A Bible verse to begin or end the day with. Guided by the Holy Spirit, I publish a daily thought to help keep The Triune God in the center of my life and through out the day. I am not a biblical scholar just a normal guy that tries to live a Christ centered life. He will return, we are called to be His eyes, His hands, His feet, His Ears, His Voice and His Body. Jesus, I trust in You! "Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4b

Daily Thoughts 8-30-2017 Matthew 23:30
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23 Do we not deny Christ each time we sin? We each bare responsibility for shedding the prophets blood but remember He did this willingly so we each may have life eternal. Abraham went up the mountain to sacrifice his son on the altar but what did Abraham say? "Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went on together." Genesis 22:8. God asks us to be obedient to His word, He provided His Son, Jesus to take our place. He is our sin offering, we each played a role on Calvary. We are to be obedient to His commandments and pay heed to what He tells us. "Then Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin any more." John 8:11b
Dear Loving God, You gave us Your Son to take our place, may I live a life reflecting His love. Remove those things that prevent me from moving closer to You. Take me as I am Lord and lead me today. When I do fall short may I know I can come to You and seek forgiveness. I ask for Your help today and I thank You for loving me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 8-29-2017 1 Thessalonians 2:8
It takes a storm to draw humanity together, where people no longer see bias in others but see themselves. Our walls come down and we reach out. Saint Paul didn't just preach the gospels, he got in the trenches and gave of himself. We are all asked to do the same, to witness God's mercy in action. May God use us for His purpose and may we each respond.
Dear Lord God, You have blessed us with a beautiful day, may You guide each of this day to do Your will. May Your love grow ever stronger in us and may I spread the gospel message in actions and not words. Guide my thoughts today and my response, it is Your will I seek to do. I ask this in Your Holy Name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 8-28-2017 Matthew 23:22
Events like the past couple of days can make you ask why but we know all things happen for His purpose. The things that we place our hope in can be washed away but God is ever faithful. He is always there standing guard over us, protecting us. It is He who has kept you out of harms way. Maybe you have lost something's but you still have hope, you still have God. Watch what good will come from all this rain. See the good that has already come, people lean on each other during these times, God is ever faithful! "Because you have the LORD for your refuge and have made the Most High your stronghold, No evil shall befall you, no affliction come near your tent. For he commands his angels with regard to you, to guard you wherever you go."
Psalms 91:9-11. Stay safe and dry out there, trust in His goodness.
Dear Heavenly Father, in ever life a little rain shall fall, we have see a lifetime of rain in the past three days. Thank You for always being there, for sending help when the time was right. Thank You for showing us our way forward. It is You whom we can trust, it is You that protects us. Thank You for all those in public service and thank You for another day to do Your will. Amen.

This is the question the Son of the living God will ask each of us. Have you given it some thought? Are you prepared to answer it? We answer each day as we live our lives. Our actions will speak for us. I am glad He is a loving and gracious Father for most days my actions fall short of the love He deserves.
Dear Lord God, You are Christ, You are the living God who seeks a relationship with each of us. May I demonstrate Your presence in my life with actions. I know I fall short all the time please forgive me and please make me stronger. Prepare us for heaven to live with You for eternity. I ask for prayers for those in harms way, I ask for grace be upon those that are taking the direct impact of this storm. Bless this day Lord and do with me as You will. In Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 8-26-2017 Matthew 23:9
We all have an earthly father, God does not forbid us to call them father. Does God not tell us to honor our father and mother.
The apostle Paul tells us: "I am writing you this not to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. Even if you should have countless guides to Christ, yet you do not have many fathers, for I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel." 1 Corinthians 4:14-15. He calls himself a father to those God has placed under his care. But he defers all authority to his Father in Heaven. He is a teacher and an apostle of Christ given the authority to preach the word of God. This wasn't a role he choose himself, Jesus gave him this authority by the power of the Holy Spirit.
There is no duplicity in God or in God's word, so what is Jesus telling us. I believe he is telling us to guard against those who claim the authority to be theirs. To those that place themselves in places of honor and do not defer to God. They have cultic followings and unfortunately there are those that fall victim to their ungodly schemes.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for those that You have called to be preachers of Your word, to those who humble themselves and serve Your children. I am thankful for the priests that speak truth to us and are blessed with Your graces to teach. May we offer up prayers for those ordained to the priesthood, who deny themselves and do the will of God. Thank You for keeping us safe. I ask this in Jesus name, amen.

