Daily Thoughts 8-21-2017 Matthew 19:21

"Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to [the] poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." Matthew‬ ‭19:21‬

Does Jesus want us to be perfect or does He want us to sell what we have?  No to both, in my opinion.  The young man was seeking perfection and the only perfect one is Jesus.  He was prideful because of his position in life, Jesus was helping him leave those things behind that was holding him back.  As you follow Jesus, He will help you on your journey, He prepares you for eternity.  Don't be like the rich young man and count the price too high.

Dear Holy Father, I am blessed to be alive, I am thankful for Your guidance and Your direction on the things that interfere in our relationship.  You love us beyond measure and only seeks what is good for us.  Open my eyes to the things that gets in my way.  I trust in You and You are all I need.  Bless this day and keep us safe, I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Christ, pray for us.
