www.dailythoughts.com Luke 1:53-55 5-31-2018

"The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever."" Luke‬ ‭1:53-55‬

What a prophetic message from such a young person, Mary knew the importance of the child Jesus she was carrying.  She knew what God had promised and the depth of His answer.  Her love for God was like no other for she understood the history and what this child was going to do for humanity.  She was hungry, obviously filled with the mystery of God.  Are you hungry?  Or are you rich, have it all figured out, only to realize they are empty promises.  Mary, in her knowledge sought meaning for her life.  She recognized her responsibility to God's plan, you have a similar responsibility.  Your actions are known by God, are you carrying the child Jesus into a world seeking?  You are either empty or full, the good thing about empty is, it will draw you to God, when you figure it out.  Think, is your soul proclaiming the greatness of God?  Mary's was! and she was only a teenager.

Dear Heavenly Father, I love You.  I pray for the rich Lord, and I know that in Your plan they will be drawn to You.   Our hearts desire to know You, fill them with the same desire that Mary has, to know You, to love You and to serve You.  Help us treat everyone the same, Saint or sinner, may I not be haughty in my response thinking better of myself.  Bless this day Lord and thank You for this time.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mirror of Justice, pray for us.

I love this Irish version!!  Listen to the words.

www.dailythoughts.com Mark 10:35 5-29-2018

"Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said to him, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:35‬

Do we truly realize what we are asking of God when we ask?  I have this recurring thought lately of Heaven on earth, we want everything to be perfect, and everything be the way we want it.  James and John didn't know what they were asking for, neither do we.  "This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms‬ ‭118:24‬.  We aren't promised Heaven on earth, we are promised salvation thru the blood of the Lamb.  In your trials know that as long as God is at the center you are being purified, give thanks.  And God is always at the center for this is what our heart desires, we only have to realize it is God that we seek.    "More than that, I even consider everything as a loss because of the supreme good of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have accepted the loss of all things and I consider them so much rubbish, that I may gain Christ" ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:8‬

Dear Lord, in my ignorance I ask but You know what is best for me.  I willing take what You are giving and am thankful.  Ease the pain of those going thru trials Lord, may their strength be You for You endured all of our pain that we may gain You.  I am thankful Lord that are time in this part of our journey is but a blip compared to forever, may we rejoice and be glad that You consider us worthy.  To You be the glory and the power forever, Amen.

"Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, live soberly, and set your hopes completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ." ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:13‬

Revelation is insight, something that you didn't see before and was hidden in plain sight.  As you chew upon God's word, it will gird or shore up the most important muscle in your body, your brain.  If you think about the saints their lives were transformed a little each day as their hope wasn't placed on earthly things but upon what was above, the Word of God.  Live your life here on earth with expectation, always hoping upon the Lord and living holy lives as we are called to do.

Dear Heavenly Father, I wait upon grace and placing my hopes and prayers upon You.  Some days I am strong and others I am weak, gird up my mind and give the grace that you promise to give.  Help me make time for You through out my day that I may always be present to You.  Prayers for those waiting and hoping in You, bless them Lord with peace and strength.   In Jesus name, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Mark 10:17, 21-22. 05-28-2018

"As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said to him, "You are lacking in one thing. Go, sell what you have, and give to [the] poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me." At that statement his face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions." Mark‬ ‭10:17, 21-22‬

Jesus didn't mince words did He, He went straight to the core.  The man wanted the answer to the most important question in each of our lives, what must I do to inherit eternal life.  Salvation is a free gift, why didn't Jesus tell the man he believed and he was already saved?  Jesus knew what held him back, he loved something more than God.  "Therefore, you shall love the LORD, your God, with your whole heart, and with your whole being, and with your whole strength."  Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:5‬.  If you asked Jesus the same question what do you think His answer would be?   Salvation is free but with it comes responsibility no different than the freedom we enjoy today.

