www.dailythoughts.com 2 Peter 1:16-19 8-6-2018

"We did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when that unique declaration came to him from the majestic glory, "This is my Son, my beloved, with whom I am well pleased." We ourselves heard this voice come from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain. Moreover, we possess the prophetic message that is altogether reliable. You will do well to be attentive to it, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts." 2 Peter‬ ‭1:16-19‬

As you read these verses can you envision the thoughts of Peter as he recalls the transfiguration.  His heart must of been leaping for joy, the experience of hearing God's voice must of been playing again in his memory.  Is God's word a lamp in your thinking?  Are you attentive to it?  Do you hit your knees and seek the guidance of our Heavenly Father.  Peter wants to instill that same passion he has for Christ, he wants to imbed that thought into our memory.  Close your eyes and make it real to you, live what Peter lived with his words.

Dear Father God, I turn to You this morning and ask for help in this day.  I seek the peace that only You can give, You are greater that any of the challenges of the day.  May the Gospels be real in my actions as they were to Saint Peter.  Help me be Your holy servant today and may Your Light pierce the darkness in mighty ways.   In Jesus name, Amen.

Mary, Mother of Peace, pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
