Luke 10:25 10-8-2018 Dailythoughts.com

"There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test him and said, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"" ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:25‬

How far as a Christian culture have we strayed from the truth.  Walk into many churches today and their answer to this question is the sinners prayer.  But Jesus's answer is much different, it contains love thy neighbor as thy self.  There are no short cuts to Heaven, there are no roads that are easy, we must move on from loving self.  We can not give what we do not have.  Jesus helped the scholar understand that salvation is found in giving of self freely even when it is inconvenient.  "Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers' victim?" He answered, "The one who treated him with mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."  ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:36-37‬.  Do we share the gospel with our lives in action?  Or do we find comfort sitting in a pew repeating the sinners prayer?  Do not be fooled, give His mercy away.

Dear Heavenly Father, You call us out of darkness into action, to be living examples of Your saving grace.  Move us to action and help us see our neighbors as those we will meet today by chance.  May we go beyond the convenient and share Your mercy with them.  I pray for the strength and courage to go beyond myself.  Prayers for a sweet lady adjusting to her circumstances of life, ease her anxiety and be greater in her.  I ask this in Your Holy name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Mary, Queen of Angels, pray for us.

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4b
