Isaiah 5:8-25, it can be today.  This is the message of the culture, there is no peace if one tunes into it and those that do, do not see it happening.   As Isaiah sat and watched, he was not caught up in the trap, he engaged with his Father in Heaven.  We too can step back and engage with God, to honor the Holy One of Israel.  "But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted by judgment, by justice the Holy God shown holy."  Isaiah‬ ‭5:16‬.  He will have His day, do not be caught up as in stubble.  "Therefore, as the tongue of fire licks up stubble, as dry grass shrivels in the flame, Their root shall rot and their blossom scatter like dust; For they have rejected the instruction of the LORD of hosts, and scorned the word of the Holy One of Israel."  Isaiah‬ ‭5:24‬.  Be engaged with your Father in Heaven.

What is God saying to me: It will come to pass as in days of old.

Dear Father, it is difficult to watch, we are each called by name but some chose to ignore the call.  I pray each are given ears to hear and see what is going on around them.  Give us the desire to know You, to love You and to serve You.  Prepare the vineyard for the harvest and make ready the workers.  Thank You for another day Father to draw breath from You and by Your grace to do Your will.  Prayers for a friend under attack, give him strength to handle the blow, protect him.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 5:1-7 - The Outcry

"Now let me sing of my friend, my beloved's song about his vineyard. My friend had a vineyard on a fertile hillside; He spaded it, cleared it of stones, and planted the choicest vines; Within it he built a watchtower, and hewed out a wine press. Then he waited for the crop of grapes, but it yielded rotten grapes.

The vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, the people of Judah, his cherished plant; He waited for judgment, but see, bloodshed! for justice, but hark, the outcry!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭5:1-2, 7‬

Isaiah 5:1-7 - The Outcry.  What produces good grapes?  The ground has been prepared,  good fertile ground, stones removed, choices vines planted and yet it produces rotten grapes.  Do we take all that we have for granted?  Do we appreciate a roof over our heads, water on demand, God who loves us, ears that listen?  We are living within very interesting times and we are each called to produce good fruit.  When we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and do not concern ourselves with the whims of the times, we are being fed by God's Grace.  If we chose to ignore God then we will be caught up in the turmoil, battered around and eventually there will be an outcry for God.  Sing of your friend, Jesus.    "The beginning of wisdom is fear of the LORD, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭9:10‬

What is God saying to me: You are understanding My friendships, it is available for all who listen to My voice.

Dear Lord God, I Love Your teaching and preparations You give to those that love You.  Even in the challenges of the day, there You are, at the ready to help and give good direction.  Father, my words do not give You justice but I pray my actions will this day.  Thank You for Your graces, for the blessing of air in my lungs, for purpose in all that I do and for the hope that I have in my heart.  Thank You Father for answering prayer and for preparing the ground for the harvest, may those who are crying out, fix their eyes upon You and live within peace, Amen.

Isaiah 4:2-6 - On that day

"On that day, The branch of the LORD will be beauty and glory, and the fruit of the land will be honor and splendor for the survivors of Israel. Everyone who remains in Zion, everyone left in Jerusalem Will be called holy: everyone inscribed for life in Jerusalem.

For over all, his glory will be shelter and protection: shade from the parching heat of day, refuge and cover from storm and rain."
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭4:2-3, 6‬

Isaiah 4:2-6 - On that day.  Isaiah has vision of a glorious day, one we are all waiting for.  Isaiah is a Hebrew but is speaking with power and authority given him from on high.  As you envision Isaiah, he is a man filled with the spirit of Jesus, his relationship with our Father is shining through.  Listen to him speak, he is living in the shade, within the shelter and protection from the storm and rain.  If Isaiah can do this before the Son of Man came to earth, you can do it knowing the story of Jesus.  Listen to Isaiah speak.  "yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me; insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me."  ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭2:20‬

What is God saying to me:

Dear Lord God, I envision a man living his faith, going thru life entrusting himself to you and being given Your grace.  He is an example of walking by faith, not by sight.  His vision has not happened yet he is living within the vision.  Thank You Father for this insight and for the desire to trust in our walk each day.  Prayers for all the children starting school this week, prayers for their parents to breathe easy and live in the glory of God.  Bless this day Father, bless my actions and my words that they accomplish what You desire.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 3:16-4:1 Inner Beauty

