www.dailythoughts.com 1 Corinthians 1:20-21 8-31-201&

"Where is the wise one? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith." 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:20-21‬

Where is the wise one?  Are you wise in the ways of the world?  What about real wisdom in the ways of God?  The wise one sits at the feet of the Master and lets Him radiate His presence and knowledge to Him.  The wise one picks up His bible each and everyday and grows in His faith.  The world wants proof but will not take the time to investigate His existence.  It begins with faith, can you explain oxygen, can you see it, feel it, touch it?  God is the same, hard to explain to someone who doesn't have faith yet if we sit still, we can see Him, feel Him and touch Him.  You can do none of this without faith yet you are still alive breathing oxygen into your lungs.  Is that not faith in a power greater than you that you need to live whether you know He exists or not?

Dear Lord God, I thank You for Your gentle guidance, to hear the quiet whisper that is just a hunch that leads to Your wisdom.  Father bless those that are seeking a drive to be radiated by Your presence.  Give them the wisdom that the world needs to hear.  I pray for the family today Lord, encourage parents to lead by example, to be Your guiding light in their homes.  Prayers for those in the struggle of surviving, help them turn to You for strength.  Thank You Jesus for answering prayer, it is such a blessing to witness faith in action.  Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.

Day 1 - The Novena for Marriage & Family

Our relationship with God is based upon His covenant with His Holy family.  We all see how family values are being eroded and how the culture keeps us overly busy to keep God out of our lives.   I encourage you to start this Novena, some of you may not fully understand this practice but I still encourage you to pray for the family.   Mary, the mother of Jesus, suffered as she raised her Son Jesus.  Joesph also endured many challenges but neither of them let life interfere with their calling of following God and raising a family.

Pray for one another!  Together we become a mighty voice to God, Our Father in Heaven!

Your Brother in Christ

www.dailythoughts.com Matthew 24:43 8-30-2018

"Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into." Matthew‬ ‭24:43‬

Stay awake!  "Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour." ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:8‬.  We always have to be on guard of our own actions and thoughts.  We do not realize how easy we can fall victim to the devil.  A lion doesn't roar when he wants to eat you, He sneaks up upon you and then attacks.  When we are tired, weary, frustrated, over confident, independent, hurt, our defenses are down.  Even the Church scandals can create an opportunity for the thief to break into your house.  Take an account of your security system, is it being turned on?   Daily prayer as you awake, asking for God's help through out the day, quiet reflection, faithfully attend mass, examination of conscience each day, night time prayer.  These all help protect and safe guard your house for you are depending upon God and not self to watch over you.  Jesus has already defeated the devil, be sure you have invited Him in and keep Him in for He never sleeps.

Dear Lord God, have mercy upon me a sinner.  I see the times I have let my guard down, thankfully You keep me vigilant of the spiritual fight always going on.  Thank You for preparing me each day to stay alert, prayers for those who have grown weary may they reignite You within.  Prayers for a young family in need, protect them Lord Jesus from the wickedness of the devil.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Lost Souls, pray for us.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.  May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..

www.dailythoughts.com Mark 6:18 8-29-2018

"John had said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."" Mark‬ ‭6:18‬

John was willing to speak the truth of God.  The ninth commandment: "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife."   For this he died, was it worth it?  Truth again tells us: "Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew‬ ‭5:10‬.  Truth may not always be easy but it is what God ask of each of us, to be willing to speak the truth.  You will be faced with the choice to speak up or stay quiet, what will you do?  Will you be the lone voice in the desert or will you blend in to your surroundings?

Dear Heavenly Father, we face choices each day to witness to You remind us of how Your Son Jesus responded to the culture that surrounded Him.  He did not blend in but stood out to change the world.  May we be blessed today for righteousness as we continue the race.  Prayers for Your faithful servants speaking truth.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17

"Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word." ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:15-17‬

Do you have any family traditions that have been passed down and you in turn are passing them onto the next generations?  One of them in our house is making chocolate chip cookies, seems rather simple but our grandkids are being taught this tradition over time and practice.  Our Church family also passes along traditions that we are to practice and pass along.  The world works at wiping out these traditions but God's Word tells us to hold fast to these traditions.  My grandkids don't really understand that the cookies are a tradition but with love they are being passed on and with love they are being received.  Any traditions you have given up on that need to be revisited?

