Genesis 21 8-1-2019 www.dailythoughts.com

"But God said to Abraham: Do not be distressed about the boy or about your slave woman. Obey Sarah, no matter what she asks of you; for it is through Isaac that descendants will bear your name. As for the son of the slave woman, I will make a nation of him also, since he too is your offspring. Early the next morning Abraham got some bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. Then, placing the child on her back, he sent her away. As she roamed aimlessly in the wilderness of Beer-sheba," Genesis‬ ‭21:12-14‬

Food for the journey - Abram obeyed Sarah the first time, now God is telling Abraham to obey her. It is understandable the Abraham has concern for his son but God also reassures him he will be ok, God has a plan. There is a difference in Abraham for now he is honoring God in his decisions, he is listening and responding to God. This is what each of us must do each day, to discern who we are listening to and respond only to God's will. Life would be so much easier if we would learn to do that. God always gives us food for the journey.

Dear Father, I know there is a plan for our time here on earth, there is also a plan for when we leave this planet. As you are feeding us each day with the bread of life, help us be obedient to Your voice. Encourage us on our path forward and may we recognize Your will for our lives. Prayers for a couple of friends that have lost loved ones, help them know that God understands their pain. He gave us His Son so we may live forever. Bless this day and bless each of our journeys, we are never alone when we walk with You. Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.
