Daily Thoughts - Make God Known.
1230 This initiation has varied greatly through the centuries according to circumstances. In the first centuries of the Church, Christian initiation saw considerable development. A long period of catechumenate included a series of preparatory rites, which were liturgical landmarks along the path of catechumenal preparation and culminated in the celebration of the sacraments of Christian initiation.
To whom much is given, much is expected. The gift of life within the early church wasn't a given, it required evidenced and determination for one to enter. There are gifts revealed as we study our faith and understand what comes with this new found life. Your life becomes the evidence as you work at it, this is true of any endeavor we take seriously.

In todays Gospel reading, each was given according to his ability. There is a trust given by the Master that one will do what is right with the talent/talents given. Burying our talents and withdrawing out of fear does not produce new life, it causes us to shrink and to become less then. God entrusts each of us with ability and the Master will ask what we did with the gift of life given at our Baptism, did we multiply this gift or did we bury it. To whom much is given, much is expected, the joy is in knowing that we are only the workers, He is the grower.
Dear Father, there is much joy and love in witnessing You at work in the stillness. I thank You for the encouragement to reach out and help another in need. Bless our efforts Father and grow Your Kingdom through the work of our hands. Prayers for those that seem to be in impossible situations, nothing is impossible for God for we, His faithful, are made in His image and likeness. Bless this day Father and all it will produce. Love Your son.