Dear Lord God, I love our family and the traditions that we are taught, they have taught me how to worship You and the meaning of faith.  Thank You Father for the grace to not get lost along the way, You always know what is needed and when.  May this day bring peace and opportunity to honor You.  Prayers for a brother overcoming blood clots in his lungs, may Your healing hands be upon him and may he be strengthened for the journey.  To God be the glory, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 8-27-2018

"To this end, we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and powerfully bring to fulfillment every good purpose and every effort of faith, that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, in accord with the grace of our God and Lord Jesus Christ." ‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:11-12‬

How is your walk with God going?  Are you overwhelmed with His joy or does it feel like you are stumbling in the dark?  Are you conquering or being conquered?  The only difference between these contrasts is having God in the center.  With God as your vision you see He is being glorified in all situations. Step back a little today and take an inventory of where you are at and how far you have come.  Give thanks for prayer being answered in your life, give thanks for the trials, God considers you worthy.   Muscle isn't built without effort, spiritual strength isn't built without trials and fortitude.   To Christ be the glory!

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the training, I thank You for Your Holy Spirit and the desire to push forward especially in times when I don't feel like it.  You are my strength, You are my joy, today I praise You and thank You for the victories and the trials.  I praise You for being a witness to Your glory in action.  I love You!  Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Ephesians 5:25-26 8-26-2018

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her to sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water with the word," ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:25-26‬

God gave us His Son so we may have life and live it to the fullest.   "To find a wife is to find happiness, a favor granted by the LORD." Proverbs‬ ‭18:22‬. God gave you a wife so you may have life and live it to the fullest. Do you recognize your wive as a gift from God?  Do you serve her as Jesus did for the church?  View your marriage relationship in a different light, it takes effort and at times sacrifice just as Jesus sacrificed for you.  You have entered into a covenant relationship with your spouse, blessed by God and given to you by God.  Thank God with your actions towards His favor.

Dear Father God, I thank You for the one given to me to journey thru life.  She is a blessing to me and our family.   I do not deserve such a gift but willingly accept it.  May my actions be strengthened by You to serve her as Your Son Jesus served the Church.  Prayers for those families that are in choppy waters may they find peace in knowing how much You love them and are seeking their happiness.  Bless this day Lord God with Your Presence. I ask this in Jesus Name, Amen.

Mary, Spouse of the Holy Ghost, pray for us.

dailythoughts.com Psalms 85:12 8-25-2018

"Truth will spring from the earth; justice will look down from heaven." Psalms‬ ‭85:12‬

What is truth?  God is truth, His Bible is truth and we are to live under truth.  What is justice?  God is justice, He created us in His image and likeness.  We were placed upon this earth to live justly.  The world blurs the lines with sin but that does not change truth nor justice.   If we go back to the beginning and live as Adam and Eve in the garden before the apple, this is the truth and justice we were meant to live.  Today we are called to speak the truth, live the truth and allow God to give us our just reward otherwise He is a obligated to give us our just reward that saddens Him.  We are all created equal and we should treat each other equally.   Another way to look at it is we come into the world with nothing and we will leave it with nothing other than the fruits of our labor.  This is what our Just God will judge us upon, you choose, will you speak the truth of God and live justly?

Dear Heavenly Father, I contemplate Your Words this morning and struggle to grasp the meaning and convey the thought.  I am thankful for the Word of Truth that we get to stand upon.  Bless this world with truth and justice, give us right thinking and just living.  You are God and You are truth and You are justice, look upon us with mercy and teach us Your ways.  May we see it not as punishment but as discipline which prepares us for eternal life with You!  Thank You Father for always reaching out to us leading us into Your loving arms.  Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com John 1:47 8-24-2018

"Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, "Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him."" John‬ ‭1:47‬

What is the meaning of duplicity?  "Let your 'Yes' mean 'Yes,' and your 'No' mean 'No.' Anything more is from the evil one." Matthew‬ ‭5:37‬.   "Even before a word is on my tongue, LORD, you know it all." Psalms‬ ‭139:4‬.  What does Jesus say of you as you move towards Him as He knows it all.  There is no point in hiding it or covering it up, He already knows.  He wants all of us to be true Israelites, that is why He is here.