Daily Thoughts 8-25-2017 Psalms 146:5-6
My routine got changed this morning as I prepared some lose ends around the house before the storm. Then I sat still and prepared myself for the day. We spend a lot of time prepping for a storm putting things away and making sure all is in order. Some move themselves and loved ones out of harms way. How much time is given to the One who has our lives in His hands? How things would be different if we would just sit still and worship God almighty, He who created heaven and earth. The storms of life come and go, yet God is constant thru all of it, place your trust in Him.
Dear Lord God Almighty, I thank You for the constancy of You in my life. You are the rock that I can lean on when the wind and rain comes. It is You who has control of the outcome if I be willing clay in Your hands. I ask for safety, protection and guidance upon all in the way of Harvey. May we realize how powerful You can be in our lives and what a loving God You are. I ask this in Your most holy name, the Triune God, Amen.

As you study these verses you see the revelations of both men, Jesus knew Nathaniel and Nathaniel was earnestly waiting for the messiah. What is the significance of the fig tree? What was Nathaniel doing under the tree? What ever it was it confirmed to Nathaniel that here in front of him was the son of God, the king of Israel. God sees our hearts and hears our prayers never doubt Him and always recognize the Son of God and King of Kings working in your lives. Be true to what He has called you too.
Dear Lord God, Thank You for Your loving embrace this morning, thank you for being there in the silence of the morning. Help us see You in our lives, prepare us to receive the Son of God today. Bless our efforts in all that we do. May we not lose faith even though the results may not SEEM promising. Remove the duplicity in my spirit and walk with me today. Have you hired on or are you standing idle in the marketplace? To whom much is given much is expected. Too many times we think that it isn't our responsibility it is someone else's job. You have been called to preach the Gospel by actions. To share what God has given you, the work isn't hard, the pay never ends and the blessings are out of this world. Go ahead pick up that handle and do the one thing that God asks of you today.
Dear Heavenly Father, You amaze me beyond anything I can imagine. Increase my faith, increase my muscles, increase my desire. You are the Great I AM, may I praise you today in the vineyards. May I listen to Your call and more importantly may I respond. Do not let fear get ahold of me, give me courage and strength to witness to Your glory in my life. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Who or where can you place your hope and know that you will be taken care of? There is only one answer - Jesus Christ. Can't place your hope in money, can't place your hope in government, can't place it in others, at some point they will all let you down and none of it can save you, only Jesus. Some lose their hope, they lose their source of peace, show them Jesus, show them where your hope and peace come from. Jesus, I trust in You!!!
Lord God Almighty, You are my hope and peace in a world that denies you. You are my salvation when I am in need and when I am not. Lord, I pray for those that are lost, may they fine hope, may they find You, may I hear the cry of the poor and give of myself to be Your hands, Your eyes and Your ears. May we walk with You daily and receive the peace and hope You freely give. I ask this in Your holy name, Jesus Christ, the One who saves, Amen.

Does Jesus want us to be perfect or does He want us to sell what we have? No to both, in my opinion. The young man was seeking perfection and the only perfect one is Jesus. He was prideful because of his position in life, Jesus was helping him leave those things behind that was holding him back. As you follow Jesus, He will help you on your journey, He prepares you for eternity. Don't be like the rich young man and count the price too high.
Dear Holy Father, I am blessed to be alive, I am thankful for Your guidance and Your direction on the things that interfere in our relationship. You love us beyond measure and only seeks what is good for us. Open my eyes to the things that gets in my way. I trust in You and You are all I need. Daily Thoughts 8-20-2017 Romans 11:32
In the beginning Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden then sin separated them. We are born with this original sin, we are delivered to this disobedience but thankfully God has mercy upon us and gives us Jesus as our sin offering so we can once again walk with Him. His desire is for us to walk with Him everyday, to call upon him for help and guidance. "The Lord's gift remains with the devout; his favor brings lasting success." Ben Sira 11:17 Jesus is the gift of mercy, He is our salvation, taste and see the goodness of the Lord.
Dear Heavenly Father, sin separates us from your love remove these burdens through confession. Show us the joys of life when we walk together. Your love lasts forever help us see You in our daily journey, help us become what You created us for. ThankYou Father for Your love, thankYou for your mercy and may we each learn to listen to the silence of our hearts and grow closer to You. In Jesus name, Amen.

