www.dailythoughts.com John 6:30-31 8-5-2018

"So they said to him, "What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you? What can you do? Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written: 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"" ‭‭John‬ ‭6:30-31‬

Seeing is believing?  In fact it is the other way around, believing is seeing!  If our thoughts are closed and only open up with proof then where is our faith.  Look out into the world, has it really changed that much from the time of Christ.  Do the people still not ask for a sign to believe and yet Christ, the Bread of Heaven, is in their midst.  We miss the beauty of life and Christ if we don't operate in faith.

"Jesus then said to the Twelve, "Do you also want to leave?"" ‭‭John‬ ‭6:67‬.  This verse is in my thoughts this morning.  My Church is under attack and Christ who leads it is the one asking the question.  The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing, belief is an action word. Pray for the Church, pray for our priests and religious, pray for the victims.  Be vigilant and see what is really going on, pay attention.   Is your answer: "Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God."" ‭‭John‬ ‭6:68-69‬.  The Gospel is being played out in front of our eyes.

Dear Lord God, what a glorious morning to awake to the beauty of life and the beauty of my faith.  Thank You Lord for getting me out of bed to spend time with You.   I am Yours and will follow You to the ends of the earth.  I ask for prayers today for the victims of scandal and for those God has empowered to build the body of Christ.  May our faith increase and may we all be fed by the Manna from Heaven.  May we go into the world and spread the Gospel with lives of dedicated love.   Amen.

Mary, Holy Mother of God, pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
