Daily Thoughts 12-31-2017 Luke 2:39-40

"When they had fulfilled all the prescriptions of the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:39-40‬

Do we stop and think about the example we set for our children?  Mary and Joesph set the perfect example of what a family is to do.   It wasn't easy to fulfill the law in their days, no cars to ride in comfort.  Yet they passed along what they had been taught by their families.   This is what we are to do and in doing so your children will be filled with wisdom, they will live in the favor of God.  The world strives to separate us from God through various things, pray for families and their children that they each know the favor of God and they each look at the example they pass along to the next generation.

Dear Heavenly Father, I ask for prayers for the family, for parents to lead by example, for patients as children learn their way in the world.  I ask for Your protection over families Lord, guide them through the perils of life as You did with the family of Jesus.  Help me teach with love as You love each of us each day.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Jesus, Mary and Joesph, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-30-2017 Luke 2:37b-38

"She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer. And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem." Luke‬ ‭2:37b-38‬ ‭

We have to remove ourselves from the world and live with Jesus all the time.  Not easy but this is what God asks of us, even in our daily lives to be always in His presence.  "For all that is in the world, sensual lust, enticement for the eyes, and a pretentious life, is not from the Father but is from the world. Yet the world and its enticement are passing away. But whoever does the will of God remains forever." 1 John‬ ‭2:16-17‬. Anna that spoke about the child Jesus found her peace in the temple, we do not have that luxury but we must still find that peace that Anna did and live it 24/7.   This is only found in Jesus and doing the will of God.   Think!  What things in your life are removing you from the temple of God.  It will be a new year soon, we get to start over, make a commitment to God and ask and/or beg Him to help.  This next year is going to be special for you.  Fasting and prayer will be important to your commitment, keep that in mind.

Dear Heavenly Father, I know there are things that I need to change, I ask for Your help and guidance in making those changes.  I want to live in Your temple 24/7, You know the results of that but I trust in You for the strength and conviction to help me.  Bless this coming year with answered prayers, help us see so we can each grow Your Kingdom and bring the child Jesus to others.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Prayers today for a Sandy who struggles to breath, for Belinda who is recovering from a stroke and for a young lady who has a severe learning disability, may God richly bless them with a miraculous recovery.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of Hope, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-29-2017 1 John 2:4-5

"Whoever says, "I know him," but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps his word, the love of God is truly perfected in him. This is the way we may know that we are in union with him:" 1 John‬ ‭2:4-5‬

It is that time of year that I reflect upon, where I have been, where I am at and where I would like to go in the future.   Looking back, I can see God perfecting His love within.  In the here and now, I see how much more needs to change and in the future there is that hope for me in allowing His love to be perfected.   When we walk with God each day, there is a conscious effort to walk with Him, we work at avoiding sin, we look out for others, we strive to be better.  There was a time, liar, would have been a true statement and I didn't even know it.  Still a long way from perfection but hopefully like Simeon in today's Gospel reading, we will all be perfected to the point we are ready to go home.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of salvation and the gift of hope.  Help me demonstrate these gifts in my daily actions.  I do not want to be the liar that John speaks of and I trust in You to perfect this sinner each and every day You give me.  Thank You God for the love You are showing, You amaze me each day we walk together, may I never fall out of union with You, in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-28-2017 Matthew 2:18

"A voice was heard in Ramah, sobbing and loud lamentation; Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be consoled, since they were no more." Matthew‬ ‭2:18‬

Today we celebrate the feast of the Holy Innocent, those male boys that King Herod was threatened by, he had them slaughtered.  What about our own lives, how many times are we threatened and our goal is to attack the other, to remove them from our lives.  Reflect upon your own life and see how your actions are removing Christ from the equation.  It isn't just the unborn who are being attacked, sometimes it is those closest to us and we don't even know it.   "And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world." ‭‭John‬ ‭12:47‬

Dear Heavenly Father, I look to You this morning for guidance and insight into my own life.  What am I doing that is impacting the spirit of another, remove these things from me.  Help me see as You see and live as You live and do as You do.  Make this coming year different as I walk with You.  Open doors that allows You in so You can go to work and bring about Your Kingdom within the hearts of men.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of Christ, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-27-2017 1 John 1:1-2

"What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands concerns the Word of life— for the life was made visible; we have seen it and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was made visible to us—" ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:1-2‬

Do you see the transformation of John the fisherman to John the disciple and Apostle of Jesus.  John lived his life walking and learning from God and over time he sees the mystery of faith.  He broke bread with Jesus, they laughed and hung out together.  Through this relationship God reveals Himself to John in such a way to help us see God from the beginning of creation.  God did not have to step into time but He does, in hopes that you will see the light, in hopes that you will be transformed into a new creation as the Apostle John was.