Dear Lord God, what do you see within me that needs to be transformed?  Remove what is not of You and give me a new heart.  You are God and know all.  I am thankful for Your mercy and kindness in my life.  Bless this day for it belongs to You.  I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Matthew 23:14 8-23-2018

"Many are invited, but few are chosen."" ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:14‬

The invitation has been sent, you have received it, are you preparing for the feast?  We do not know when our number is up but it will be called.  "Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." ‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:33‬.  The choices you make today either brings you closer or farther from being ready.  I am thankful God is merciful and willing to help.  Each day we can live for self or live for Him, you choose.  You are invited, will you be chosen?  Will you see with eyes of compassion what God is asking of you?

Dear Heavenly Father, I love You and seek Your help.  You can see my future, help me live this day as one of Your chosen people.  "My sacrifice, O God, is a contrite spirit; a contrite, humbled heart, O God, you will not scorn." Psalms‬ ‭51:19‬.  What a blessing to know You are merciful and only seeks what is best for us.  Today is Yours, yesterday is done and tomorrow only You know, give us the grace to live this day preparing for Your wedding feast.  To Jesus be the Glory, You are the King of my heart.  Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.

Have a blessed day!!  You are loved by the King, stay strong and trust in His mercy.

www.dailythoughts.com Hebrews 4:12 8-22-2018

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬

I had some time this morning to reflect upon the Word of God, I chewed on it after my mobile bible lost power.  Have you received your spiritual food today?  We are made in the image and likeness of God, are you feeding upon Him or are you feeding upon him?  God is living and active, it takes your active participation, the message of the evil one leads us astray, separates us from God and takes no active effort on our part.   God speaks to us through His Holy Bible, the stories and proverbs are your stories and what is going on right now.  He speaks to us but we must be an active participant allow God to guide your path, it is much more peaceful!

Dear Father God, WOW!  I am in your tutelage and guidance, I love the meaning, the growth, the vision, the insight and more than anything else the peace.  You are peace and I am walking in peace even when the waves are choppy.  Thank You for the small things in life, the simple pleasures, the opportunity to disconnect and just ponder.  I praise and honor You today with my active participation, lead the way.  Amen!

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com 2 Corinthians 8:9 8-20-2018

"For you know the gracious act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that for your sake he became poor although he was rich, so that by his poverty you might become rich." ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭8:9‬

What an undying act of love Christ gives each of us!  When Jesus was hanging on the cross, He was thinking of you.  In His poverty it was for you to become overwhelmingly rich in the Kingdom of God.  Life is full of joy when we walk with Jesus!  The fact that you are reading this is a blessing, He reaches out to tell each of us, peace be with you.  He has suffered for all our sins and did so willingly, that is a blessing.   You are rich beyond measure for the Kingdom of God is yours.  Be a blessing to someone today, you do not know how they are suffering but Christ does, be Jesus today to someone in need and as a priest friend of mine always says, "Pray for one another."

Dear Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my questions of why, I know You suffered.  May Your Light and presence radiate from within each of us to reach out to those that are suffering.  May our words be uplifting and spirit filled in a world that wants to crucify.  May I be Jesus to someone today.  Prayers for a family experiencing loss this morning, prayers for a family under attack, may they come out the other side standing on The Rock of Salvation.   I ask these things in Your Holy Name, the Holy One of God, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.

You are being restored - Rejoice!

www.dailythoughts.com Ezekiel 24:21 8-20-2018

"Say to the house of Israel: Thus says the Lord GOD: I will now desecrate my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the delight of your eyes, the concern of your soul. The sons and daughters you left behind shall fall by the sword." Ezekiel‬ ‭24:21‬

You ever notice how history repeats itself?  Is it happening again?  Whom do you place your hope and trust in?  I think about the Jews that looked to Jesus, whom they had placed their hope for a political leader, only to watch Him get crucified.  Did God not desecrate His sanctuary?  "Ezekiel shall be a sign for you: everything he did, you shall do. When it happens, you shall know that I am the Lord GOD." Ezekiel‬ ‭24:24‬.  We are to be obedient to God and know that He is God.  As the Apostles said, we shall say.  "Jesus then said to the Twelve, "Do you also want to leave?" Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God."" John‬ ‭6:67-69‬