"Her gates will lament and mourn, as the city sits desolate on the ground."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭3:26‬

Isaiah 3:16-4:1.  Inner Beauty.  We can adorn ourselves with many things that covers up God's creation but God still sees the heart. "As face mirrors face in water, so the heart reflects the person."  Proverbs‬ ‭27:19‬  When we get our heart right with God and allow His beauty to shine through, we will not sit desolate upon the ground.  In all that we do we are motivated by something, is your motivation the will of God?  Will it shine light upon Him, if the answer is no then at some point be prepared for correction.  "For whom the LORD loves he reproves, as a father, the son he favors."  ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:12‬.  Work with God on the inside and the outside will shine.

What is God saying to me:  I hear you, these situations are for you to examine your motivations and align them with Me.

Dear Father, a world that doesn't begin its day with You is lost.  There is lots going on and with You, all will be fine for You are at work.  You know the inner me, correct what needs correcting and do with me as you will.  Prayers for someone who achieved what they desired  and are sitting desolate not knowing what went wrong.  You are the Great Teacher and in these moments we are given the chance to change, to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and go again knowing Who was missing.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 3:1-15 - A message for our day.

"Happy the just, for it will go well with them, the fruit of their works they will eat. Woe to the wicked! It will go ill with them, with the work of their hands they will be repaid."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭3:10-11‬

Isaiah 3:1-15 - A message for our day.  "Jerusalem has stumbled, Judah has fallen; for their speech and deeds affront the LORD, a provocation in the sight of his majesty."  Isaiah‬ ‭3:8‬.  A people that is lost seeking a ruler that will save them, that will have the solution and all will be well.   Without God in their lives, they are blind to the truth following the speech of what sounds sweet.  God allows them to follow their ill fated plan for He is not consulted.  These bible verses can very well be today, who will be the next savior to our dilemma.  How many are following the voice of deception not realizing that God is at the ready to be their ruler. He will lead them upon the just path and what they receive will satisfy.  The only ruler we need is Jesus, stop following the voice of deception and trust in God.

What is God saying to me: History will repeat itself but those who follow Me shall not fear.

Dear Father, there are many following the whims of the day not knowing the deception that is being played upon them.  In the stillness of the morning, all is well, there is no drama only the reassurance of You, who is in charge of my life.  I thank You Father for this reminder and the confidence that together we will achieve Your vision.  I thank You for the joys of family and friends, for the reminder of what is important in our lives.  Prayers for those searching for security, Jesus is the answer.  Bless this day Father, Amen.

Isaiah 2:2-5. Training

"He shall judge between the nations, and set terms for many peoples. They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; One nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again."  Isaiah‬ ‭2:4‬

Isaiah 2:2-5 Training.  A sword or a spear cuts down, plowshares and pruning hooks bring on new growth.   When we take the time to go to the house of God, sit at His feet and be trained, our outlook changes, it isn't us against them but rather how can I help, what can I do to build the city of God.    Without knowing it, your tongue is a sword that cuts down.  "They sharpen their tongues like swords, bend their bows of poison words."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭64:4‬.  Be willing to be trained by our God.  Change your language and experience the new growth that only God can give.  "House of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD!"  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭2:5‬

What is God saying to me:  Enjoy the day, go out and put the lesson into practice, guard your words.

Dear Heavenly Father, it is such a peaceful morning, watching the honey bees go about their tasks, tending the flowers and producing honey.  Thank You for the stillness and being able to see the simplicity of life, there is much we can learn when we observe what is going on around us.  Make us super sensitive to Your calling Lord so much honey can be produced.  Bless this day and the time You are giving us.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 1:29-31 - Desire

"You shall be ashamed of the terebinths which you desired, and blush on account of the gardens which you chose. You shall become like a terebinth whose leaves wither, like a garden that has no water."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:29-30‬

Isaiah 1:29-31 - Desire.  What is a terebinth? It is like a mighty oak with broad base and many branches, a symbol of strength and it is not God.  What terebinth's have you desired?  Look around you, they are in plain site, what have you placed value upon and sought out.  A desire is a thought before it becomes a reality, where is God at within your desires?  All the other things we desire, if not from God lead us away from God.  In my morning prayer, I ask the Holy Spirit to lead me into the heart of God.  With God's heart, my desire is doing His will.  This doesn't happen overnight but overtime my ill fated desires are replaced with what brings Him joy and peace to my heart.  Examine your desires and unless from God, replace them or be ready to be cut down.