Dear Heavenly Father, I am blessed to be living in this wonderful country that enjoys freedom like no other.  We are given the opportunity to enjoy Heaven on earth, May I live this way daily always placing You at the center.  I pray for those men who died so I may taste freedom, may I not take their efforts in vain and waste the responsibility that has been given to me.  I thank You for this day and I ask that You bless and protect those fighting for our country.  In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Happy Memorial Day!  And thank you to all the veterans on fought for each of us.

www.dailythoughts.com Matthew 28:19 5-27-2018

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit," Matthew‬ ‭28:19‬

The sign of the cross, a reminder of who and what we believe in.  God the Father who created each of us.  God the Son, who died for us and God the Holy Spirit who guides us.  It is one of the first things I learned as a Catholic to do.   A very simple gesture that indicates my faith in the Triune God.  "And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us." Acts‬ ‭15:8.  God knows my heart when I make the sign of the cross and He knows that I bear witness to Him and His saving grace.

Dear Lord God, I am thankful this morning for the opportunity to sit and listen, to be in your presence and not feel rushed.  I thank You for giving us a sign that we may acknowledge our baptism into Your Holy Family.  I thank You for the Holy Spirit that guides me and for the desire to follow.  I pray for those that do not believe may we in some way bring light to their unbelief.  Bless this day Lord and may I praise You at times without saying a word that speaks volumes.  In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Christ, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com James 5:14-15 5-26-2018

"Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint [him] with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven." ‭‭James‬ ‭5:14-15‬

The seventh sacrament of the universal Catholic Church, I just love finding hidden gems within God's word.  God's word is truth, as you read it, what is the Holy Spirit revealing to you.  I am thankful for the heritage and tradition of truth that has been passed along to me by those given the responsibility to teach me as I grew up.  I am thankful that I am being led by the same Holy Spirit that inspired James to write this book and this verse.   "If He has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.", why would anyone deny this special grace from their faith or their loved ones.  Be blessed today and seek His love and guidance in your life.

Dear Heavenly Father, "LORD, I call to you; hasten to me; listen to my plea when I call. Let my prayer be incense before you; my uplifted hands an evening offering." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭141:1-2‬ ‭ I thank You for the same Holy Spirit that guided James guides me, You never mislead us or misguide us if we are being true to Your word.  In Jesus, and His Word, I trust, Amen.

Mary, Queen of the afflicted, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Mark 10:7-8 5-25-2018

"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother [and be joined to his wife], and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh." Mark‬ ‭10:7-8‬

Who is the perfect example of the perfect covenant union?  Jesus and His Father, He was the obedient Son, who laid down His life.  Being of one flesh does not always mean you are both in agreement but it does mean that you are willing to give of yourself to serve the other.  We live in a world that denies this truth, its goal is to divide and conquer.  It wants your "yes" to be "no" and your "no" to be "yes".   The world teaches self over other.  Rethink your priorities and give of your self to your spouse, be of one flesh with Jesus being at the center.  Even if you are not in agreement He is leading the way, trust in Him for His "Yes" is Yes.   Allow Christ to lead you to the perfect covenant union with the gift He has given you, your spouse.

Dear Lord, I pray for Your covenant family as it is always under attack but we are protected by You when we submit ourselves into Your care.  I thank You for this day and the insight that is readily available when we seek to serve others and not ourselves.  Bring peace into relationships that are hurting, remove the anger and allow each to grow in a deeper union with You.  Bless this day Lord and Thank You for always being there!  In the name that saves, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

"Behold, the wages you withheld from the workers who harvested your fields are crying aloud, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and pleasure; you have fattened your hearts for the day of slaughter." ‭‭James‬ ‭5:4-5‬

We are each given different lots in life and different talents that are to be used to glorify our Father in Heaven.  If along the way we believe it is ours and only ours we are not following what Jesus tells us.  "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these.""
‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:30-31‬.  "Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more." Luke‬ ‭12:48‬b.  Are you serving God with His gifts or yourself.   We will all seek God's mercy better to prepare for it than be ignorant of what is to come.  You can no longer claim ignorance for He has told each of us in His own way.  Be blessed today knowing God Loves you and give what He has given you.