Come Holy Spirit and transform us into living, acting, dedicated disciples filled with Your Spirit.  Live within me and create a place for You to reside with me all the time.  Open Your word and reveal its truth to me so I too may be like Saint John and speak with conviction and zeal to help others see the Living Christ.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Gate of Heaven, pray for us.

Saint John, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-26-2017 Psalms 31:6 Merry Christmas

"Into your hands I commend my spirit; you will redeem me, LORD, God of truth." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭31:6‬

Did Jesus come into this world so we could live in the lap of luxury?  Some would have you think that is what it is about.  Yesterday we celebrated the birth of Jesus, today we celebrate the feast of St Stephen, the first martyr.  Two very contrasting realities, the innocence of a child and martyrdom.  "You will be hated by all because of my name," Luke‬ ‭21:17‬.  I think God is telling us to not get too comfortable.  When we entrust our lives into the hands of God, everything will be ok, even in the unknown.  It will not be easy but you will be well looked after.  "but not a hair on your head will be destroyed." Luke‬ ‭21:18‬

Dear Lord God, may we witness to Your saving grace as St. Stephen did.  May I entrust my life into Your hands and willingly accept what comes my way.  Help me contemplate the path forward Lord, show me to go either right or left.  Bless this day Lord with a renewed vigor to spread Your Word.  I ask this in the name of Jesus.

Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.

Saint Stephen, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-25-2017 Isaiah 62:1 Merry Christmas 🎄

"For Zion's sake I will not be silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not keep still, Until her vindication shines forth like the dawn and her salvation like a burning torch." Isaiah‬ ‭62:1‬

It is quiet as a mouse this morning, wasn't that long ago the kids were chomping at the bit to get to the tree.  Christmas is celebrated around the world, I wonder how many really know the history of Christmas?  How many know the true meaning of the season.  God sent His Son into time so we could live Christmas morning for ever.  As a believer and Christian, we are each to carry the Christmas message into the world each day.  Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to Jesus.

A Christmas gift for you and your loved ones.  Merry Christmas to you and your families.  https://youtu.be/s6bJWpwkYfE

Dear Father God, Thank You for loving me that much!

Daily Thoughts 12-24-2017 Luke 31-32

"Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father," Luke‬ ‭1:31-32‬

Family heritage gets passed on each time we get together.  We share good times and some bad times, creating memories that get passed on to the next generation.  Is Jesus part of that heritage?  Is he part of those family memories.   Is He great one or two days a year or is is He great all year long.   In unseen ways we help build the kingdom of God.  Jesus is a brother, a confident, a friend, God, my savior.  The one thing He isn't is a distant cousin, bring hope into your life and live the Christmass feeling all year long.

Dear Baby Jesus, You cane into this world to change hearts, to get involved in our lives and help us be the best we can possibly be.  Help us see the hope and joy of living with You in our hearts all year long.  Send Your Holy Spirit to bless us with the grace to live for You.  Remove those things that cause You, Baby Jesus, pain, in our lives.  Help us see ways to reunite families and not divide those that we grew up with.  Come live in me in a new way this coming year Lord, so I can be better prepared for You.  I ask this in Jesus Name, Amen.

Mary, Thank You for saying "YES" to our Lord so we may live in your covenant family forever.

Mary, Virgin Most Pure, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-23-2017 Luke 1:64

"Immediately his mouth was opened, his tongue freed, and he spoke blessing God." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:64‬

Why was Zechariah's unable to speak while waiting on his child?  I believe he was given time to contemplate what was going on around him.  When we speak, we aren't listening, we aren't observing what is going on.  Being quiet and paying attention opens up a new world, that is right in front of you.   Zechariah learned a lot during those nine months, he was able to see the scripture come alive around him.  When he did speak, it was nothing but joy because he knew who was coming.  He knew what his son would be doing, preparing the way.  Quiet contemplation allows you to see, be quiet, listen and see God, preparing the way.   He is coming!

Dear Heavenly Father, there is so much fluff around us we are blinded to the truth.   Help us be quiet and sit still.  Open us up to a new view so we can see You, so we can help prepare the way.   Show me what I am not doing that I need to be doing.  May I be thankful for what I am given and may I share Your blessings with others.   Bring peace to all Your children Lord, may we all see what Your faithful servant Zechariah seen and speak only blessings.  Triune God be my all.  Triune God be my all. Triune God be my all.