Are you a child of God? Children are innocent, they take you at your word, "because" even is a good answer. Then we grow up and have to have proof or we don't believe. The word of God is our proof, read it, meditate upon it, let it sink into your soul. Reading scripture opens up God's plan for our lives, there is hidden revelations as you learn more. Read a little every day and sit on the Fathers knee, take Him at His word and be child like, grow in His presence.
Dear Lord God, You are the Great Teacher, open Your knowledge and wisdom to us. Bring joy into this day and help us imitate the innocence of a little child. May we be sponges to what You are willing to give. Overcome our fears of moving forward, and bless this day with hope. Your children need You. Daily Thoughts 8-18-2017 Matthew 19:5-6 updated
Jesus is our spiritual leader, are you the spiritual leader in your marriage? Do you have a spiritual marriage, is there time spent together in prayer? Part of the challenge of being married is to not grow apart, to be together and honor God as one flesh. You know when there is a distance growing between the two of you, be a man of God and grab her hand, walk together and grow together. That distance is a trick of the devil, he wants to divide. As you both walk with God, the differences will go away, your love for each other will grow because where there is God, there is love ❤️.
Dear Almighty Father, I thank You for the woman You gave me to grow with. Show me how to be the spiritual leader in our lives. Teach me Your wisdom and help us pass on these lessons to the beautiful children and grandchildren You have given us. I ask that You heal marriages that are in trouble, I ask that You bless them with peace. May we all work on our covenant union as married couples and may Christ richly bless this sacred sacrament. In Jesus name, Amen.

A man and his wife were having an argument about who
should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first,
and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee.
The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and
you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.'
Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.'
Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.'
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages,
that it indeed says 'HEBREWS'

Daily Thoughts 8-17-2017 Matthew 18:34-35
What motives you? In these versus Jesus tells us what will happen if we don't forgive. Jesus shares His love and compassion with us and we feel His presence and forgiveness. Then what do we do with it? Do we share the same love with those that have offended us or do we condemn them and are unwilling to forgive because our pain is too great. This happens all too often within families, they will not forgive each other and carry this burden to their grave. Read the verses again, God's word is TRUTH, He is obligated to follow His word for He is word.
You make the first move and forgive, heal your pain by forgiving those that have hurt you. Go and speak to them, forgive them and let it go and watch your heart heal. God forgave you - why are you waiting, eternity is a long time. You have read this and can no longer plead ignorance. FOREVER
Dear Lord God, I love the guidance of Your Holy Spirit, I enjoy Your comfort and solace. I love You and my only desire is to please You. Please forgive my prideful ways, teach me this day to be a better husband, a better father, a better brother, a better co-worker, a better man, a better stranger. You are Holy and deserving of all of our love, remove the burdens of un-forgiveness and heal families and friends.

Listening to the voice of God, sometimes the answer isn't what you want to hear but as a follower of Christ we are to honor the Father. We are called to trust. Father knows best, so therefore I praise Him today. His ways are not our ways and there will be times you do not want to praise Him, there will be times you do not want honor Him. These are the times you ARE to praise and honor Him more. Not my will be done, but thy will be done, the choice is yours.
Dear Heavenly Father, what an awesome God You are. Thank You for another day to do Your will, I trust You. I ask that You walk with me today, to be by my side. To help with the tasks of this day and to help me live in the presence. Glorious is Your name and great are Your deeds. You are mighty, You are strong, You are loving and we are wonderfully made. Inspire us to live for You no matter the circumstances. I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 8-15-2017 Luke 1:46-48a
Our mother Mary, was to give birth to the Savior of the world. She accepted what God had asked of her, I am sure frightened but also filled with joy and awe, these words demonstrate how she truly felt. Each of us in our own ways can proclaim the greatness of the Lord, we too carry Jesus and allow Him to impact our lives and those around us. True happiness comes in our daily prayer life, those moments where you get to know your covenant family. Mary walked hand in hand with God long before the angel Gabriel came to visit her. She too was strengthened by her daily prayer life.
Dear Lord God, You know best and I accept Your will for my life. Fill my spirit with an over flowing peace. I thank Mother Mary for saying yes and her faithfulness to her children. You are the Greatest, God, I thank You for another day. May I always do Your will with a gentle heart and may You use me as You see fit. I trust in You, Amen!

