Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.
1236 The proclamation of the Word of God enlightens the candidates and the assembly with the revealed truth and elicits the response of faith, which is inseparable from Baptism. Indeed Baptism is "the sacrament of faith" in a particular way, since it is the sacramental entry into the life of faith.
Faith. It begins with Baptism but let's not forget it is only the beginning of our faith life. Are you alive in Christ? I look back on my own life and though I entered into the life of faith, it lay dormant for many years. Every once in awhile getting a spark but not really engaging. It wasn't until I gave God time in my life, time to sit and visit, time to listen, this engaged the senses and brings God to life within.
"You, son of man", the first words in todays first reading. Ezekiel has been given a gift, the gift of God and he is to give Him away. To awake another to the glory of God and help them awaken to the reality of living life with God or to chose to continue down a dead end road, one that leads to destruction. He speaks to the son of man to engage God in their lives, to see the possibilities with God and to see the reality without God which they are living. Our lives here on earth are but a moment do not waste it asleep at the wheel, give God the gift of time and come alive.
Dear Father, You continue to illuminate the son of man within my thinking. This is a reality for all of us to see Your glory and to speak of the gift of life, life with You. Thank You Father for time spent as family, to enjoy the simple pleasures of each others company making memories. Prayers for the son of man to come awake and be the man that he was called to be. Prayers for much needed rain and prayers for those suffering deadly realities. Love Your son.