Dear Heavenly Father, You overwhelm me with Your love and I thank You for sharing Your beauty and creation that is around us.   May I use the gifts and talents that have been given not for my own glorification or selfish desires but to point to You and give what You give to each of us.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"Or do you suppose that the scripture speaks without meaning when it says, "The spirit that he has made to dwell in us tends toward jealousy"? But he bestows a greater grace; therefore, it says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."" James‬ ‭4:5-6‬

I am challenged this morning, I know what I need to do but the spirit needs fortified for it was up to me the path of least resistance would be the way.  Do I think only of self or do I think of Christ, what does He want.  Therefore I will submit my will to His and trust in Him to guide my steps today.  "So then, my beloved, obedient as you have always been, not only when I am present but all the more now when I am absent, work out your salvation with fear and trembling." Philippians‬ ‭2:12‬.  We work out our salvation everyday and we can not rest thinking we have arrived, this is pride speaking.  Seek His grace and humble yourself before God.

Dear Heavenly Father, I love You more than anything else, I seek You this morning to give the grace and for me to receive it.  I thank You for these opportunities that challenge and will not let me rest.  I thank You for Your beauty that surrounds me this morning.   I pray for the humility to follow Your direction and I promise I will wait upon You, lead the way Lord.  I look forward to the day with anticipation, open the door for You to enter.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

"And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."" Genesis‬ ‭3:15

What is the meaning of enmity?  Actively opposed or hostile to someone.  Now I ask you, do we see this today in the world between the evil one and a woman?  I can't help but think this verse refers to the mother of Jesus.  They are actively opposed to each other and therefore she is always under attack.  What other woman can this verse be speaking of?  I ask you to spend some time in prayer if this challenges you and your way of thinking.  God's word endured for ever and we are to be obedient to it.   Have a blessed day, God has it all under control!

Dear Lord God, I thank You and honor You this day.   I thank You for the protection of Your family and the guidance of Your Holy Spirit.   Lord, I thank You for the reality of life and the challenges we face each day.  Come Holy Spirit and renew the face of the earth with the seed of hope, Love, joy and an army of warriors to speak up when called upon.  I see what You see and I pray for those lost to the ways of the world.   Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Galatians 5:16-17 5-20-2018

"I say, then: live by the Spirit and you will certainly not gratify the desire of the flesh. For the flesh has desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; these are opposed to each other, so that you may not do what you want." Galatians‬ ‭5:16-17‬

"Sanctify yourselves, then, and be holy; for I, the LORD, your God, am holy." ‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭20:7‬  We are called by God to be holy, this takes conscious effort on our part.  The flesh works against the Spirit in trying to separate us from His sanctifying grace.   We on the other hand are to work on following the Spirit.   We can not do this by ourselves, only thru Christ Jesus can we truly be free from the desires of the flesh.  It was Him that died on the cross for these desires  and it was Him who gave us an Advocate to help us to be sanctified.  Receive His Holy Spirit and become the Saint you are called by God to be.

Dear Holy Spirit, come fill me with Your presence, remove the desires that are opposed to You and increase within the desire to know You and love You more.  Lord, You know what I need and it is You that I place my care into Your hands, I in turn will give of myself to You.  Bless this day Lord God and thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit.  In Jesus name, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com John 22:20-22 5-19-2018

"Peter turned and saw the disciple following whom Jesus loved, the one who had also reclined upon his chest during the supper and had said, "Master, who is the one who will betray you?" When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what about him?" Jesus said to him, "What if I want him to remain until I come? What concern is it of yours? You follow me."" ‭‭John‬ ‭21:20-22‬