Mary, Virgin Most Pure, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-22-2017

"The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever."" Luke‬ ‭1:53-55‬

No God, no peace
Know God, Know Peace!

We live in a world that doesn't believe in God's promises nor in the life of His Son.  Each day is a fight if God isn't in it, for you are playing by the devils rules and don't even know it.  Where God is there is peace, where He isn't there is turmoil.  Mary's canticle is true today as it was 2000 years ago.  The hungry are filled with good things for even if they don't get what they want they are trusting in the source - God, they know peace.   Those that have and want more are trusting in a different source - not God, no peace.  Even when they get what they want, they are still empty.  You are given free will to make your own choices in life, look at your life, is there peace in your decisions?  If there isn't look at the manger this Christmas and start walking and living for Him.  You will be filled with riches that will beyond belief and there is PEACE.  Think!

God, You know what is in my heart this morning and how it hurts for those that are walking in darkness, I pray they see the light.  Fill them with abundant joy, give them peace, give them hope and give them understanding.  Lord, I praise You today for taken off the blinders on my eyes, the world and journey is amazing.  I am thankful I finally got to a point in life i was hungry that allowed You to enter, make us hungry for You so Your Son may rein in our hearts and we all know the peace that surpasses all understanding.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-21-2017 Songs 2:8

"Hark! my lover–here he comes springing across the mountains, leaping across the hills."  Songs 2:8

This was one of the readings at my sons and new daughter's wedding.  Brings back some good memories and reveals new meaning this morning.  Love for Christ opens up the Bible to share its truth with us.  Here comes Jesus to bring us joy and anticipation, hope and new life.  Do you remember the feeling of waiting for the big day, the newness of a new beginning, this is an everyday reality when Jesus is at the center of your heart.  He is the Groom, you are the bride, let Him lead and enjoy the adventure.  Don't forget to work at it, like any great marriage, you have to COMMUNICATE, both listening and speaking.  Listening is the key to all great relationships.

Dear Heavenly Father, I love the meaning of today's reading, didn't get that several years ago.  You always use past experiences to give new meaning in the future.  May I listen more to You today, may I make decisions wisely after consulting and listening to You.  I pray for those in need this morning, may they listen and hear You speaking.  Thank You God for another new day, looking forward to the adventure.  Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-20-2017 Luke 1:28

"And coming to her, he said, "Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you."" ‭Luke‬ ‭1:28

The angel Gabriel praised Mary with his greeting, giving her the respect his Heavenly Father does.  As we read about the life of Mary, things always fell into place.  "The Lord is with you" and the more important part of this is Mary was with God and is with God.   In our own lives when we are with God, we are given the grace to overcomeany obstacle.   Was Mary not pregnant in a country that stones you to death for not being married, your challenges are nothing like that.  Mary shows us how to live, by always placing God first in our lives and by pointing the way to Jesus.  I hope to hear those words the Lord is with you but like some of you, I don't always get it right.

Dear Triune God, You pave the way for our salvation may we pay attention to those that have gone before us who found favor with you and imitate them in our daily lives.  Give us the grace and wisdom to use it to overcome the challenges of this day.  Thank You for sending Your Son so I can live with You forever.  Help us respond to the Holy Spirits promptings so You can make a difference in someone's life today.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-19-2017 Judges 13:3

"An angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her: Though you are barren and have had no children, you will conceive and bear a son." ‭‭Judges‬ ‭13:3‬

An angel of the Lord appeared before Abraham, the wife of Manoah, Zachariah, Mary.  The angel always gives instructions on what to do next.  This is God giving direction, I wonder if there is a story of an angel appearing and the person didn't follow the direction, happens every day.

God speaks to each of us differently, some require an angel.  When we listen to God's direction our lives are complete for we are doing the will of God.  He prepares You for what He asked of you, so like the biblical stories, if you are afraid, in the words of a friend do it afraid.  Prepare ye the way of the Lord.

