Daily Thoughts 8-9-2017 Matthew 15:25-26

"But the woman came and did him homage, saying, "Lord, help me." He said in reply, "It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15:25-26‬

This is an interesting exchange between the Canaanite women and Jesus.   She comes before Jesus in respect and Jesus challenges her.  The Canaanites worshipped other gods and did not follow the mosaic law.  They were separated from God and here she was paying God homage.   God does not give us His best food when we first turn to Him. He wants to see our love for Him and not that for other gods.  It is in the daily journey with Him that He gives us the choices morsels.  Do you pay Him homage everyday?

Dear Lord God, I am happy to receive the scraps from the table, I pray I am paying You homage thru out the day though I know I fall short all the time. Thank You for Your graces and blessings each day.  Thank You for the freedom to choose and I am thankful I continue to choose You.  Bless this day Lord God, use me as You see fit, You are the Master of my life.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Souls, pray for us.