You follow me.  I have been people watching the last couple of days, it is very entertaining.  The full range of emotions will walk in front of you if you sit long enough, each of us are on our own journey.  This I know without a doubt, Jesus loves every single one of us, not one of us misses His gaze.  I believe God is telling us, while we can watch, we are not to judge.  A man's heart draws him to God, they may not recognize it is God but it is.  Some roads lead to dead ends because God isn't in front, He is behind watching.  We must turn back and find another path.  The true path we are to follow is the one He gave us, Jesus Christ, His Son.  Follow Jesus, as you learn about Him you will realize true wealth is found in knowing Him and loving Him.  May the Spirit of Truth lead you to Him.

Dear Father God, in a sea of humanity, You lead us to You.  Quiet the noise that surrounds us and speak softly to our inner self.  Open our eyes that we may see the beauty that is all around.  Open our minds that we may know Truth and open our ears that we may hear the soft whisper of You calling each of us to step out of the hustle and bustle, find a quiet spot and seek Your companionship.  Jesus, I love You and I am following, lead me today to where we are to go.  Amen.

"When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."" John‬ ‭21:15‬

Do you love me more than these?  What a challenging question for all of us to answer.  You are at the breakfast table with Christ and He is asking.  I look out into a world that you have to seek Him out yet all want to get to Heaven.  I believe Jesus is telling us we must we willing to give of ourselves and make Him known.  To leave it all behind if that is what He is asking.  Salvation is a free gift but it comes with a price.  Paul didn't go on living the way he did before, he did what Jesus told him.  He followed the direction of Jesus.  Feed His lambs.

Dear Lord God, as I prepare for the day ahead.  May I follow the direction You provide, it may be in a quiet unassuming way or out in front, either way I will obey.  When we respond to the Holy Spirit it changes lives, may I respond with Your love and feed Your lambs.  Bless this day Lord and thank You for being able to spend time with family.   Come Holy Spirit and over shadow us with Your gentle wisdom.  Amen.

""I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you" ‭‭John‬ ‭17:20-21‬a

God calls all Christians to be one, as He and Jesus are one.  "complete my joy by being of the same mind, with the same love, united in heart, thinking one thing." Philippians‬ ‭2:2.  What two groups is Jesus speaking about, they both believe in Him?  We are all called to go into the world and preach the Gospel, this authority was given to us by Jesus Christ.  We should insure we are focusing our efforts on those who don't believe.  No different than how Paul divided the Sanhedrin by challenging the different beliefs, Satan will do the same to believers.   We should each to strive to understand each other and be united by Christ Jesus as one body.

Dear Lord God, there are many in this world who are misled and not being guided by love.  Refocus their efforts on Your great commission, to preach the gospel by actions of love.  Help us be united in our efforts and be of one mind as You and Dad are.  Bless this day Lord, protect us in our travels and renew the minds of the faithful with Your peace.  In Jesus name, Amen.

"Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. And I consecrate myself for them, so that they also may be consecrated in truth." John‬ ‭17:17-19‬

Are you dedicated to the word of God?  Jesus was, and He is the Word, the Bible is written about Him and how to live in love.  He gave His life for this purpose that we know the Father as He knows Him.  He consecrated Himself on the cross, He is the sacrificial Lamb so we can live with the Father for ever.  Knowing that He died for me and I consume Him each week, I am consecrated in truth.  Greater is He that is in me!  You are what you eat, consume the Word of Truth.  Live the life He gives you and offer it up each day.

Dear Father God, You consume me and I thank You for that.  My words can't describe what I am feeling this morning but You know that already.  I offer up this day to You with all its joys and trials, may it ease the pain on those You care for.  Bless Your children Lord with a compassionate heart, may they see what Your Son Jesus sees.   Strengthen us with Your word and give us knowledge of Your salvation.  Help us walk in faith as You did, may we carry the cross high and praise You.  I ask this in Your Most Holy Name, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Acts 20:21, 24. 5-15-2018

"I earnestly bore witness for both Jews and Greeks to repentance before God and to faith in our Lord Jesus.