Dear Heavenly Father, speak to us in ways that we heed and follow.  Thank You for answering prayer this morning, I know Your will is being done.  Help us learn to do the things that make us uncomfortable.  Thank You for the encouragement in my life and thank You for the angels that surround me.  You are the King of kings and Lord of lords, make Your presence known in our lives.  Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-18-2018 Matthew 1:18a

"This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about."  Matthew 1:18a

This is your story?  Watch this video and reflect upon your own journey with Christ.
https://youtu.be/t-dGh5E_AQw. We are all at some stage of the birth story.  Maybe we are filled with anticipation of the coming Christ, maybe, we haven't accepted His Holy Family yet, maybe we haven't made room for Him in our life and hopefully, we are full of joy with the Risen Lord.  No matter the stage you are on, what one seeks for, He finds.  May you live the birth story all the days of your life and may Christ fill you with an everlasting peace.

Dear Father God, help us see our lives in the nativity story, in those areas where we reject Your love, show us how to make room for Jesus.  Give us excitement of the coming Lord, fill us with hope and anticipation.  Bless us with perseverance to continue the daily fight.  Let Your Light shine thru the darkness and overcome any of our afflictions.  In The name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Mary, Gate of Heaven, pray for us.

This is your mission in life.

Daily Thoughts 12-17-2017 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16-18‬

"For I am the LORD, your God, who grasp your right hand; It is I who say to you, Do not fear, I will help you." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:13‬.  Can you give thanks to God for all things?  He never leaves you nor forsakes you, even in what appears to be troubles He Is right there with you.  Jesus suffered much in His trials but he never stopped thanking His Father and He never stopped praying.  "giving thanks always and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father." ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:20‬.  Turn the suffering into rejoicing and see the world in a new light.

Dear Lord God, I thank You for the abundant blessings in all things.  I give you this day as my prayer, may I praise You today and give You my everything.  Thank You for family and hope in the morning.  Amen.

Daily Thoughts 12-15-2017 Matthew 11:19

"The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said, 'Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is vindicated by her works."" ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:19‬

We all look for miracles in our lives but nothing happens until we roll up our sleeves and get dirty.  Jesus didn't save the drunkards and tax collectors from a distance, He did it sitting along side them.  The same with the miracles you are hoping for in your life, you have to make it happen.  Listen to the Holy Spirit and then act upon it.

Dear Heavenly Father, it is You who make good things happen in our lives if we but heed Your voice.  Instill a faith within me to act upon Your word.  May I overcome the objections with actions, help me trust my path to you with actions that pleases you.  I place my hope and trust in You and Your Covenant Family.   The results are Yours not mine.  To Jesus be the glory, Amen!

Mary, Queen of Heaven, be our protector.

Daily Thoughts 12-14-2017 Isaiah 45:8

"Let justice descend, you heavens, like dew from above, like gentle rain let the clouds drop it down. Let the earth open and salvation bud forth; let righteousness spring up with them! I, the LORD, have created this." Isaiah‬ ‭45:8‬

Prepare ye the way for the Lord.  We live such busy lives that we find it hard to slow down and witness God in and around us.  We can get caught up in the hustle and bustle and before you know it, another advent season has past us by.  How is God to flourish in our lives if we don't give him time. How are we to grow if we don't focus on Him.  Slow down a bit and savor our Savior who is on the way.

Dear Heavenly Father, this truly is a parched land that can't see the forest for the trees.  Help us prepare a place for you in our hearts, may we bud new live into our spiritual journey.  May I make room for You, and may I see Your glorious coming this Advent season.  Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all.

Mary, Queen of Salvation, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-13-2017 Isaiah 40:25

"To whom can you liken me as an equal? says the Holy One." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:25‬

It is amazing to watch the Holy Spirit at work, I find myself reflecting upon different things this morning and how God has painted the picture and is painting the picture.  I am glad I do not have to worry about all the things going on, I just have to trust and be obedient.  God has it all under control, a little scary at times, but that is us trying to figure it out.  He has got you, stop worrying and trust Him.  It is really that simple!  "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;"
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬

Dear Lord God, You are the Michaelangelo in my life, the Great Painter.  Keep the brush out of my hand.  You are greater than anything going on in my world, I thank You for loving me, a sinner.  Help me be patient and help me prepare for Your arrival this Christmas season.  May I observe You in action and feel peace in my day.  I praise You Lord God with my response, may it come naturally.  Amen.

Mary, Queen Mother, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-12-2017 Judith 13:18

"Then Uzziah said to her, "Blessed are you, daughter, by the Most High God, above all the women on earth; and blessed be the Lord God, the creator of heaven and earth, who guided your blow at the head of the leader of our enemies." Judith‬ ‭13:18‬

Who is this Old Testament scripture talking about?  It is none other than Mary, the mother of Jesus.   "For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed." Luke‬ ‭1:48‬ ‭ "And the angel said to her in reply, "The holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God." Luke‬ ‭1:35‬. "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel." Genesis‬ ‭3:15‬.

