Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.
1233 Today in all the rites, Latin and Eastern, the Christian initiation of adults begins with their entry into the catechumenate and reaches its culmination in a single celebration of the three sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist.37 In the Eastern rites the Christian initiation of infants also begins with Baptism followed immediately by Confirmation and the Eucharist, while in the Roman rite it is followed by years of catechesis before being completed later by Confirmation and the Eucharist, the summit of their Christian initiation.38
New life. Do we avail ourselves to Christ? Within the Sacraments is the power of God. It is Him at work with us being pliable clay. An infant has no presupposed ideas, they are completely open and willing to receive. An adult must decide for themselves how to respond to the gift of new life in the sacraments. "but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."" Matthew 19:14. Watch a child live in these sacraments, their faith is wholehearted.

In todays Gospel reading, Jesus pours Himself out, giving what He has been given. The apostles are listening and willing to learn. "Put out into deep water", is Jesus's instruction to them and they obey. We must go beyond ourselves and follow the voice of God. Just as children listen and follow so must we with their child like faith. Are you listening to God in your life, within your day. As we follow His voice the outcome is His. "Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men."" Luke 5:10b
Dear Lord God, You are painting Your canvas, I see the joy and the nets lowered. I thank You Father for the gift of new life, for the excitement and opportunity around each corner. Thank You Lord for an open spirit, may we be willing to listen and obey to what awaits. Prayers for rain Father, prayers for hearts to listen to the dryness when we are distant or non-engaged with God. Love Your son. P.S. Father, thank You for our priests, they are faithful men.
Mary, Queen of Peace, Pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4b
