"While meeting with them, he enjoined them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for "the promise of the Father about which you have heard me speak; for John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the holy Spirit." Acts 1:4-5
Jesus's ministry didn't start until He was baptized by John and the Holy Spirit came upon Him. The Apostles didn't start their calling until they were baptized with the Holy Spirit. It is a supernatural baptism and God, the Father, creates a new creation with an old wine skin. The Apostles did not know what Jesus was speaking of but they trusted His words. They eagerly awaited what Jesus had told them. We will celebrate Pentecost Sunday in a few days, will you eagerly await the promise of the Father? "I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you so that you walk in my statutes, observe my ordinances, and keep them." Ezekiel 36:26-27 God always fulfills His promise, Jesus gives us instruction, will you wait eagerly?
What is God saying to me: My Holy Spirit, I have instilled within You, You do not act on your own but in one accord with My Holy Spirit.
Dear Father, there is a joy in living Your word, there is an understanding and an excitement to see the word come alive. This is Your Holy Spirit working within, helping me understand what it is You are saying. Your joy is complete when we receive You into our hearts and give You Your rightful place in our lives. The pains and sufferings go away and are replaced with a sense of purpose and peace. Come Holy Spirit and enliven the hearts of Your people. Amen.
Mary, Mystical Rose, pray for us.