God's Covenant Family has a mother that we are to call blessed.  As in any mother, they seek to protect their children and only want the best for them.  The part I like best is mom's intervention, many a time I would be in trouble and my mother would know how to present it to Dad that would lessen the punishment.  As you look around you, the devil is attacking the family at every step.  He seeks to divide, think about it, how is he dividing those relationship in your life that are to glorify God?   Pray for the family and help Mary, through her Son Jesus, put an end to the devils evil plots.

Dear Heavenly Father, You gave us Mary as the mother of Your Son, and our own mother, may we all call her blessed.  May we each help her fight the devil, You will guide our blows that defeat him.  May we each pick up our spiritual swords and strike at his head.  Help each of us see the spiritual warfare going on within our own lives and protect our own families from the forces of evil.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-11-2017 Isaiah 35:2

"Like the crocus it shall bloom abundantly, and rejoice with joyful song. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; They will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭35:2‬

How is your devotion, are you preparing the way for the Lord this advent season?  We have to slow down and venerate God and His Word.  How do we expect to see the beauty of what He is doing if we are caught up in the hustle and bustle.  How are we to bloom if we are not bathing in His Sonlight?  Slow down and pay attention, honor God by giving of your most precious commodity, your time.  When you do, you will see the glory of God, Your devotion to Him will grow, you will rejoice with song.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gifts You provide in the simple things.  I thank You for Your people who are dedicated to You.  I thank You for Your blessings in everyday life.  Help me see Your beauty today Lord, increase in me a willing spirit to honor You with actions and with my time.  May I prepare the way for Your coming this advent season in someone's life.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 12-9-2017 Isaiah 30:20-21

"The Lord will give you bread in adversity and water in affliction. No longer will your Teacher hide himself, but with your own eyes you shall see your Teacher, And your ears shall hear a word behind you: "This is the way; walk in it," when you would turn to the right or the left." Isaiah‬ ‭30:20-21‬

When we are in trouble, where do we turn?  God.  How many times must we get into trouble before we figure out we are to listen to Him and follow His direction.   God always provides even in our troubles.  What He really wants is for us to honor our side of the covenant relationship.  Heed His word and follow His direction.   When we do this the troubles go away for Father knows best.

Dear Heavenly Father, You always provide for my needs, help me heed Your Word and follow Your direction.  I offer this day through Your Mary, she always listened and always followed even when it appeared to bring trouble.  She honored the covenant relationship with faithfulness.   May I follow her example.   Thank You Father for Your loving hand in my life.  Thank You for the words in my ear and Thank You for loving me even to death so I may live.  Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

Let His Word speak to you.

Daily Thoughts 12-8-2017 Genesis 3:12

"The man replied, "The woman whom you put here with me—she gave me fruit from the tree, so I ate it." Genesis‬ ‭3:12‬

Mary is the new Eve!  Mary gave us fruit from the tree as well.  It was Mary's yes that enables our Heavenly Father to send His Son to redeem us by the blood of the cross.  We are born with original sin, we play no role in this, we did not make this decision for ourselves but we do play a role in Mary's redemptive nature, we make the decision.  Do we eat of the fruit that she provides?   Have you accepted Christ into your life?  What about His Mother?  She cared for and raised Jesus from the time of His birth.

Eve was created without sin, it had not entered into humanity. The Son of God could not have been born in an unclean Vessel.  God provided a way for this to happen, through the immaculate conception of Mary. Mary was born without original sin just like Eve.  Mary, perfected the role that Eve was to play.  Through her free will, she obeyed all the laws of God.  She gives you the fruit of eternal life, her Son Jesus.

Dear Heavenly Father, Yes!  I willingly eat of the tree of Life that Your Son Jesus provides for me.  My heart is ready O God, my heart is ready.  Breath life into this weary bones so I may be a part of Mary's yes.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Ark of the Covenant, pray for us.

A gift from our Mother Mary!  Listen to the words and contemplate your journey.

Come Holy Spirit, living in Mary.  I, ___________________________  , a repentant sinner, renew and ratify today in your hands,
O, Immaculate Mother, the vows of my Baptism. I renounce Satan and resolve to follow Jesus Christ even more closely than before.  Mary, I give you my heart. Please set it on fire with love for Jesus. Make it always attentive to his burning thirst for love and for souls. Keep my heart in your most pure Heart that I may love Jesus and the members of his Body with your own perfect love.

