"How could I go back to my father if the boy were not with me? I could not bear to see the anguish that would overcome my father."" Genesis 44:34
The plea of Judah. Judah has experienced this anguish when Joesph did not return home. Judah saved Joesph by convincing his brothers from killing him, now he is pleading with Joesph to save his father from more grief. "Judah said to his brothers: "What is to be gained by killing our brother and concealing his blood? Come, let us sell him to these Ishmaelites, instead of doing away with him ourselves. After all, he is our brother, our own flesh." His brothers agreed." Genesis 37:26-27. Life is a great teacher as we experience different events we realize the consequences of our actions. The painful ones we do not want to repeat and we learn from our mistakes and the ones that bring joy to others we repeat. Joesph as well learns from the experience of Judah, he feels his passionate plea for Judah is speaking with experience and compassion. We can not give what we do not have, one of the reasons we face trials in our lives. God is a great teacher, remember it is not punishment but discipline.

What is God saying to me: Life is a gift, even those periods that seem to bring pain, there is a joy when you can glean what is truly important. There is a reason it is called the valley of tears.
Dear Father, it is good that we are here, for me to enjoy this time together. I love the lessons that are written in your word for us to glean from. There is so much more that meets the eye, continue to teach me the wisdom and life lessons that I need to learn. Thank You Father for Your Blessings that You pour upon us each day of our lives. I enjoy the peacefulness of the stillness when we are sitting together, it gives me time to think. Bless this day Lord and bless our efforts, in Jesus name, Amen. Special prayer for all the priests and religious who devote themselves to Your flock. Amen.
Mary, Queen of Saints, pray for us.