What is God saying to me:  within My shade, you are well cared for, seek Me.

Dear Father, in my life You have always allowed me to seek my desires, some are filled with joy, others are filled with pain.  In my journey, you are leading me into Your heart and replacing my desires with Yours.  You are the giver of all good gifts and are growing our roots deep for a purpose.  I thank You Father for the strength You are giving in the silence of the morning.  Prayers for a family burying a child today, ease their burden Lord.  Prayers for those who are scared for what ever reason, help them see Your glory and lead them into Your heart where fear can not reside.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah 1:21-28 - The God of Justice

"Zion shall be redeemed by justice, and her repentant ones by righteousness. Rebels and sinners together shall be crushed, those who desert the LORD shall be consumed."  Isaiah‬ ‭1:27-28‬

Isaiah 1:21-28 - The God of Justice.  We do not hear much about the God of Justice, life is a fire that we are tested in, it either consumes us and we fall victim to it or we see the enemy and welcome God into our life to be consumed by Him.  No one in the Bible got out unscathed, they each faced their trials.  In these trials they were purified, they were strengthened, they became strong warriors, they became saints.  We are in the fire, welcome the refinement, seek the Lord in all situations, even in the pain, have a conversation, He will never abandon you even though it may feel like it.  God is love.

What is God saying to me: You are loved that much that My Son bore your punishment this uncomfort is but a trial and will pass.

Dear Father, I welcome the refinement in my life, the small trials that I turn into mountains.  Teach me Lord Your ways so I can do Your will for my life.  Prayers for a loving family experiencing pain Father, in this trial bring about Your glory in their lives.  I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah 1:2-20 At the Heart of it

"Hear, O heavens, and listen, O earth, for the LORD speaks: Sons have I raised and reared, but they have rebelled against me! An ox knows its owner, and an ass, its master's manger; But Israel does not know, my people has not understood."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:2-3‬

Isaiah 1:2-20 At the Heart of it.  Who is speaking in these verses?  The Lord speaks, Isaiah is the ox or the ass for he is doing what the Master asks of him.  We can know about God but do we know who He is, are we fed by Him?  Isaiah speaks of another time but it can well be today.  People going about ignoring God, doing the minimum to gain access to Heaven, going thru the motions or ignoring Him completely.   A little self examination goes along way, what are your motivations in life.  A beast of burden needs nourished at the Masters feet otherwise he becomes stubborn, love penetrates the longing in your heart.  As my wife's grandmother would say, "Eat we got plenty", God says the same, eat at His table, open yourself up to His scriptures.

What is God saying to me: Eat, you will never go hungry at My table.

Dear Father, I love You and the joy You give when we dine together, all my needs are met.  You know my heart Lord and You speak in ways that I can not describe even though I try.  I thank You for the gift of sensitive hearing, I hear Your voice and respond as best as I can.   I pray for those filled with anger and are not aware of it, open them up Lord to what ails them, Your love is the best food.  Prayers for a friend overcoming Covid, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Isaiah - Our History (I prayed with the introduction)

"The vision which Isaiah, son of Amoz, saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah."  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:1‬

Isaiah - Our History.  Isaiah, one of the greatest prophets gives details of his life and that of God's people.  Isaiah was called to be a prophet, to be a voice from the death of Uzziah in 742 B.C. to the death of Hezekiah in 687 B.C.  In understanding our past, we can understand our future.  Jesus quotes Isaiah eight times in the New Testament and was intimately involved in his life.  Our salvation story repeats itself over and over again in history and in our own journeys.  God continues to show us that as long as we have breath in our lungs there is always hope, hope for a better tomorrow.  This is where God is leading me next, is into Isaiah as He teaches the past, we will see the future.

