"Some time afterward, God put Abraham to the test and said to him: Abraham! "Here I am!" he replied. Then God said: Take your son Isaac, your only one, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. There offer him up as a burnt offering on one of the heights that I will point out to you." Genesis 22:1-2
Abraham has journeyed a long way with the Lord, he began by doubting what God was telling him, even laughing. Now he takes God for what He says and acts upon it without question, he trust God implicitly. Abraham is willing to give his only son knowing God will still fulfill His promise for Abraham's descendants. This journey to spiritual maturity takes time and together with God we will reach this stage with God. Daily practices of listening and responding, allowing God to teach you His will and His plan for your life. Abraham's journey was never easy, there were times of trials but in this momentous trial, Abraham never questions. There is hope for each of us for this strength comes from above, it is a grace, may we each receive it when called upon.
What is God saying to me: You Listen well, continue your journey, your time has not yet come. Will you say, "here I am"
Dear Lord, You always provide in our times of need, I thank You for these graces. I pray for those in the midst of a trial, may they recognize Your calling out to them and like Abraham may they be willing to respond even when it hurts. Thank You Father for loving us by giving us Your only Son, Jesus. May we honor this sacrifice by growing in our relationship with the You, the Triune God. May we take You into our day and may we be a blessing to all that we meet. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Blessed Mother, Queen of Angels, pray for us.