Yet I consider life of no importance to me, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to bear witness to the gospel of God's grace." ‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:21, 24‬

There is a wisdom in reading the readings for the day that gives meaning to our lives and calling from God.  www.usccb.org.  Jesus was inclusive of everyone, He didn't shone anyone and He didn't force anyone to believe against their will.  The choice was theirs to choose their own course in life.  Yet inside each of us is that desire to know God, to be drawn to Him, this is grace.   As you read the readings today, you will see how Jesus operates under the authority of God the Father, by the tutelage of the Holy Spirit. Paul does the exact same thing.  If more of us would operate under the authority of the Holy Spirit, we would bear witness to the Gospel, Paul did and the Gospel hadn't been written yet.  "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the spirit of truth" John‬ ‭14:16‬, 17a

Dear Lord God, I know you bore my sins on the cross and it was a heavy price.  I can never repay You but what I can do is live my life for You.  I thank You for considering me worthy of this calling.  I pray for the saints who are in waiting, I pray for their well being and for their efforts.  I pray for the saints no one knows about but you, those living out their lives in servitude for You, providing acts of selfless love.   Bless them Lord with a smile on their face and joy in their hearts for they are the chosen ones.  Amen.

"If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love.

I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing." ‭John‬ ‭15:10a, 15‬a

Jesus tells us what He is doing and what is in store for us if we follow Him.  "In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?" John‬ ‭14:2‬.  The choice is ours everyday to stay in His love.  Sin or the near occasion of sin removes us little by little from His love.  It isn't Him but us who makes this happen.  Overtime, we become slaves and do not realize where we are heading, we don't even think about it.  We are following aimlessly without realizing the plan.  Just look at the culture, there are consequences to everything it preaches but the message is do what makes you feel good.  Open your eyes and be lead by Christ, know your future and do not walk around blindly.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are my Lord and Master, I follow where You lead me and I thank You for providing all that I will need.  Awaken within us the desire to know You more.  Help us recognize the trickery of the devil and keep us in Your love.   Thank You Lord for a great weekend with family, keep us safe this coming week and may we always stay by your side.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

"to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ," ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:12-13‬

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.  How did Jesus treat His mother Mary, with honor and respect.  What about the body of Christ, have all of us been brought to this understanding or do some want to dismiss the mother of God?  God wants us to have unity of faith and to mature in our understanding.  Asking questions of one another is a good way to learn why the Church(we are the church) believes what it does.  I learned something this week from a friend who wanted to understand.  Mary was the perfect choice to be Mother of Christ, she wasn't like any of the other characters that God chose that had imperfections.  Whether it was stuttering with Moses, David's prideful ways or Peters denial, Mary was perfectly chosen from her birth, I can't think of any imperfections she had.  As a believer, Mary points us to her Son Jesus.  Happy Mother's Day Mom, I love you!

Dear Lord God, I know You love mothers, for from them, they fulfill Your plan of salvation, to bring new life into the world.  Bless all the mothers today Lord with love and kindness, may their children recognize the sacrifices a mother makes each and everyday.  Prayers for mothers who have lost a child, may they find comfort and healing in knowing Your mother experienced the same loss.  Bless this day Lord and thank You for giving me the perfect mother.  Amen

"For God is king over all the earth; sing hymns of praise. God rules over the nations; God sits upon his holy throne." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭47:8-9‬

I am enjoying the beauty of the morning and listening to the sounds that surround me.  All of this is under God's control, the birds have need for nothing.  They are living out their nature they were designed for.  Us imperfect creatures can live in the same place if we would but sit still and listen to Him.  He is the teacher, we are the students.  I am just like I was in school, sometimes listening and other times not.  He is still faithful, waiting patiently on His student to spend time with Him and apply the lesson for the day.  Today it is to sing praise, just to sing praise.  Be blessed today, God is in charge and there is nothing that gives Him concern if we listen to Him.