Mary, I entrust myself totally to you: my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions. Please make of me, of all that I am and have, whatever most pleases you. Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for bringing the greatest possible glory to God. If I fall, please lead me back to Jesus. Wash me in the blood and water that flow from his pierced side, and help me never to lose my trust in this fountain of love and mercy.  With you, O Immaculate Mother - you who always do the will of God - I unite myself to the perfect consecration of Jesus as he offers himself in the Spirit to the Father for the life of the world. Amen.

Consecration day reflection, Mama Mary guides us if we allow her into our lives as her Son Jesus did.

See you tonight, 5:30 at High Hill Texas.

Daily Thoughts 12-7-2017 Isaiah 26:1-2

"On that day this song shall be sung in the land of Judah: "A strong city have we; he sets up victory as our walls and ramparts. Open up the gates that a righteous nation may enter, one that keeps faith." ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:1-2‬

Heart, God is calling us to have His heart.  You can have all the head knowledge and still not have what one really needs.  Think of a championship team, they all have one thing in common.  They have heart, they face whatever adversity that came their way and still overcame, this is heart.  What builds a strong city, heart.  If your heart is in the fight then you are in the fight.  Otherwise the winds will blow and the storms will come and you will be knocked down. Look at the heart of Jesus, It is His heart that His Mother Mary desires for each of us.

Prayer from morning liturgies of the hours
Lord God, you made Saint Ambrose
a teacher of the Catholic faith
and a pattern of apostolic fortitude.
Raise up in the church today
men after your own heart
to lead your people with wisdom and strength.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.  Amen

Mary, Heart of Jesus, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-6-2017 Matthew 15:33

"The disciples said to him, "Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place to satisfy such a crowd?" Matthew‬ ‭15:33‬

What about the world we live in today, where could we ever get enough bread to satisfy them.  If only we looked for deeper meaning within God's Word.  "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:4‬.  The world we live is the shadow of death if we have not found Jesus.  It is He who gives us strength, He is the bread of life that we are to feed upon.

"insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel." Matthew‬ ‭15:31‬. Once we have found Him and recognize what He has done, we are transformed into the Body and Blood of Jesus.  We become living examples of His saving grace and proclaim the gospel with our lives.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for this day, for the opportunity to be still and enjoy Your beauty that surrounds me.  Feed me Father, You are the bread that I want to feed upon.  I will fear no evil, for You are with me.  Overcome what ever challenges us and increase so I decrease.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-5-2017 Isaiah 11:3

"and his delight shall be the fear of the LORD. Not by appearance shall he judge, nor by hearsay shall he decide," ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭11:3‬

You ever jump to conclusions about what you see or what you hear from someone else?  I am guilty of this, of passing judgements upon others based upon my perceived perceptions or others misinformation.  God doesn't do this, He goes straight to the core and sees a child, His creation.  How did Mother Teresa respond to others?  She did it with Love and compassion, her delight was the fear of the Lord.  She concentrated upon herself and her relationship with God.  Her response was her delight for she followed the will of the Father.

Dear Lord God, please forgive me for my transgressions this day.   Help me live the life that You call me to.  May Your Holy Spirit guide me ever closer to you and may the Immaculate Heart of Mary triumph in my life.   Amen.

Mary, Heart of Jesus, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-4-2017 Isaiah 2:3

"Many peoples shall come and say: "Come, let us go up to the LORD's mountain, to the house of the God of Jacob, That he may instruct us in his ways, and we may walk in his paths." For from Zion shall go forth instruction, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem." Isaiah‬ ‭2:3‬

I remember a vacation a few years back and we climbed a mountain.  Looked easy from the bottom, didn't look that far.  The road was windy and had all kinds of turns.  It was steep at times, flat, gentle and some real difficulty areas to traverse.  There were times I wanted to turn back, there were times I was down right scared, but I knew the view from the top would be incredible.   As I climbed it was God who encouraged me to continue.  When we are not striving for anything and not talking to God each day we will not see the heights He will take us too.  I encourage you to develop a daily conversation with God and then trust him.  Allow Him to instruct you on your climb up the mountain.  He reminded me this morning that His timing is always perfect and His ways are not our ways.