Dear Heavenly Father, I am convinced You are the Holy One of God, in our trials and tribulations, I will be obedient and place my trust in You.  Strengthen us for the journey, give us food that feeds the soul.  Breathe life into Your people.  Bless this day Lord and be ever at my side.  Prayers for those looking for an easy way out.  In Jesus name, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Ezekiel 18:30-32

"Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, all of you according to your ways—oracle of the Lord GOD. Turn, turn back from all your crimes, that they may not be a cause of sin for you ever again. Cast away from you all the crimes you have committed, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, house of Israel? For I find no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies—oracle of the Lord GOD. Turn back and live!" Ezekiel‬ ‭18:30-32‬

What is God telling us about death?  It is real, hell exists and we will suffer the consequences of our actions if we do not turn back from our sinful ways.  I am surrounded by many and I ponder how many know God?  Truly know him?  My heart aches for those who go through life not paying attention to their Father in Heaven.   Who do you say He is?  "I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die." John‬ ‭6:48-50.  Life or death, the choice is yours and yours alone.

Dear Lord God, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God, may we have faith and true repentance in our lives.  Your chastisement approaches and yet there is much to do.  Awaken our souls to the purpose of life, give us conviction of heart and passion in our steps.  Rebuild your church as you prepared your disciples in days of old.  Thank Lord for the treasures of life and the desire to know You and who You are.  Prayers for a friend whose life is in a mess, You are greater than any of his problems become real to him and rekindle his soul.   I ask this in the name above every other name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Victory, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Ezekiel 16:62-63 8-17-2018

"For I will re-establish my covenant with you, that you may know that I am the LORD, that you may remember and be ashamed, and never again open your mouth because of your disgrace, when I pardon you for all you have done—oracle of the Lord GOD." Ezekiel‬ ‭16:62-63‬

He is Lord and He is real.  As you look back through time, how many times have we as a people turned our back on our part of the covenant and yet God is forever faithful.  God always brings us back to what truth is.  Give thanks today for the cup is being cleansed from the inside and we His people will know that He is Lord.  In our own lives, how far have we strayed from truth?   His Holy Spirit convicts us to do a little house cleaning, our sins will have light cast upon them and be brought out of the darkness.   Nothing is ever done in secret for God sees all!   Seek His forgiveness and re-establish your part of the Covenant.

Dear Heavenly Father, purification is never easy but always necessary for a firm foundation.  I thank You for building our faith upon rock.  May we become rock solid and stead fast as the winds of change work against us.  You are God and are real in my life.  Being in Your presence and eating Your flesh enlivens my spirit to do Your will.  Thank You God for bringing the darkness into the light that we may all know You are God.  Amen.

Mary, Mother of Hope, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Ezekiel 12:2 8-16-2018

"Son of man, you live in the midst of a rebellious house; they have eyes to see, but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear. They are such a rebellious house!" Ezekiel‬ ‭12:2

Can you see this occurring in your midst?  The challenge for us is not to react in a way that brings more pain upon our Lord.   Our faith is not in any man, if it is we will fall victim to the ways of the world.  Our faith is in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.   He is our salvation so in the midst of these rebellious times, stay calm, gaze upon the mystery of Heaven and all will be well.  Daily relationship with God is key to a long and happy life.  "Be still and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth." Psalms 46:11.  He is and will be exalted, watch and see!

Dear Lord God, what an amazing time we live in.  You are the breath of life and where my hope is.  I rejoice in knowing You and being in relationship with You.  You are the Manna that I feast upon and You smile upon us.  May I be a faithful witness and a pleasing offering to You.  Prayers for Your family and Your Church, teach us Your ways and help us not lose sight of a forgiving heart.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com 1 Chronicles 15:15 8-15-2018

"The sons of the Levites carried the ark of God on their shoulders with the poles thereon, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the LORD." ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭15:15‬

The Levites are the tribe of Israel that had the responsibility of doing the temple duties, some were priests others had other duties.  Only the priests could carry the Ark.  The Ark carried the Word of God, the tablets that God gave to the Israelites in the Old Testament.  Who carried the Word of God to God's people in the New Testament?  Mary.  Who has the responsibility of carrying the Ark in the New Testament?  Priests?  "But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;" 1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬.  You are responsible, the Ark was never greater than what it carried but it was given a place of honor in our salvation history.   Are you giving Mary a place of honor in your priestly duties?