What is God saying to me: follow My lead.

Dear Father, You know I Am not much of a historian buff or a detail person but always open to learning.  I look forward to the lesson each morning in Your presence.  Help me understand the message each day, see the parallels in today's times and go away filled with hope for a brighter future.  Prayers for friends dealing with troubles, disappointments and set backs, our journey Lord is never a smooth road but You are always by our side.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 150 - Give Praise

"Let everything that has breath give praise to the LORD! Hallelujah!"  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭150:6‬

Psalms 150 - Give Praise.  A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.  One hundred and fifty days ago we began to read the Psalms and listen to God.  Along the way God had many messages for us, each of them different but always leading us to Him.  We are meant to give Him Praise, when we are we are at peace, we are in Union with our Triune God, we are listening and doing His will.  There is joy in praising the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  As we learn to praise Him here in the mighty dome of Heaven we are better prepared for eternity.  Well done to those who have followed along, you have read the book of Psalms and are being satisfied, sing Praise.

What is God saying to me:  there is more to do, a little history lesson is in order next.

Dear Lord, I Am at peace in the stillness and listening to You.  I see You at work in the hearts of the faithful as You teach us to better serve You.  Thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit, may we be super sensitive to Your promptings and always ready to give reason for our joy.  Prayers for a friend filled with Your grace, help them see that all is well no matter the circumstances.  Bless this day Father, lets go singing of Your glory, Amen.

Psalms 149 - The King of kings and Lord of lords.

"Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let Israel be glad in its maker, the people of Zion rejoice in their king."  Psalms‬ ‭149:1-2‬

Psalms 149 - The King of kings and Lord of lords.  Do you listen to God?  There is a special grace given to us when we sit and listen, the love that He has for us is poured into us and new wine is always poured into a new wine skin.  Our song is always new, we eagerly go and be with the Father not just on Sunday but every day of our lives.  "So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come."  ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬.

It is Sunday and the day we set aside to praise God in the assembly of Saints.  I wonder about those that do not come, has it become old to them, is life that busy that there is no time, is the wine skin old and can not accept new wine without bursting.  Jesus is coming back, will you be prepared for His return, will your song be new or will you be in need of oil for your lamp.  He seeks us out,  so examine your motivations and sit and listen with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  He will gently remind you of the Love He has for you and place the Bread of Life within.

What is God saying to me: Sing My praises and receive the gifts of My grace.

Dear Lord, You paint many images in my thoughts this morning reminding me of the kings that seek to distract us from Your love.  You are constant God, always ready to receive us and pour Your love within when we sit and listen.  I thank You for this day and the blessings it will give, there will be a lot to sing about.  Prayers for friends that are too busy to listen and enter the assembly of Saints, may they hear Your voice.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Psalms 148 - Sing Praise

"Praise the LORD from the earth, you sea monsters and all the deeps of the sea;

Young men and women too, old and young alike. Let them all praise the LORD's name, for his name alone is exalted, His majesty above earth and heaven."  ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭148:7, 12-13‬

Psalms 148 - Sing Praise.  What can we learn from all of God's creations?  They are all doing exactly what they were created to do, their actions praise our creator.  So what about us with our disordered ways?  Can we become like the creatures of the deep and do as they were created to do?  Yes!  In Jesus's words: "A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly."  ‭‭John‬ ‭10:10‬  Jesus sang praise in all that He did, He was tempted and He praised the Father by denying the thief.  All of His actions praised the Father and He is our example.  Praise happens every moment of our life's: when we are engaged with our Father, we are conscious of our actions, we emulate His Son Jesus and praise Him.  Praise isn't only at Mass on Sunday.

What is God saying to me:  Trust in my will even if the senses are not there, you will know.

Dear Lord God, there is such joy to come before You each morning, I Am Yours and want to do Your will.  Help me with my singing today, may all of it sing praise to You.  Prayers for friends dealing with Covid, give them peace as they pass thru this, You know best Father.  Lead me Lord upon the right path, I trust in You, Amen.