Dear Lord God, I know you are singing to my heart and speaking your wisdom within me. I thank You and worship You from the moment I awake.  Help me remain at peace through out the day, help me serve others and live the true nature that You designed me for.  Bless those Lord that choose to sacrifice their time and energy to serve You.  Fill them with joy and peace, which radiates Your light.  I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Acts 18:9-10 5-11-2018

"One night in a vision the Lord said to Paul, "Do not be afraid. Go on speaking, and do not be silent, for I am with you. No one will attack and harm you, for I have many people in this city."" ‭‭Acts‬ ‭18:9-10‬

Go on speaking for I am with you.  ""When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me." John‬ ‭15:26‬.  God asks us to keep on speaking and not to worry about what to say for He will do the talking.  We just need to be willing to be obedient.   When we speak and seek God out, relying upon Him for the knowledge, He will provide, this is one of His promises.  "While meeting with them, he enjoined them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for "the promise of the Father about which you have heard me speak;" Acts‬ ‭1:4‬. He tells us not to be afraid and to speak.  Your faith, His words through you, strengthens others, be bold, be passionate, be you!

Dear Heavenly Father, I am ready and willing, I will open my mouth, You fill it with the words that You desire to be heard.  I love You God and I am ready, come fill me with Your Holy Spirit.  Prayers for a friend in need.  Thank You Lord for always being there in our times of need when we call on You.  Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all, Triune God be my all!

Mary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Mark 16:16-17 5-9-2018

"Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages." Mark‬ ‭16:16-17‬

These are the words of Christ before He ascended into Heaven.  Think about His first disciples, they did just as He said.  In His name, they drove out demons and spoke new languages.  Do you believe as they did? Are you doing the things they did?  Remember they were fearful too until they received the Holy Spirit.  The only thing we need to be is willing and responsive.  "But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ's gift." ‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:7‬. Be bold, be fearless, be a witness to the power of God and be who God made you to be, the child of the King.

Dear Heavenly Father, You have chosen each of us for a purpose, You pour Your grace upon each of us.  May I respond with belief in Your Holy name.   I thank You for the many opportunities presented, over come my fears and perceived weaknesses and be my strength.  Prayers for those in the storm, help them remember You are in the boat, resting peacefully.  Help us remember not to fret the small stuff and know all of it is small stuff.  You are God and are mighty, and we are Your chosen children.  Amen.

Mary, Mother Most Holy, pray for us.

Listen to the words.

www.dailythoughts.com John 16:13 5-8-2018

"But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming." ‭‭John‬ ‭16:13‬

I am amazed by the Holy Spirit and His direction when we are ready to listen and follow.  He will guide you, in order to be guided you must be willing to follow direction.  It is this direction that leads us closer to God and His purpose for us in this world.  It is a whisper, a nudge, a sense to go or do, a conviction.  If you sit still each day and learn to listen to God, He will speak and guide you.  I know, the challenge is to sit still.   If we all would hone our skill to listen and respond to the voice of God now wouldn't the world be a better place but the world works overtime to drown Him out.   Sit still my friend and be guided by God, be whom He made you to be, His perfect creation.

Dear Lord God, Thank You for those that are listening and being still in Your presence.  Thank You Lord for the changes that You are bringing about.  I just want to praise You this morning.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.  Thank You for the changes You are bringing about in the lives of those dedicated to serve You and be guided by Your Holy Spirit.  Bless this day Lord and may I be always at Your side.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Victory, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Acts 16:25-26 5-8-2018

"But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were unfastened." Acts‬ ‭16:25-26‬

