"And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God, with which you were sealed for the day of redemption. All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice. [And] be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ." Ephesians 4:30-32
"Must be removed", as a Christian how does God feel when we respond with bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, reviling or malice? It grieves Him, it wasn't how His Son responded. Jesus's responses was always with love. We are human and the emotional responses comes upon us quickly, I make every effort to not respond, I try to put a day behind me and reflect upon the situation. I try to step into the others shoes and see it from their viewpoint. Our perspective changes when looking through the others eyes and the emotion has been removed. Be kind to one another, have compassion with each other, forgive as God has for given you. God is whispering to some of us this morning, that small quiet voice is grieving waiting on us to be imitators of His Son Jesus.
Dear Lord God, I am sorry for grieving the Holy Spirit thru out my life with my actions. I ask You to remove the emotional response and allow time to give the proper response. I sought You LORD, and You answered me, delivered me from all my fears. Lord, You know the things that irritate my spirit, remove the jealousy, or greed or what ever it is that inflicts pain upon others. I desire my response to be only love. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Mary, Mother of Peace, pray for us.