Dear Heavenly Father, Your Son Jesus traveled this road we are on.  You always provided for His needs and drew Him to do Your will.  He taught us how to pray in the Our Father, May we be faithful to these words.  "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven".  You teach God when we turn to You and trust.  Help me see what You see and continue to encourage me to climb Your mountain.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 12-3-2017 1 Corinthians 1:9

"God is faithful, and by him you were called to fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord." ‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:9‬

What an amazing gift, to be called into fellowship with Jesus Christ.  God called YOU!  We accepted His gift in our baptism, maybe someone said 'yes' for us but none the less, we were received into His Holy Family.  Think about that for a minute not only are we given the keys to heaven but we are given help, there is nothing like a mother's love.  Now comes passion, this only comes from us, our response.  How have you responded to His gift?  We live in a world that doesn't believe in Christ because we don't live it with passion.  When we do, it sets those around us on fire.  Increase your passion, ask our faithful God to give you more of it.  Be who God made you to be!   Live the gift He gave you, be the vine, be heard, live it!

Dear Father God, You are faithful and You always pour out Your blessings upon us.  Set us on fire for You.  Give us the help that we need to preach the Gospels and live the Gospels.  Encourage us to get involved, to stand up for You, to be engaged in our faith. May Your flesh and blood pour through my veins and may I be a pleasing offering for You today.  Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all.

Mary, Mother of Divine Mercy, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 12-2-2017 Luke 21:34

""Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise" ‭Luke‬ ‭21:34

How is your daily devotion?  God seeks men's hearts, it is in our daily devotions where we train ourselves to not fall victim to the devil.  Morning prayers, daily reading of God's word, being a part of a faith community.  These are the things that strengthen each of us to continue and persevere.  Even in Jesus's trials, He continued to be faithful to His daily devotion.    Those days your heart isn't in it, do it anyway.  This is God testing what and who you truly love.  If we only understood how much Jesus loves us and how much He suffered for us we would not grow weary.  Be vigilant to your prayer life, keep going.

Dear Lord God, Your Son, Jesus, was brought up in Your Holy Family.  They taught by example how to live a holy life.  May our Mother Mary, teach us to be faithful to our daily prayer life and lead by example.   May You reach our hearts to live a devoted life to You.  I thank You for shedding blood for my life, may I not forget the pain that You endured for me.  May I live this bible verse daily: "O Israel, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever." Daniel‬ ‭3:83‬. Amen.

Daily Thoughts 12-1-2017 Luke 21:28

"But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand." ‭Luke‬ ‭21:28‬

Stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at hand.  Are we each not one day closer to our redemption?  There have been signs since the Risen Lord, look back through history and each generation believes this was the last generation.  Must we wait and see signs to stand erect and profess our faith.  Jesus is returning but will He find you waiting on Him or will He find you in the fields working?  Faith is passed from one to another.  Your faith makes me stronger.  Each of us makes up the body of Christ so we each must do our part if God's will is to be done.  You don't like how things are going then do something.  You thing kids aren't respectful enough then do something.   Look with the eyes of God and then go do something.  YOUR redemption is at hand.

Dear Heavenly Father, increase in me what pleases You, decrease in me what causes You pain.  May I see what role I play in the body of Christ and then go do it with head held high.  Complete in me Your redemption plan and call others to pick up the sickle and go into the fields.  Help each of us realize we play a special part within the Body of Christ.  I entrust my care to Your Mother as she also prepared you for Your redemption day. Amen.

Mary, Queen of Victories, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 11-30-2017 Romans 10:11-12

"For the scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him." Romans‬ ‭10:11-12‬

As I reflect this morning my thoughts go to all the different denominations.  God knows each of their hearts and I know they believe they are doing God's work.  The same Lord is Lord of all.  I wonder are they allowing all of His word to enrich their lives or do they pick and choose based upon their beliefs.  There is so much more than what meets the eyes.

"Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his home." John‬ ‭19:27‬. Jesus gave us His Mother, He didn't just give her to John.  If you are a disciple of Jesus, then Jesus gave you Mary.  Are you following all of God's word or just the ones that don't cause conflict with your beliefs.  Be enriched by the Savior.  Allow Mary to enrich your life as she did her son Jesus.