Paul and Silas never left the prison for they were bound by the word of God.  They didn't think of their own selves but realized the consequences for the jailer.  Even those in prison with them never left, Paul helped others be strong.  What do you do when given the chance of being free from any restraint?  Do you walk in faith, trusting the Lord or do you run free of your own accord?  Only to be bound up tighter next time.  Each day we are free to choose do we think only of ourselves or do we strengthen others by being committed to Christ.  Don't fall victim to the devil, when you are weak He is strong.  "On the day I cried out, you answered; you strengthened my spirit." Psalms‬ ‭138:3‬

Dear Heavenly Father, I am thankful that I am bound by Your chains.  I sing praise to You for guarding my heart and convicting my spirit throughout life.  Many a time the doors were open but I stayed restrained by You and Your Holy Spirit.  Lord, I pray for those who are not bound by You, who wander in the wilderness, speak to them and bring them home.  I pray for those who deal with mental anguish, may they be strengthened by Your word.  Lord, be my strength today and bind my heart to Yours, I ask this of all who reads this thought.  In Jesus name, Amen.

www,dailythoughts.com Acts 15:26-27 5-7-2018

""When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning."John‬ ‭15:26-27‬

I contemplate this morning the Spirit of truth, there are a lot of "truths" yet only one Father.  Where does your truth come from?  Jesus is the truth, the way and the life.  The Advocate will convict you and show you the way.  Jesus always operated in love, "Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:1‬.  Is Love your guiding force or is it some other teacher?

Dear Lord God, I ask for Your help and guidance this week to test every voice and convict me with the Spirit of truth.  When I testify to You, may it be done in love and not any misguided interests.  Watch over Your family Lord and Thank You for keeping us out of harms way.  Convict us Lord to Your truth.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Truth, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com John 15:13-14 5-6-2018

"No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you."
‭‭John‬ ‭15:13-14‬

What is Jesus asking of us?  "This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me."" ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:24‬.  The sacrifice of the mass is Jesus laying down His life for us, do we lay down our life for Him?  "This is my commandment: love one another as I love you." John‬ ‭15:12‬.  Jesus walked this planet and loved saint and sinner alike, He didn't condemn the sinner and love the saint.  He loved them both equally and His actions spoke to that.  Will you lay down any self righteousness and love as Jesus did.  I think about all the problems that would disappear if we would just love each other even when we are not receiving the love back.  God won hearts by loving others, are you loving others or condemning them on their cross.    "No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you."
‭‭John‬ ‭15:13-14‬

Dear Lord, I see the lack of love in some thinking they are right and condemning Your body, impacting Your creation.  Open hearts to see the pain that is being caused and bring Your healing power into their lives.  Help them see You laying down Your life so we can live forever.  Thank You Jesus for laying down Your life for me, may I lay mine down for You in how I treat others.  Bring peace into homes that desperately need peace, bring sacrifice into hearts that are self righteous.  Bring love back where love was.  I ask this in Your Holy Name, Jesus Christ.

Mary, Mother of Love, show us the way.

www.dailythoughts.com John 15:20b 5-5-2018

"If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours." John‬ ‭15:20‬b

These are the words of Jesus, after His resurrection.  What did Jesus do to get persecuted?  He challenged the culture of His time and refuted their truth for what is truth.  He separated Himself from the culture while still living in it.   What can you do to bring about God's Kingdom?   Do you embrace the culture of the times or do you refute it.  I recognize there are things I need to change what about you?

Dear Lord God, I enjoy spending time with You and listening to You speak.  You bring clarity to my thinking and my actions.  I thank You for Your teaching, help me apply the lessons to my daily walk.  Bring peace in the midst of the chaos.  Thank You for the rain and the beauty that it brings.  Prayers for a family in need of help, may they find clarity in these times and see Your plan for their lives.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Acts 15:24-26 5-4-2018

"Since we have heard that some of our number [who went out] without any mandate from us have upset you with their teachings and disturbed your peace of mind, we have with one accord decided to choose representatives and to send them to you along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, who have dedicated their lives to the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." ‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:24-26‬

