"John had said to Herod, "It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife."" Mark 6:18
John was willing to speak the truth of God. The ninth commandment: "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife." For this he died, was it worth it? Truth again tells us: "Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:10. Truth may not always be easy but it is what God ask of each of us, to be willing to speak the truth. You will be faced with the choice to speak up or stay quiet, what will you do? Will you be the lone voice in the desert or will you blend in to your surroundings?
Dear Heavenly Father, we face choices each day to witness to You remind us of how Your Son Jesus responded to the culture that surrounded Him. He did not blend in but stood out to change the world. May we be blessed today for righteousness as we continue the race. Prayers for Your faithful servants speaking truth. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.