Dear Father God, I am blessed this morning to ease into the day, I thank You.  Enrich my life with insight into Your Holy Word.  Remove any bias I may have, I call upon You to enrich me.  I ask Mother Mary to enrich my life.  Bless this day Lord, open my ears so I can hear, open my eyes so I can see and open my mouth so I can praise You.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 11-29-2017 Daniel 5:23

"you have rebelled against the Lord of heaven. You had the vessels of his temple brought before you, so that you and your nobles, your consorts and your concubines, might drink wine from them; and you praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, that neither see nor hear nor have intelligence. But the God in whose hand is your very breath and the whole course of your life, you did not glorify." Daniel‬ ‭5:23‬

Look at me, look at what I have done?  Isn't that what the king was saying when he praised his earthly gods.  Pride and arrogance are not of God.  As you travel about how many kings do you know that live in their own world and do not glorify God.  Each day we are given opportunities to give glory to God.  Do we stand up and honor God, who gives us life.  Our mother Mary recognized where her blessings come from and glorifies God.  "And Mary said: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;" Luke‬ ‭1:46‬  Do you proclaim the greatness of God, she engaged Jesus to get started at the wedding feast of Cana, John 2:1-12, May you follow her lead.

Dear Lord God, I love You.  You always know what to say and when.  You always know how to reach hearts that are stubborn and arrogant.  May I be a willing participant in Your salvation plan.  Thank You for each opportunity, may I not miss a one of them.  It is You that gives me life and it is You that I want to magnify.  May we each follow the example Your mother Mary gives us and may we follow her lead.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 11-27-2017 Psalms 21:2-3

"LORD, the king finds joy in your power; in your victory how greatly he rejoices! You have granted him his heart's desire; you did not refuse the request of his lips. Selah" ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭21:2-3‬

Have you ever tried ignoring the Holy Spirit? How about arguing with Him?  It doesn't work, He will not stop pursuing you until you respond.  Maybe we think God isn't talking to us and He really doesn't want you to do what He is asking. Wrong.  Nothing pleases God more than when we are obedient and respond to Him in the affirmative.  So if God is asking you to do something, my suggestion would be to listen and respond.  What ever you think the excuse is, He will overcome that.  Grant God's hearts desire and yours, be obedient, and be amazed.  What would life be like if the Virgin Mary, would of not responded as she did.   Look what He did with a willing and faithful heart.

Because someone said "Yes", you get to listen to this song this morning, may it please you as it did Him and us.
https://youtu.be/Uq8VP9osGrg

Dear Heavenly Father, help us see our joy comes from giving You away, from not hiding our treasure but in sharing it.   You seek to bless us if we would listen to Your call and respond with "Yes".  Lord, it is You I seek to please, You are my hearts desire, You are the Great Prize, May I not cover You up today but share You with joy.  Thank You for the sense of peace and a willing heart today.   Protect each of us and help us realize You will never stop seeking us out, the Shepherds job is not finished until all are within Your care.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

Come Holy Spirit living in Mary..   Help me to be faithful to heart-pondering prayer, as was Mary.

Daily Thoughts 11-27-2017 Luke 21:4

"for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood." ‭‭Luke‬ ‭21:4‬

Black Friday, Cyber Monday, the message we hear this time of year is to consume.  Will that one thing make you any happier, will it bring lasting enjoyment, probably not.  In today's readings it speaks of sacrifice and with holding from one's self.  Happiness isn't found in consumption, it is found in giving of self and self control, to not go beyond ones means.  What gift are you going to give Christ this Christmas season that will get His attention?  Something to ponder this morning.

Dear Lord God, help me ponder what I can do this season that will make a difference in the life of someone else.  Help me not get weighed down with over consumption of stuff or food.  May I offer from my livelihood and not my surplus.  Help me focus on the coming of Jesus and help others see the joy that He brings with Him.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 11-26-2017 Mark 11:9

"Those preceding him as well as those following kept crying out: "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" ‭Mark‬ ‭11:9‬

Have you stopped to think why you were created?  Why are you here at this point in time?  Was it just an accident and there really isn't any purpose?  NO!  God has purpose and reason for everything.  We celebrate Christ the King Sunday today.  We were created to Bless God and have dominion over everything on earth, to give honor to our Father in Heaven.   Our lives have purpose as long as we are honoring God.  Be part of the change, it is happening all around you, Bless God today and sing His praises.  He is King and will return, will He find you doing what He created you for?  It isn't to be the best accountant in the world unless you are honoring God with His gifts and singing His praises.

Dear Lord God, You are the King of my heart, and give you authority and heed Your commands, not always perfectly but with an honest effort.  May we be still today and reflect upon Your creation and enjoy its beauty.  May we tune out the world from trying to interfere with Your plan and may we honor You with the gifts You have given us. I will sing with my life today as best as I know how.  I want to be part of the winds of change that call in Your triumphant return.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.