Is there one church or multiple churches?  In the early Church you can see the beginnings of hierarchy that helped guide the church to remain under the authority of Christ.  You can also see possible self interests getting in the way.  Christ came to unite us with His Father and divide us from the world.  Do we recognize the authority that Christ gave us in the beginning?  Do we work at uniting the church or dividing the church.  As Christians we are to separate ourselves from the world and be united to the authority that He gave us, one Holy Apostolic Church.  "Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful." Colossians‬ ‭3:14-15‬

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the wisdom of the ages to guide Your Church.  I thank You for the deliberate pace at which You work.   Help me be obedient to the teachings of the Church and operate within the Body of Christ.   Thank You Lord for the opportunity to be still and reflect upon You and Your ways.   Bless this day Lord and keep us under the guidance of Your Holy Spirit.   I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com John 14:10c 5-3-2018

"The Father who dwells in me is doing his works." John‬ ‭14:10‬c

I love watching God at work, listening to Him early in the morning and then throughout the day.  He never rests until He has accomplished what you have asked as long as it brings glory to His kingdom.  Do you give Him authority to work within?  God can do the impossible but it first starts within.

Dear Lord God, I thank You for entering my life and becoming part of me.  I thank You for allowing me to see You at work and transforming lives that glorify You.  I enjoy the pace You work at and You are never rushed.  Bless this day God, we are prepared for what the day has to hold.  May I be Your body today to do Your will, one moment at a time.  May I not feel any pressure that You do not want me to feel.   I ask this in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of Peace, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com John 15:8 4-2-2018

"By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples." John‬ ‭15:8‬

I went and seen the movie, Paul, the apostle of Christ.  A really good movie and gives you insight to the life of a Christian during the early church.  A disciple of Jesus during those days faced a real possibility of death.  The commitment was real, I am not sure it carries that same commitment today.  I think today it is what I heard recently, happy church.  If you are bearing fruit then be prepared to face challenges, welcome these situations.  Pray for the fortitude to deal with them as Jesus did.  Do the things that Christ did, pray that it depends upon God and work as it depends upon you.  In doing so, God is glorified and the fruits of your labor will be stored up in Heaven.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for those in the thick of the battle, send reinforcements to help.  Guide our actions today to bring glory to You.  Show us the way to bear much fruit.  I pray for a father trying to get his son on the right path, may God be part of that plan.  I pray for a family situation that seems impossible, may God mend hearts and minds.  I pray for those who are overwhelmed by situations, help them live in the moment and find peace in Christ.  Help us live peacefully in the chaos of life.  Battle shield is up Lord, I will follow You into battle, be my protection today.  To God, The Father, be the glory.  Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.
Pray for one another!

www.dailythoughts.com Acts 14:22 5-1-2018

"They strengthened the spirits of the disciples and exhorted them to persevere in the faith, saying, "It is necessary for us to undergo many hardships to enter the kingdom of God."" Acts‬ ‭14:22‬

Wouldn't it be nice if everything we did was easy?  This is the teaching of the culture today, everyone wants the easy way out.  If we never face adversity we will never know how to persevere and overcome what ever obstacles are placed in front of us.  Hardships slow us down and cause us to reflect upon the situation, what do I need to do or change?  The road to eternity is narrow and we will face many hardships along this road.  Stay the course, trust in God and pray for the strength to overcome the obstacles placed in front of you.  The prize is the Kingdom of God, Jesus died on a cross to return home, do you think you are just going to walk in without suffering or sacrifice?

Dear Lord God, Your timing is always perfect and You know how to strengthen my spirit when things get tough.  I thank You for the grace to turn to you in good times and bad.  Prayers for those going through hardships, prayers for those finding it easy.  Help us store up consolation for our times of need.  Bless this day and Thank You for loving me, a sinner in need of change.  To God be the glory, Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Innocent, pray for us.