You are called to the glory of Jesus Christ, to possess His glory. Remember this is a journey to the promised land, some days we move three steps forward, the next two steps back yet you are still moving forward. God gives us His glory and He gives us the time to grow in and into His glory and holiness. Too many of us are hard on ourselves, remember Rome wasn't built in a day, persevere. Continue forward, enjoy the journey and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ, He has you.
Dear Heavenly Father, great are You that You would choose each of us for Your purpose. Thank You for the guidance of Your Holy Spirit, I pray I may honor You today. Help me recall the life of Jesus and understand it is in the journey that I grow closer to You. May we possess Your holiness as we go into the world this week. Jesus needed His quiet time, He needed solitude. The craziness of His days with crowds following Him and seeking Him out makes His relationship with The Father more important. He knows where to turn too for quiet comfort and strength. There is something to be said about being by yourself praying to God. Listening to Him in the stillness of the morning. Find the time to be alone with God, go there regularly and listen. Be at peace sitting at the Fathers feet.
Dear Heavenly Father, You bless us when we make time for You. Your Son Jesus teaches us to go to You for direction in our lives, He teaches us how to charge the batteries. Thank You for our time together, thank You for the quietness of the day. Thank You for Your loving embrace as You prepare me for the day ahead. Send Your Holy Spirit and call us to come to You. May we never stop seeking Your love so we may go forth and be Your hands, your eyes, Your ears, Your voice to those You bring across our path. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 8-12-2017 Matthew 17:16
Were the disciples relying upon their own ability to cure him? They witnessed Jesus curing others - looked easy. Jesus later tells His disciples "He said to them, "Because of your little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20. The disciples had not yet learned to walk by faith and not by sight. They hadn't learned to trust God and accept His will. They still lacked belief at this time, it wasn't until Pentecost Sunday when they accepted the Holy Spirit and they walked by faith. Do you walk by faith?
Dear Lord God, a lack of faith controls our lives, remove what ever impedes us from believing in You and Your abilities. Help us grow in faith as Your disciples did, may we remember it is a journey as we walk closer to You. You are my rock whom I stand upon, bless this day with Your blessings whether they be good or bad, it will be Your will for my life and it will be for the Glory of You. Daily Thoughts 8-10-2017 John 8:12bc
Does life ever get you down, do you have pity parties and ask why me? This is walking in darkness and the light of Christ is covered up. Jesus was persecuted, denied and rejected, and still marched on. "For it was fitting that he, for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory, should make the leader to their salvation perfect through suffering." Hebrews 2:10. As a follower of Christ you must light your light shine and count yourself worthy for the glory of our Heavenly Father. Smile, Jesus loves you.
I bind unto myself today the power of God to hold and lead, His eye to watch, his might to stay, his ear to hearken to my need; the wisdom of my God to teach, his hand to guide, his shield to ward; the word of God to give me speech, his heav'nly host to be my guard.
Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me, Christ to comfort me and restore me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ in the hearts of all that love me, Christ in the mouth of friend and stranger.
I bind unto myself the Name, the strong Name of the Trinity, by invocation of the same, the Three in One. and One in Three, of whom all nature hath creation:

This is an interesting exchange between the Canaanite women and Jesus. She comes before Jesus in respect and Jesus challenges her. The Canaanites worshipped other gods and did not follow the mosaic law. They were separated from God and here she was paying God homage. God does not give us His best food when we first turn to Him. He wants to see our love for Him and not that for other gods. It is in the daily journey with Him that He gives us the choices morsels. Do you pay Him homage everyday?
Dear Lord God, I am happy to receive the scraps from the table, I pray I am paying You homage thru out the day though I know I fall short all the time. Thank You for Your graces and blessings each day. Thank You for the freedom to choose and I am thankful I continue to choose You. Are we not like Peter on our spiritual journey. We get out of the boat and walk on water, then start feeling the wind pushing against us. Jesus called out to you and it is He who has you. Take a deep breath and keep walking. He is with you and we know how the story ends. The wind may blow and buffet you about but Jesus has won. Turn to Jesus and see His glory, feel His glory and live His glory. This world is only temporary but eternity is forever and you will live for eternity with Him. Make that your vision and then just keep walking but do it with the glory of God in your heart.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the joy in my spirit. Thank You for calling us out of the boat and showing us how to walk on water. May I ignore the wind and rough seas and focus on You and Your glory. You are God, You can do all things. Bless this day with peace and an over abundance of joy. Amen.

