Week 13 - The Journey Day 4

Week 13 - The Journey Day 4

"And as they reclined at table and were eating, Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.""  ‭‭Mark‬ ‭14:18‬

Free will, deliberate sin and blindness.  God listens to the hearts of men and hears the plans they have especially those blind to truth.  Does He interfere with what we intend to do?  He tries to interject and gives us something to think about.  He speaks but do we listen?  Judas didn't let God in, he has his plan in motion, he will defy God which is deliberate sin.  God does not want this for our lives, He sees and feels the pain and suffering it will cause but He also made us in His image with free will, we are free to chose our path.

Judas had to spend a moment or too on thinking about what he was told, what he heard couldn't be from God for that wasn't who God was to him.  God was someone who did what he wanted, he had control and that was his god.  Blind to the truth that looks directly into his eyes.

God speaks to each of us, He gives us the opportunity to listen and He allows us to chose.  Spending time in quiet contemplation, shutting out the world, inviting the Holy Spirit, awakens us to the reality of God and in this relationship He speaks and I listen.  How much different would this world have been if Judas would of heard God speak to him.  Do not be blind to the situation you are in, invite God in as well, He already knows, just needs us to respond to His voice.

What is God saying to me?  Be deliberate and take your time today.  I am with you and in you, no harm can fall upon you that was not meant to be.

Dear Father, help us hear the Holy Spirit and be active to Him.  Bless this day with the fruits of our labor, You have prepared me for the day.  In my heart, I have heard You speak, I have learned from the mistake of sin from another who was blind to You.   I see a world who turns a blind eye to You and is enticed by the allure of sin.  Awaken us to the reality of what it causes not only to us and those we love but also to You as You were being scourged at the pillar making reparations on our behalf.  I pray for a friend who has gotten into some difficulties because of an easy way, help him overcome his own choices with Your Divine assistance.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, the One who saves, Amen.
