"Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word." 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17
Do you have any family traditions that have been passed down and you in turn are passing them onto the next generations? One of them in our house is making chocolate chip cookies, seems rather simple but our grandkids are being taught this tradition over time and practice. Our Church family also passes along traditions that we are to practice and pass along. The world works at wiping out these traditions but God's Word tells us to hold fast to these traditions. My grandkids don't really understand that the cookies are a tradition but with love they are being passed on and with love they are being received. Any traditions you have given up on that need to be revisited?
Dear Lord God, I love our family and the traditions that we are taught, they have taught me how to worship You and the meaning of faith. Thank You Father for the grace to not get lost along the way, You always know what is needed and when. May this day bring peace and opportunity to honor You. Prayers for a brother overcoming blood clots in his lungs, may Your healing hands be upon him and may he be strengthened for the journey. To God be the glory, Amen.
Mary, Our Lady of Good Success, pray for us.