Daily Thoughts 8-7-2017 Matthew 14:19
The divinity of Christ, He is true God and pure man. Yesterday in the Gospel reading we read about the transfiguration of Jesus. His divinity shone thru and He is seen in His glory. Today He again shows us His divinity and glory by transforming the fishes and loaves to feed the multitude. Jesus continues to show us His divinity and glory in the Eucharistic feast that is celebrated at each mass. "Listen to Him."
Dear Lord God, You share Your glory and divinity with us when we are fed manna from Heaven. Fill us with Your holy presence. Bring peace, gentleness and calmness into our spirits. Help us overcome the challenges of the week ahead. May we feel the spirit of peace as we go forward. Help us see Your glory Lord for our lives. Overcome the anxiety that holds us back. You are the great I AM, may you shine through in my life. Amen.
Mary, Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 8-6-2017 Matthew 17:5
What an amazing event, the transfiguration of Jesus, His face shone like the sun and His clothes became dazzling white. I have an image of Peter being a ball of nervous energy, he is experiencing this in the flesh with his own eyes. He had to be awe struck, he is seeing Moses who God established the old covenant with and Elijah who was known as the son of prophets. And then God speaks and tells them to "listen to Him". Do you listen to the words that Jesus speaks? Do you take Him at His word? Read His words and put yourself there with Jesus, and listen to Him.
Dear Heavenly Father, I struggle with a prayer this morning though I know you are near. I thank You for the day that lays ahead and I ask for Your holy will to be accomplished in our lives. Amen.
Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 8-5-2017 Leviticus 25:17b
Let these words sink in, "I, the Lord, am YOUR God." He is my refuge, He is where I turn to in my time of need and He is God. In the silence, listen to Him, He will rescue you. Stand on His word and trust in Him.
Dear Lord God, I raise my hands to You this morning. You are God and You know the way forward. Bring peace and direction into this world. Help others find You Lord and follow You. May I never wander from Your path. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 8-4-2017 Matthew 13:58
Do we hold back the out pouring of His Holy Spirit because of our lack of faith? God is amazing! He is in our midst all the time, as I write this He is watching over me, as you read this God is watching over you. God goes beyond anything we can fathom. If I can learn to recognize I am in His presence all the time then I will realize all the mighty deeds He is doing. Be in awe and wonderment of our God, be blessed in knowing how much He loves you and be thankful in ALL things.
Dear Lord God, give me awe of Your presence, do not let me get complacent of Your majesty and mighty deeds. Give me thankfulness for every action and gift in my life. May I think of You at all times today. I am sorry for not recognizing you in the past. We are made in Your image, You created each of us to live with You for ever. May I live for You and in You today, be ever in my thoughts, Amen.
Mary, Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 8-3-2017 Isaiah 66:1-2
Isaiah 66:1-2
Mighty is the Lord, what dwelling place did God make with His own hands? Your heart, your soul, you.
At baptism we are given the gift of the Holy Spirit and God dwells within. It is up to us to invite God into our hearts. He stands at the door and knocks, will you turn His house into a home? Love of God is the difference, there is joy knowing God is at home with you, leading you and guiding you. That doesn't mean each day will be a cake walk but He is always there. Look at Jesus, He spent time with the Father in prayer and silence. Yet He was afflicted and punished for us. We will never go through what He did but we will be tested each day, go to battle with God at the center of your life. Put on the armor of God and may He rest in your heart.
Dear Heavenly Father, You know what is best for us, may I be open to Your holy will. May I listen to Your direction and follow Your lead. Continue to cleanse my spirit Lord so You are always on my mind and in my actions. I thank You for all Your blessings, even the ones that come out of left field. I trust You completely and give You authority to do what is needed. Heal the broken hearted Lord and bless this day with peace of mind. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Daily Thoughts 8-2-2017 Exodus 34:29
How is your daily prayer life? Do you go to the mountain of the Lord and sit in His presence. When you find an unending treasure, you want to give it away. There is a joy and a peace that we receive when you sit at the feet of Christ each day. My day only becomes busier from here but God listens, I listen and we go into the day. Nothing can come to us that we can't deal with. Spend time early in the morning and go to the mountain. Ground yourself in His word, start the day in radiance and enjoy life!
Lord Jesus, Father God, Holy Spirit, ya'll speak to my heart when I go to the mountain. Thank You for this grace each day. Thank You for the peace to begin anew each day. May I radiate Your love today, may I listen to Your guidance, may I follow where you lead me today. You are constant and mighty, You are the rock I lean on, You are my pearl of great price, be ever in my midst. Lord, give this grace to more and more believers, may Your Church grow stronger in our world, Amen.
Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

Daily Thoughts 8-1-2017 Exodus 34:6-7
Have you considered the example you set for your children? God is a loving God, always looking out for us and forgiving each of us for our sins. He does not punish us for our ancestors sins unless we are following their example. God loves each of us equally and He is always at the ready to forgive us. Think about your actions, they lead others, is it drawing them closer to Christ or is it passing on faults. You will change future generations by following Christ and living the example He left for us. Follow your brother Jesus as His father is God, our Creator.
Dear Lord God, You are a loving and gracious God, always loving us with open arms. You are awesome! I thank You and honor You today in my thoughts and actions. You are worthy of all my love, help me see those things that cause You pain. Show me how to change and give me strength and patience to do so. I trust You for my future and I place myself in Your hands, You know what is best and will always bless us if we will follow You. Bless this day and be by my side and in my heart, amen.
Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.