Dear Father God, as you clearly state, we are a royal Priesthood, a chosen race no different than the levites.  Help me live up to my priestly duties, may I lift up the Ark on my shoulders and give Her a place of honor.  I thank You for our heritage, to be part of Your Holy Family.  Show me how to acknowledge my faith in various ways throughout the day. In the name of the Son of Mary, Amen.

What brings you joy?  I spent the weekend with our grandkids, a little chaotic but none the less full of joy.  We play a game called, "I spy with my little eye."   We laugh and cut up playing it enjoying the simple things that brings joy.  I realize as they get older, their joy can get clouded by chasing the joy the world tries to give: status, power, control, money.  One of God's testimonies that He gives us is:  "Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:3‬.  Are you teachable?  Do you listen to God?  Do you spend time with Him?  Do you look to God with love in your heart?  Do you believe what he tells you?  Are you sorry for the things that offends him?  Are you humble and give Him authority?   My relationship with God is a lot like the one I have with my grandkids, only the roles reversed.  Don't miss the joy of life wasting it on the small stuff the world preaches.   Go hang out with God, this is what your heritage will be.

Dear Heavenly Father, what joy You give us when we spend time with you in adoration.  Write Your testimonies in our hearts and give us child like faith.  Protect us from the wickedness of the devil, may we recognize his trappings and be brought back to Your protection.  Bless this day Lord and may I always listen and hear as You do.  I thank You for the heritage of eternity with You and the joy of this life, bring the day on!  I love You, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

"To this end he has [also] called you through our gospel to possess the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:14‬

In reading, contemplating and understanding the gospel we learn from God.  He is not foreign to us because we know Him and we are one of His subjects.  Our lives imitate Him over time as we listen to His word.  I encourage you to spend time each day in His presence, these brief words are only to wet your appetite.  We will possess the glory of God as we grow in love in Him.  Our actions change, our outlook changes, our trust and faith grows as He grows in us.  Be subject to Him and witness the fullness of truth surround you.

Dear Heavenly Father, we begin another week under Your guidance.  You bring joy to the morning and the day.  Help us see there is no right or wrong way as we sit in Your presence, You speak in the quietness of our hearts and lead us to Your glory.  May we realize Heaven on earth and know You before our time is up.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Love, pray for us.

www.dailythoughts.com Ephesians 4:30-32 8-12-2018

"And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God, with which you were sealed for the day of redemption. All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice. [And] be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ." ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:30-32‬

"Must be removed", as a Christian how does God feel when we respond with bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, reviling or malice?  It grieves Him, it wasn't how His Son responded.  Jesus's responses was always with love.  We are human and the emotional responses comes upon us quickly, I make every effort to not respond, I try to put a day behind me and reflect upon the situation.  I try to step into the others shoes and see it from their viewpoint.  Our perspective changes when looking through the others eyes and the emotion has been removed.  Be kind to one another, have compassion with each other, forgive as God has for given you.  God is whispering to some of us this morning, that small quiet voice is grieving waiting on us to be imitators of His Son Jesus.

Dear Lord God, I am sorry for grieving the Holy Spirit thru out my life with my actions.  I ask You to remove the emotional response and allow time to give the proper response.  I sought You LORD, and You answered me, delivered me from all my fears.  Lord, You know the things that irritate my spirit, remove the jealousy, or greed or what ever it is that inflicts pain upon others.  I desire my response to be only love.  I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Matthew 17:19-20 8-11-2018

"Then the disciples approached Jesus in private and said, "Why could we not drive it out?" "He said to them, "Because of your little faith. Amen, I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭17:19-20

You ever ask the same question, why?  What is the difference between little faith and faith the size of a mustard seed.  A mustard seed is extremely small?  We all go thru those moments of doubt and despair, not seeing what we asked for.  A mustard seed knows it is destined to become a mustard tree, do you know You are the Son or Daughter of The King.  Your destiny is eternity, would your Father not give you what is best.  And it is ok to say: "Immediately the boy's father cried out and said, "I do believe; help my unbelief."" Mark‬ ‭9:24‬.  Your Father in Heaven will help your unbelief in ways unexpected.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are Almighty, there is nothing You can't do.  We are Your Sons and Daughters living in a world that denies Your existence.  Increase our faith to the size of a mustard seed so we know whom we belong to and what our destiny is.  Put action behind our faith so others may see You, the Living God in action.  I ask this through Your Son Jesus, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Corinthians 9:10 8-10-2018

"Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;" 2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:10‬

If you think about the life of the farmer, how much time and energy he expellees in producing a crop.  The amount of care that is needed to prepare the ground, the knowledge that he must have and the timing of things, a place to store the seed to plant.  As a sower are you putting that much energy into the fields God has given you?  Are you going into God's word and selecting the seed?   Are you storing the seed for the right time to plant?  Sitting still in the morning and contemplating God's word is like the farmer preparing to plant.  The more you are in His word, the more God will use you to plant.  The word is His seed.  Allow it to penetrate your thinking and produce the fruit of righteousness.  SAINT BASIL THE GREAT (+379): "Silence is the beginning of the purification of the soul."

Dear Lord God, penetrate my thinking with the Word.  May I give time to You so You may speak to my inner being.  Purify my soul so it may produce the harvest of eternity.  Cleanse my spirit of what is deep and remove what isn't needed.  You are the keeper of my soul, I give you my time.  Open my heart to the Word and bless this morning with joy and abundance.  Prayers for those being challenged, may they see the fruit of righteousness in it.  All for the glory of God, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Matthew 16:18 8-9-2018

"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it." ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:18‬

Jesus, the Son of the Living God, faced the gates of the netherworld, how did He respond when He was being crucified?  Did He respond with kind in what He was receiving or did He respond in love?  Love conquers all, from that moment that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, the church is rising up.  Being on the wrong end of a situation isn't easy but if we, the church are to succeed, our response must be with Love.  God is large and in charge, He is doing some amazing things.  Our mission is to join the fight, our response is in prayer and with love.  Did Jesus not purify us with His blood while on the cross?  Are we going to deny this with our response?  Jesus also has a response for that in His word.  "He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do."" ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:23‬

God purify my mind and heart as I seek to make your teachings a priority in life.  Your words speak to me this morning and the actions of the past few days shed's light into what is going on.  We are walking together and nothing can interfere with the Love of Christ as long as I am with You.  Thank You Lord God for the beauty of life and this amazing adventure that leads us into Your heart.  In the name of the Son of the Living God, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Matthew 15:26 8-8-2018

"He said in reply, "It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs."" Matthew‬ ‭15:26

What is it about children and our faith? "Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew‬ ‭18:3‬.  What do children have that as you grow older you tend to question ?  Belief, they believe what they are told even that that seems impossible, skepticism enters in as we get older.  Now back to the food and scraps, I personally want the food, scraps are just the left overs.  "and, after he had given thanks, broke it and said, "This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."" 1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:24-25‬.  I don't know about you, but I want the food for children, I take Jesus at His word and He refers to it throughout His Word.

Dear Heavenly Father, I believe, I accept You at Your word.  Give me more child like faith, open the scripture in newness each time I read it.  Thank You for the joy of a memory as I was being fed scraps, enticed into knowing more.  I love You and You continue to amaze me each day in ways unexpected.  To You be the Glory for ever and ever, Amen.

www.dailythoughts.com Matthew 14:22

"Immediately He made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away." Matthew‬ ‭14:22‬

Jesus made them get into the boat, were the disciples made or did they recognize the authority of Jesus and did as He said.  I am sure some of them wanted to stay with Jesus, some didn't want Jesus to stay but they all heeded the Masters voice.  How about you, do you recognize the authority of Christ in your life and do as He says?  I wanted to sleep longer this morning but I heard the call.  Do I heed His voice or do I do what I want to do?  Listening and obeying is what God asks of each of us.  He knows what is best for you so my advice is do what He tells you, and follow His encouragement in your life.  He knows how to navigate what lies ahead.

Dear Father God, You always know what is best for us and You know what purpose is to be accomplished.  Help us do as You ask of us, maybe we are struggling with that choice, it is Your authority that we obey.    Help us understand there are consequences to not obeying your voice when we operate under our own authority.   I pray for an acquaintance who got hurt in a four wheeler accident may she be healed from all injuries and brought back to fullness of life.  I ask this through the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Amen.
